Great solution....as long as you never plan on leaving!

Have tried to cancel for 5 months, multiple emails, cases, conversations and promises to cancel, just got our 4th email this week that they can't process our card. No access to accounting, don't believe me call their number.

Pros

Used the software for 9 years, pretty easy to use and setup decent feature set, great that it was Ipad/iphone based instead of having to buy specific hardware.

Cons

Light to non-existent integration to Square for credit card processing.

WE BOUGHT LAVU ONLY BECAUSE OF THE INTEGRATION WITH A 3RD PARTY. WE ALREADY HAD A POS SYSTEM BUT NEEDED THE 3RD PARTY INTEGRATION FOR OUR RESTAURANT.

NOTHING. WAS SOLD BASED ON FEATURES TO COME BUT AFTER 2-YEARS, THE FEATURES WE WAITED ON STILL ISN'T PROGRAMED

Lavu is easy to use and has fantastic customer service

Pros

INTEGRATION with 3rd party delivery sites via Chowly (so no more manually inputting orders from seamless/ delivery.com/ eat24/ etc. into the POS system), easy to use, good quality hardware, fantastic customer service (anytime I call, the question gets solved the first time; customer service is friendly & very effective; always easily accessible), lots of amazing features (reports, inventory management, employee management) When I first contacted Lavu, we were only interested in switching POS systems for 1 reason: integration with 3rd party delivery sites.

Cons

Nothing to do with Lavu - it's just that apple software (i.e. iPad) is more costly than using Android-based systems (i.e. tablets) but the iPad is MUCH more user friendly

Constant Interruptions

I enjoy the reports and the admin website.

Pros

The software is very easy to use and the reporting system is great.

Cons

We have constant interruptions including but not limited to: data parse errors with the credit card processing company, iPads going down, the admin website going down, drawers locking up and printers going offline, etc.

Online all inclusive restaurant POS

There is an open ended API for other application integration, but we are not savvy enough to do this ourselves.

Pros

Very versatile and easy to use.

Cons

Sometimes connection of iPads can be a little shotty as it goes for the order takers communicating with LAVU KDS, and it has been hard to get the problem fully resolved, but it only creates a mild irritant and not a full distraction from the overall business.

Until recenlty it was for the current management at the restaurant.

Pros

The set up was easy as the dealer came to the restaurant and set it up and did a one day training for the staff.

Cons

Recently, the restaurant reported to me that they had a glitch and lost printers.

Pretty good system

Pros

Being on the cloud allows me to make adjustments and run reports from anywhere, anytime.

Cons

Needs a little more development on the retail application. Not as well suited for retail as it is for restaurant.

Their technology group is so unequipped to do the most simple tasks. They do not follow up on cannot complete a task and the system is unreliable.

Pros

NONE, There is absolutely nothing to say. I can only put a negative review of this company and my company has suffered from their negligence.

I could write a book on how bad this system and management is and how they do not care about there customers.

Underdeveloped and unsupported

The biggest problem is that there is little to no integration between Menu Drive (which they purchased from a third party) and the LAVU POS.

Pros

Not much to like here. It is overpriced, underdeveloped, and largely unsupported.

Cons

Our salesperson quit responding to calls and email right after the sale was made and only resurfaced when there was yet another new LAVU product to try to sell to us.

Not A Fan -Would suggest Pen & Paper

Benefits: It was a band-aid for when I didn't have anything. LAVU has now become an albatross around the neck of our business.

Pros

I even recommended it at the beginning to a few other customers, but it was a mistake.

Cons

The reporting features give you decent onscreen views, but you cant reprint a ticket that you can see on their backend web interface. The "print layout" for some tables dont work and give random data.

Love the ease of use. The customer service has been really good as of late.

Cons

Need some better basic features: -Option for end of day report to reconcile as if the credit card tips were given out as cash to the servers, as this is the process for most restaurants.

Dissapointed with costumer service and sales!

And also, we have a plan to open another 1 account because we open new bar, we tried reached up by email, phone, they just asnwer to follow up but nothing happen.

Pros

This POS was great, easy to use and you can syncronized to other cloud system inventory.

Cons

I have contacted their custumer support to get assist from them but they reply another 3 or 4 days after and didn't fixed what we complained about.

Couldn't enter tips that day either. and i tried calling them 3 times that night, plus an email. their chat hasn't worked in months. 4 days later I still have not heard from them

Pros

But its easy enough to use for the features that i use which are basic operation of cash register it is intuitive and takes little training

Cons

Also they said that my gift cards would integrate, but they did not

We are pulling our systems out of our restaurants

Nothing to come close to outweighing the cons

Pros

About the only thing that is positive about this system is that it is internet based and we can move freely about the restaurant to serve our guests.

Cons

If you're ok with the system going offline with no warning due to inaccurate automated billing issues and 3 hours on the phone with inept customer service reps while having zero access to input orders, print tickets to your kitchen, bills for the customers and not being able to process credit cards than this IS the system for you!
