Best Supported POS System

Very easy to use, easy to get help specific to your problem

Pros

How easy it is to get support, how knowledgeable the support staff is with the software & shortcuts to use it. Also, it tracks inventory across multiple platforms so you don't sell inventory you don't have.

Cons

It's fairly expensive in comparison to what we were using in the past (quick books POS - doesn't track inventory across multiple platforms but cheaper)

I know amount that i calculate manual in every type of payment are balance or not because kounta showing it amount minus or over, so we can double check before we accept to close cashier or shift.

Pros

Display of the pos is look modern and kounta can create recipen and inventory and back office. Pso system complet with back office.

Actually they have good features in back office for reporting. But not as good as inventory system by itself. First, POS system not completly all transaction is automaticly show in the report when want to do closing cashier (shift), like we need to do manual calculated some other transaction except cash like card and gofood payment as i used to. Great Customer support

Immediate customer support is a huge plus

Pros

Ideal for hospitality..providing hospitality POS solutions that were once considerably more expensive. Understands the Australian market. Great customer support. Was having a problem at 7:30 am on a Saturday morning and got an immediate response from a real human. Big ticks for that! Easy to update and maintain.

Cons

a little bit steep for a new business. But overall a great piece of software..the retail capacity is limited but works well for a cafe with a few retail items.

Kounta helped solve our need for a simple POS that integrated with CBA's Albert.

I am able to better analyse my business performance and make real time decisions.

Pros

It interfaced with our existing Albert and IT setup at the Cafe. Our staff quickly adapted to new methods for operating and recording sales. The interface is reasonably intuitive and the videos help with any learning gaps.

Cons

Some of issues that irked me. 1. There is no way to test workflow (options, etc) in a test mode. So you do everything in a live environment (and constantly have to swap to POS and back to test). So you can end up with 'false' sales figures, and incorrectly recorded refunds, or deleted sales. From the back office it would be good to 'test' new products setup before making them active. 2. There is no way to adjust a reconciliation if it is incorrectly entered. 3. The next price points are not attractive for small businesses to step up.

Pros

Cost effective , easy to train new staff, easy integration with our accounting system. We are looking to now add rosters and stocktake to streamline our business.

Cons

Service can be effected when the system goes offline. This can also effect cash up as when the system is offline you are unable to process accounts.

Product is good but not all encompassing. We need to be able to amend previously finalised takings if changes or errors are made. This has been communicated to Kounta and apparently will be looked at and hopefully rectified in a further release?? The price schedules are limited and not really applicable for my size organisation. I would like to have 2 x POS devices however paying more than $50 per...

Terrible Integration with XERO

Pros

Daily monitoring of the sales History of sales figures taking the orders at the till although couple of times it started to update in the busy time without asking

Cons

- Updating without asking on busy times in front of customers - Frequent disruptions - Very poor integration with XERO, multiple times we had to export the reports manually and recently they changed the whole thing and the reports of three months did not export to XERO and it's very complicated to setup and retrieve the data. Customer service and support was poor as well - It's very expensive and not value for money

If there was another option that exceeded the value, I would recommend a change for something that is more intuitive, more user friendly, and offered more complete support.

Pros

The POS functions are fairly easy to use and the reporting is simple. Also, customer info and scheduling are also fairly easy to use and navigate.

Cons

It is very difficult to train a new person on the software. Inventory management is very difficult and tedious and most all functions related to inventory management including ordering are a nightmare to manage.

Gives fantastic feedback on sales by hour and type even at the lowest payment level. Very easy to use

Cons

The expense. It is great feedback, but perhaps a little expensive, since POS software can be used free, it is the data crunching that seems expensive

Overall, I am very happy with KOUNTA and I believe such systems are the future for the hospitality industry.

Pros

The software is fine, it is a POS it doesn't do anything better than a server based 'traditional' system. The positives of KOUNTA are the tablet based interface, competitors such as IMPOS are too lazy to adapt the CRT system to tablet; the ease of instigating changes, the price; and importantly the support and expertise of the technical staff at KOUNTA .

Cons

There is an instability in the system ie the seeming loss of functions such as printing, and the delay in synchronising between tablets.

We have been using Kounta in our cafe for over 6 months and it is fantastic. Easy to edit, easy to use and cost effective. New staff tend to pick it up and are using it without much support within a few days. The access to information is really good and the reporting tools are spot on. Highly recommended!

Great to get going with!

We were setting up our business and required a system that was not overly complex, could integrate with our systems already in place, would not break the bank and was easy to use. Kounta and it’s integrations has answered all of what we required at a fraction of the cost of all other set up. The support has been great and the sale was helpful, not pushy. We’re very happy.

Pros

Mostly I love the ease of use of the system.

Cons

With our spotty wi-fi system, we’ve had moments of the system not talking to other components such as printers and cash drawers. But not particularly the fault of Kounta.

Buggy and lack of support

Worst POS system ever. I would give zero stars if I could. Service was dismal and a lot of bugs with the program. It seems like the program was half completed when it was released. While it might perform at a satisfactory level when the business is relatively small and not as busy, this software clearly cannot handle when we have over 100 covers per service as there was no bugs during our quieter...

Pros

Simplicity of the features and simple pricing structure. We were able to view all the reports remotely.

Cons

Buggy and full of errors especially during a busy restaurant service. Reports were insufficient and support was also unable to resolve the issues we were having.

How easy it has been for my staff to use, the cost was a big factor when I chose to use Kounta as many over cost more and the support has been outstanding.

Cons

I need the ability to put notes with the end of day cash up, for Auditing purposes. It would also be good to have the finalised takings number on the end of day print out.

Pros

From day one Kounta had the support and real sales staff in place to help me set it all up, even organising all the hardware, and saving me money. Support is brilliant. Love the app, easy to use, and staff have taken to it really quickly.

Kounta is slow and clunky which is common for a web based app. It has a wide range of features but the app is far from the price of $100/MO price tag. Other services like Square and Vend are a lot better and are value for money not like Kounta. greatly misled

a very disappointing and expensive experience. They have even now told me that they know Kounta is not really suitable for retails but more for hospitality. They had visited our store and discussed our needs....now they tell us they have another new programme we can buy from them. Consumer Affairs is my next stop

I have absolutely nothing good to say about Kounta, its programme or its service. Trying to talk them they just become argumentative. So I have given up.

Cons

very complex and clunky. scanning feature complex and doesn't work a lot of the time. too many steps to complete simple entry of products - downloading and uploading spreadsheets every time takes a lot of time and often causes errors when uploaded. after several months and many thousands of $ in wages trying to get it running and loaded and we are at the point of giving up. A very expensive exercise. While the system had so many problems, the sellers wanted to charge us for any training or fixing problems.
