Pros

Overall they have a nice POS interface and it is pretty stable. Their pricing is also pretty good for the base system.
The bets thing about Revel apart from the easy to use interface is the support team - I have been super impressed with the help I have received in setting up my new POS Revel system.
Was a great price and it integrated seamlessly with my QuickBooks Online software.

Pros

I like using TouchBistro because is easy to use and has a lot of helpful tools. The customer service is great and every time I have a technical issue is resolved quickly.
The POS itself is super super easy to figure out , it was getting all the equipment and setting up the wireless that I struggled with. Get help where you need it most.
The most useful tool for me is reporting. The ease of adding removing and repricing is also a favourite.

Cons

Then they're arrogant as hell about it. Don't even get me started on how painful, slow and counter-intuitive the backend is.
Terminals went out of sync with each other and caused major problems with ordering and reports, affected customer service. Every time Apple does an update the system does not work (2-3 times a year).
Terrible Company and even worst with the way they conduct their selves. Their sales reps are liars and only care about making the initial sale.

Cons

The biggest problem is that they oversold and under delivered. They told me that all my current printers would work with their requirements.
We never used hey second of their service and still they stole our money. High pressure criminals who will do ANYTHING to get your money.
I purchased an extra piece of equipment and returned it for my money back but it got lost on their end and I ended up being out several hundred dollars and no follow up after many attempts.

I finally found a system that i am not looking to change for a bit!!!!

Pros

Best customer service on the market!! Try touchbistro , (worst) ,Tryed Shopkeep (un par with revel) tried lightspeed(i would say below average!! t I had lots of weird request and lots of demand since my businesses go from table service to quick service to Grocery store! i Called then countless of time during setup and never waited more then 1 minute for service ! Also on all the wierd request i had they were able to make 90% of them work! , not ounce i had the system crashing on me ! not like that famous TB .. witch was almost a monthly thing !

Cons

Lots of add on that you have to pay extra monthly fee that actually should be ether cheap or sell as a package! After you sign ,and get you stuff! you Rep become almost unreachable ! and its get hard to get add on!

Touch Bistro: Great for the Independent Business

I've been using Touch Bistro since 2013 and it has only got better over the years. They are a very dynamic company with frequent updates which serve to keep your system always performing better with greater functionality and better reporting. Every update is like a little present in which you can unpack more and more features! Their support network has never failed us in our dire times of need when your mac mini crashes 30 minutes before service. This to me is one of the most important functions of a POS provider and Touch Bistro has always been easily reachable and more than happy to get us back up and running.

price, ease of use and support system in place

Cons

lacks some of the functionality of the big POS systems but frankly independent businesses do not need all that horsepower

Very Easy to set up and use

Pros

I compared 10+ tablet POS systems before purchasing TouchBistro. It is very user friendly, affordable and easy to customize.

Cons

My least favorite thing is the way it handles credit card voids. Instead of being able to void a charge, you have to create a new negative ticket and run the card again. It is clunky and not at all intuitive.

Very easy to use, very easy to make changes quickly. Set up and hardware set up is easy as well. I also feel it is great to have the mobile reporting

Cons

Reporting can be a little quirky, and programming inventory is time consuming. Compared to other systems for the money it's a great value

Touch Bistro keeps very good track of my inventory and sales. Makes the back office management a much easier job.

Cons

Learning all the systems at my disposal is quite difficult because it takes too much time. Once in play, though, they are excellent.

Terrible Customer Service

If you are an IT wizard and do not require much training this may be the system for you. My fear is that when something does go wrong when I go live that getting a hold of customer service will be impossible.

Pros

The system seems much more user friendly than your typical cumbersome POS systems like Aloha or Micros if you can get it setup.

Cons

Customer service is absolutely the worst. They require a 3 week lead time for all training and install appointments, I am building a restaurant from ground up and it is very difficult to know 3 weeks out where construction will be. The only department that responds promptly is sales, no other department puts any priority on follow ups. I asked to speak to someone in executive management and was told they are unavailable. So I reached out to the CEO Alex Barrotti through LinkedIn (seems this is the only way to contact anyone in executive management) and I received some condescending reply about how customer service works comparing install and training appointments to taking reservations for my restaurant. Clearly the poor customer service culture comes from the top.

Easy intuitive, easy to train, simple interface that makes it accessible for first time users and experts alike.

Cons

Not compatible with android systems. Not a fan of Apple products. If this system could be moved to different iOS it would be implemented in more establishments

Could be great...

It's clear that someone in the industry designed this product. It is very intuitive and has almost all of the functionality you can expect in the much more expensive pos systems. There are the occasional glitches, and some things that could be better, but 26 years in the restaurant business has exposed me to just about all of the major POS systems, and TouchBistro's functionality is in the top 10....

Pros

If you can use an iPhone, you can use this system. Easy to program, use, and manage. The cost is a fraction of other systems with similar functionality.

Cons

There is no support when something goes wrong. The support/help line takes hours to days to respond, no matter how immediate or critical the problem is.

Kitchen display is a huge dissapointment

Good for small restaurants only. For large restaurants. This system is not ideal. Too laggy and slow. The kitchen display systems fail daily that we don't even rely on it anymore.

Love the ease of use!

The ability for my front of house staff to serve customers quickly. We no.longer have a problem with them stacking tickets on the kitchen because they ring the orders in right there.

Pros

The functionality. Very easy to train new staff on the system even if they have never used a.POS system before.

Cons

That it does not close out the day automatically. We have to pay a manager to close down everyday to ensure it is done before the morning shift. The other systems we have used automatically closed down at a certain time.

The people you'll meet during the sales cycle are responsive and pleasant.

Cons

The system is not intuitive to people who've used other POS systems. It's hard to figure out how to get around. Also, there support organization never answers the phone and when they call you back may or may not address your issues.

Exceptional tab-splitting functionality and superb customer service!

Pros

We were looking for POS solution that offered enhanced tab-splitting and customer checkout capabilities. Of all the vendor applications we reviewed (and it was an exhaustive search...), TouchBistro was the ONLY one the not only met our needs, but far exceeded them! With the help of TouchBistro, we can now handle any and every checkout scenario customers throw our way. And many thanks to the customer service reps that initially trained our staff and continue to answer questions that come up from time-to-time!

Cons

The only things I would like to see TB expand upon are its reporting and customer relationship management capabilities. Give us the ability to create custom reports and mine the data that is already stored within TB. Cheaper POS systems we reviewed have much more robust reporting options. Give us the ability to store customer information and reporting on customer-based sales (i.e. who are my top customers, who were my top customers that haven't visited recently, etc.). Again, cheaper POS systems offer these features and integrate with 3rd party vendors like Constant Contact and MailChimp.

TouchBistro smoothes out management worries!

Prior to using TouchBistro, my brewery was using several different systems (cash register, cc With TouchBistro, not only have we been able to reduce our transaction times to mere seconds, we now have "one stop shopping" for all of our necessary business data like sales, labor, inventories.

Pros

I like the ease of daily use, set up, and how I can change menu items in less than a minute!

Cons

The Cloud Reporting is currently still in beta phase. I really wish all the bugs were ironed out.

TouchBistro POS Review

When I first saw TouchBistro POS sponsoring restaurants on a Gordon Ramsey television show, I thought if he recommended it maybe we needed it as well. I am not at all disappointed by this decision I have made. Traditional tickets are out the door now thanks to this lovely system. You've made our business run smoother, which means more happy customers.

Pros

The TouchBistro POS system is a very easy to use. I don't find myself to be the best at POS systems, but the setup process was basically idiot-proof. Getting everything to work took way less time than I anticipated. Also, I have yet to see this POS system crash, even during busy hours.

Cons

Sometimes there can be a little lag when putting in certain orders. It seems like the POS system is sometimes just trying to play catch up with itself. We have noticed that moving from page to page oftentimes will slow it down. We have learned to not click as quickly now though.

TouchBistro for Bar Industry

Again, TouchBistro has a legit inventory tracking system, you just have to set aside a few hours a day for a few weeks to make it worth it. Also, I have enjoyed simple things like the images I can add to each menu item. It seems silly but in the bar industry we know there are hundreds of tequilas, so when I have a new bartender and a customer orders Don Julio 1942-when my bartender goes to the menu, they can see exactly what the bottle looks like and know what to look for!

Pros

I love the inventory tracking that is available with this POS system. That being said, it does take ALOT of ingredient entry and programming on your end but it is worth it! I also think their customer service is great! We have a direct email contact and Monday through Friday you can logon to their website and chat with an associate.

Cons

I am used to a lot of other POS systems so this just took getting used to. I definitely referenced their "How to step by step" references for a few items. I had to figure out some work arounds in order to account for all inventory. For example, in past systems I've used, if I rang up a shot of Jim Beam bourbon, there was a modifier button for 'Double Shot' and it would automatically deduct $2.00 off the second shot and account for the inventory. In TouchBistro my option was a discount code with a custom modifier that I type in, but it wouldn't account for the inventory, so I had to add a separate menu for 'Double Shots' which wasn't the worst thing but again, a lot of time.

TouchBistro: Easy to use, fantastic customer service

TouchBistro was quite buggy for us, especially in the beginning, but their customer service team is top-notch! Quick to respond to any issues and receptive to implementing suggested features. While there are a few major needs for improvement on reporting, I feel like TouchBistro has grown with our business as we have had the opportunity to customize it to our needs with the TouchBistro support team.

Pros

One of the only restaurant POS systems that has a search function for servers. 5 stars for the ability to hold credit card information for tabs. Backend menu and employee management is the simplest I have ever used. Very user friendly and intuitive. New features and products are being rolled out often and TouchBistro was very supportive of their restaurant partners through Covid.

Cons

Creating and managing the floor plan is incredibly difficult and could be improved. Reporting and analytics are somewhat lacking and something I would like to see improved to be more in-depth and easier to access more information.

Being a midsize FSR in NYC all we wanted was a modern yet simple POS. We were able to download the TouchBistro and try it for 30 days - after 5 days or so we realized how simple it was and were able to book a remote install and training. From the 3 POS systems we shopped TouchBistro was the "prettiest" and the pricing was what we deemed fair. Overall we are a happy TouchBistro customer in West Village, NYC.

After researching the market for new POS system for my newly established Cafe/Bar I found Touch Bistro to be superior to many products in the market. It is cost effective, easy to use, doesn't require specialized equipment (Only Ipad, printer and cash till), easy to install and learn on your own and requires minimum training for new staff. Pros

Dashboard and cloud reporting. ease of use.

Cons

Technical support seems to be overwhelmed and you can rarely connect with them when you need them most. They try to get back to you within 24 hours, but in most cases that's too long and have significant impact on our business.

I have a higher volume seafood restaurant in Key West Fl called The Stoned Crab. We wanted a system where wait staff could service multiple tables while taking orders with out having to go to a main terminal. Pros

Customer support, fast system, no internet needed to run, menu photos and special items to show to customers at table, data to watch your bottom line and a ton more.

Cons

No chip card swipe yet, I would say more program features, but when I asked for more they made more. I am having trouble with this part as the programming can be a bit tech, but they help you and then your good.

Great Price, Missing a Few Features

Overall, the product is so far very stable and easy to set up. It always takes a time to get acclimated with new systems, but this one is pretty intuitive and they have some good videos/tutorials to get the staff up to speed. Having used it for a couple weeks now, there are a few features that are hard to work around. One is the fact that you can't have an inclusive tax on select items (alcohol)....

Disappointment

Customer support has long wait times - usually 40 minutes or more. You may have to talk to 3 or more people to get the right answer. It is very frustrating when you have high volume and issues and no one to assist you. Expect chargebacks and no assistance. You have to log into several different systems to research the chargebacks. They do not send timely notifications and you only have 5 days...

Pros

I purchased, set-up and use the system the most. It was easy to purchase and onboarding was pretty simple.

Cons

They sold me the idea of a great product. We purchased it during COVID and were promised many bells and whistles. First issue - you have some features in the cloud and some features on the Ipad that don't sync. Features - so many features were missing when we signed up with Online Ordering - partial refund, Apple Pay, Google pay, order correction prior to order complete. The list goes on and on. They are definitely light years behing Toast, Square, and even Clover. We have Clover too and I was leaving them to go to Touchbistro. I am glad that we did not leave t
