The system was easy to learn, thanks god because there is no onsite help and if you have a problem you have to resolve it with and onl the phone operator! That can be time consuming and frustrating if you are not very technologically friendly.

Worst POS system I have ever used - removed after install - review long overdue

Good system to use as a point of sale

While we can't allow outright deletion due to concerns surrounding recordkeeping, we do allow users to inactivate items in their console so they aren't visible. It's a huge undertaking when transitioning a restaurant from writing orders on paper tickets to the most advanced POS system. We were up to the challenge and so was Revel. Taking orders couldn't be easier. Revel saves the restaurant a lot of time and time is money.

Everything was absolutely excellent!

I would love to try this out in an independent restaurant application to really see what it can do.

Great platform

We were initially excited to have Revel implemented in our small bakery, however, after two weeks into the implementation we quickly determined that several limitation made it a horrible fit for our business.  We watched all of the tutorials but nothing prepared us to know the limitations of the infrastructure of their system.    Their sales person wasn't even fully aware.   We were bounced around from implementation to IT before someone was finally able to tell us that modules were not designed to process custom orders.   The worst part was that, with only two weeks into implementation , they refused to refund the $3100.00 we paid siting contract guidelines and charged us an additional  $1300.00 cancellation fee.  They required us to return the equipment but kept all of the funds paid.   I would caution anyone considering moving to this system.  No one takes ownership of issues and once they lock you in, irregardless of the situation, you are stuck.  Overall loss.

Same system used for different areas of our business where we had different POS systems in past. Easier for administration, bookeeping, etc.

Solid option for multiple locations and operations

They will still charge your card after cancelling. They will refuse to let you close your account even after restaurant shutting down. They initially told me that there was no contract and it was on a month to month basis but later discover that they secretly inserted a 36 months contract into our agreement. 

RIP OFF - They are not honest

I have been using Revel POS for our family business for just over a year. The software has been great from the beginning ,but the customer support and tech support was very poor quality. Over the past year it has made a big turn around. I would now recommend this software to anyone wanting to get a robust POS.

Vast improvements

 Revel Systems POS is a very powerful tool that is well-supported, constantly undergoing updates and improvements (and that our salesman and installer have been very easy to work with!)   I have generally found tech support to be responsive and they have usually always helped me resolve any issues.

Revel POS--a powerful tool for hospitality and retail

Revel is a great software and I've enjoyed working with it for my first restaurant. It seems to be very customizable and reliable as we've never had any issues with down time.

Outsourced overseas customer service is not friendly or easy to deal with.

Revel has been great for our restaurant. We needed something more tailored to our needs as we have grown. Revel has a great feature set and it has greatly smoothed out our operations.

Perfect for our cafe!

Although it’s an innovative product, the quality of customer service is horrible. Three of our restaurants in Europe run on Revel and we have seen significant decrease in stability / consistency. Frequent updates in recent months have caused complete service failure during lunch time (as updates seem to come in at exactly that time). Our account manager is basically helpless, and can only offer us to pay hefty fees to their consultants as well as VIP services in order for us to get support. Far behind NetPos which we use in our other outlets!

We halted now the implementation of Revel across our 5 restaurants concepts with 70 outlets and are looking to switch to another provider. Further we tried to implement our mobile app with Revel’s API, turned out it is basically unusable at this stage due to limitation of calls we can make to it.

Having worked in the industry for 8 years, i have experienced different POS's systems. LightSpeed really offers a easy to use and user friendly platform, which makes working in high paced environments efficient.
Also there customer service is really responsive, which is very useful in the restaurant industry. Strongly recommend.

Simplicity with a complex offering

I have tried to use Kounta as inventory module to XERO, but I have found that the systems don't talk to each other to create the account Payable for the suppliers and manage the Inventory in XERO. I have to enter the purchases in to Kounta and Xero, working twice for the same operation.

I have set up five different POS systems since 2000 and Kounta is by far the best and most flexible. 
Our business could not have grown as quickly, successfully or efficiently without it. 
Absolutely love the production printing set up. Nothing compares. 
Team this with Tyro EFTPOS and it's a total winner for fast bar service.

We were setting up our business and required a system that was not overly complex, could integrate with our systems already in place, would not break the bank and was easy to use. Great Product

Great Product for Seasonal Restaurants!

Overall, it is a good experience. The customer service is suitable and helpful. The system itself is easy to figure out. 

User friendly!

While originally using a completely outdated and problematic POS system, we were put in touch with the team at Kounta. They were explained as being the most genuine team in the business, but always on hand to help and with a system which really spoke for itself.

Not only was the recommendation totally correct, I am now the one spreading the word of just how simple the transition was, and how happy we are with the product. 

Not only is it a really easy system to set up and organise, especially with the helpful team over at Tech Panty - a shout out to Andy who is such a 'yes-man' and always on the problem solving case - , we were completely changed over on such a tight time limit with absolutely no stress from our end.

We've been up and running for a few weeks now, and staff members who were completely dedicated to the old systems are now totally sold on the new system Kounta has provided. It is an easy system to set up, use on a day to day basis and fills all of the reporting tick boxes you can have. 

The fact that these teams have worked in hospitality really shows through the product; it's set up like it has been trialed for a number of years with all issues that could have arisen already ironed out.

Overall they have a nice POS interface and it is pretty stable. Their pricing is also pretty good for the base system.

Then they're arrogant as hell about it. Don't even get me started on how painful, slow and counter-intuitive the backend is.

Terminals went out of sync with each other and caused major problems with ordering and reports, affected customer service. Every time Apple does an update the system does not work (2-3 times a year).

Terrible Company and even worst with the way they conduct their selves. Their sales reps are liars and only care about making the initial sale.

Send you the wrong parts or non working parts. Not to mention the troubleshooting fiasco just to find out what part is junk that they send you.

My completed invoices have gotten stuck between the Ipad and the back office and the payments have therefore not been received into Quickbooks until I discovered the problem.

The bets thing about Revel apart from the easy to use interface is the support team - I have been super impressed with the help I have received in setting up my new POS Revel system.

This is a great POS for any restaurant. As a server, I found it to be easy to adapt to and highly customizable.

Be EXTREMELY careful using this POS it is underdeveloped and has costed us hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses over the last two years (contract period we were unable to terminate).

Such as a set menu with course options. Level of integration is extremely poor.

Its functions at the time we bought were nice and feel we can do a lot  of things if they approached it with more commitment. It was way ahead of competitors when it launched.

Revel has a lot of features that allow us to easily keep track of our visitor numbers and inventory. The system is very easy for our staff to use and it requires very little training.

Support staff are very nice and try hard to help, but there is some language barrier with every support staff member 24 hours a day.
