Automated Business Management Typical business tasks like payment collection, appointment confirmations, and even payroll processing can be automated with MINDBODY’s business management tools. Create profiles for each member of your staff, making sure to enter each employee’s services, prices, and availability. You can even set the maximum number of clients able to enroll in a given class, and create automated waitlists that your clients can join in the hopes of snagging a spot if someone cancels.

Digital Marketing Tools MINDBODY provides marketing tools for both client acquisition and retention. In an effort to attract more business and generate increased referrals, users can send digital promotions and discounts, as well as create digital loyalty programs to reward their most frequent clients.

When you sign up for MINDBODY, your business is automatically listed on the company’s consumer-facing mobile app, which is used by more than 250,000 people. Other marketing features that MINDBODY offers include trackable promo codes, discounted package deals, and gift cards, which you have the option to create and distribute via online channels at any time. You can also use MINDBODY’s platform to send “We Miss You” emails to clients who’ve stopped coming in as frequently.

Online Scheduling Providing clients with a way to book classes or lessons online is one of the smartest things a health-based business can do. MINDBODY”s online scheduling platform can be linked to a business’s existing website or Facebook page. The company’s free mobile app, MINDBODY Connect, allows clients to manage their own schedules (as well as payment histories) from any connected smartphone or tablet.

You can enter the class schedules at your facility, along with the number of available spots in each class and MINDBODY will handle all the heavy lifting related to online scheduling, including offering waitlists to fill spots that open up at the last minute. The monthly fee is far too high when I am contacting customer service on a weekly basis.

Confusing interface for consumer and end user Antiquated system Sends people off your website to book (there is a third part widget at an additional monthly fee) The mobile app is also glitchy and requires additional troubleshooting when there is a problem (you need to know where the issue came from if contacting customer service) Slow customer service response Repeated double bookings and bookings on days closed for business Locked into using their merchant processing makes it impossible to switch Integrates with Constant Contact you are stuck with another user unfriendly antiquated system No online forms Doesn't integrate with Quickbooks

Not good for appointment-based businesses

Their app also does not require a client to enter a phone number, despite that being a forced field set by us on the back end.

Reporting features ("tagging" is an excellent one), flexibility in options for settings, appointment confirmations, and reminders, training, and technical support.

Cons

Inability to capture credit card info from the client at booking, integration with the website is clunky, high monthly cost, the app doesn't require the client to enter a phone number, SMS alerts to staff are only possible when the client has opted in to also receive SMS appointment notifications.

Mindbody helped manage the weekly class schedule in multiple studio locations, and had a clean sales interface.

Pros

a static calendar on your website, or have a clunky Google Calendar plugin - Mindbody instantly updates the weekly calendar of classes, so nothing is outdated or difficult to read.

Cons

The ability to customize the user interface and the ability to run reports are almost non-existent in Mindbody, so you'll probably have to use Excel or printouts to help manage these areas.

Pros

MindBody is an incredibly easy to use and to the point software designed to help schedule + directly add reminders to your calendar, advertise, make payments to businesses, and keep track of your fitness classes.

Cons

I wish I did not get logged out of the app unexpectedly and when my phone does app updates. Not that big of a deal but it is annoying to get kicked out.
