Pros

Excellence experience, great customer support and wonderful tutorials and training features.
The one thing that impressed both my co-chair and I was the amazing customer support. The people we spoke to knew their product and provided the help we needed.
The best feature of Silent Auction Pro is the support. I also loved the ease of sending communications to our bidders.

Pros

We absolutely loved the onboarding support and the monthly support we are receiving. We love how there is the opportunity to ask a question by clicking the chat box.
The best part of Network for Good is the ease of use. The built-in information tips and help guide you every step of the way.
I smile thinking about where we will be at this time next year because I know the Network for Good team will continue to coach and encourage us on towards excellence in the fundraising field.

Cons

I had some trouble using the messaging features like emails. Hard time getting it formatted the way I wanted it and it lost some of our graphics after posting.
They had horrible customer service and wanted to know WAY to much personal information about me in order to open an account. But that isn't Silent Auction Pro's fault.
If you are looking for a platform on which to manage your silent or live auction – onsite or virtual – look no further.

Cons

What’s worse is that we discovered this accidentally, they already know about it because of complaints, and don’t seem interested in fixing it.
I was getting advice from too many people -- but the advice consisted of links to things that made no sense at all to me. I complained somewhat loudly about this issue.
If I had one complaint it's that the one-on-one training sessions are 30 minutes rather than 45 or 60 minutes.

Being able to network, print cation, print bid sheets, cross check bidders with how many items they buy, we sent out blasts about items for sale, eventually online ticket sales and sort items

Pros

My favorite part of this program is that it is always in live time. Anyone on my team can look at it at any time and it's always up to date. Which means it is also a networking tool as well.

Cons

I wish that once my donors logo is uploaded it would follow the donor on all printed materials., including bid sheets. I also would like to be able to export addresses of both the donors and bidders without having to have Microsoft office. In addition just being able to print a list with just addresses.

Cons

None that come to mind - make some enhancement around the pictures.

I will definitely use Silent Auction Pro for our next fundraising event. The ease of use, price, and functionality of the website were good for my team and I.

Pros

I like that the staff at Silent Auction Pro continually checked up on me to make sure that I understood everything that needed to be done before my fundraising event. This was my first time using Silent Auction Pro and that was a HUGE help. I also found the videos very helpful when learning how to use the system. My team and I found Silent Auction Pro easy to use and user friendly.

Cons

I didn't like that you are unable to create tickets without a person's name assigned to it. We have sponsors that are gifted anywhere from 2-10 tickets. Sometimes they use the tickets within the company and other times they give them to their customers. The system wasn't easy for my team to find the correct company since it was assigned to a name, not a company.

Hi Theresa - thank you very much for the review! Regarding tickets having to be assigned to a person rather than a company. We do have a Company field in the contacts form and if you use that it will show up when searching for tickets to assign to a guest. As covered in the Best Practices, if you do not have a contact name for a company, use a first name of "Community Supporter" (or something like that) and put the company name in the Last Name field as well as in the Company field. This will make it easy when searching for tickets, and will also work for the Thank You letters. Jim

Great tool with lots of features and support

It is a great tool and easy to use donor management system. To get the most out of your experience use your event coaches. Create a list for yourself of all the things you want to do and want to use, and they can help ensure you are using the shortcuts available and tools/features to make your event a success.

Pros

The software is very easy to learn and use. No matter your skill level it is easy to maneuver through the system to input information and keep track of your donors. It is a great donor management system and works well for your fundraising event.

Cons

I wish the photos for the mobile bidding looked a little better. There are guidelines available in help section to help ensure you use best format and size for the images. All and all they look good, but I know this is a feature they are continuing to update and I'm excited for any updates to this. However, our event still went well and mobile bidding was easy for all our bidders to use

The stats after the auction were very helpful. I liked how it kept all donations organized and were easy to ship out after.

Cons

The website looks a little outdated, could use a good update. Not bad content, though. Not much more to say.

Silent Auction Pro - Great Value & Met All Our Needs

This was our second year using Silent Auction Pro for our annual special event and our first year using the mobile bidding function. It offers all the functions we need to run a great event that includes silent and live auctions and Fund-A-Cause. The price was excellent compared to another platform we researched, and we have always found our event representative to be very helpful from beginning to end.

Pros

The wide variety of functions combined with good customer service and a great price.

Cons

Not all functions and reports are intuitive to me, but they have excellent instructions, training videos and customer service - making learning the functions easy.

Very good to excellent.

Pros

First and foremost, we were thrilled to raise more than $10,000 from our previous online auction. I was super impressed by the customer service and support before, during and after running our auction. The software is easy to use from both the administrative side and bidder side. The software is aesthetically appealing. It attracted our usual bidders as well as those (of an older generation) that were hestitant with using eBay. We received many comments from our bidders that they liked this software.

Cons

Would like features added to the software that deal with shipping items. For example, would like to be able to assign shipping charges to an auction item that the bidder can view when bidding. Also, would like ability to add multiple photos for an item.

Great software for charity auctions!!

Overall, I am extremely pleased with this software. I was totally immersed in it, learning every possible feature and application, to ensure that we got the maximum use.

Pros

Silent Auction Pro is an all-inclusive software charity organization events or online auctions for fundraising efforts. It manages contacts, monitors donations, item bundling, integrated credit card processing, and a lot more. The full-featured Silent Auction Pro also supports mobile and online bidding. This will allow organizations to attract more bidders from all around the world and increase their profits. Not only can they raise more money for their charity work but they are also able to spread the word about their efforts and even appeal to more supporters.

Cons

Special characters are not readable in the software for donation title, so I have had to change certain titles once they get loaded into the system as an auction item. The special characters examples(for inch threw off the formatting of the data export to excel). Reporting is good but it would have liked a few more reports or the ability to create ad hoc reports.

The capacity of the software was not fully utilized with our online auction in 2020. We are excited to use this platform for a combined live/online auction. The customer support is so important and so good at SAP!

Pros

Product was easily customizable to our individual needs. We were able to get up and running quickly and convert our live auction to 100% online.

Cons

There is a learning curve, but there was never an issue encountered that the support team couldn't fix.

Great Web Based Fundraising Software

I would recommend this product to others, but would suggest that they not rush through the process of setting up auction packages. In order to encourage sales, take the time to make everything look and sounds good for maximum profit.

Pros

This software allows auctions and bids to go off without a hitch. This is a very simple to use product and allows a seamless process from beginning to end. I like that participants can pay with their credit card straight through the site to alleviate time from my staff.

Cons

The setup of my account and event took some time, but after that I didn't experience any issues.

Silent Auction Pro is easy for anybody to "pick up," which is good since the team running the auction has an almost yearly turnaround. Also, the customer support is phenomenal, if and when I do need to talk to someone about features.

Pros

I have been working Silent Auction Pro for many years now for our auction fundraiser. We have a silent and live auction portion and this program works perfectly for all our needs. There are still even more cool features that if we took the time to look through a bit, we could make things run even more smoothly (i.e. notifying winners of their winning bids, creating thank you cards for afterward, etc.)

Cons

It'd be nice if we could change font size on bid sheets - we have an elderly clientele and I know the sheets might be hard to read for them.

With out a doubt a very good software package and great staff to back it up.

Pros

Silent Auction Pro coaches were always available to answer questions, even on the weekends. They are kind, patient and very knowledgeable in answering questions, as well as fixing user errors. Our coach even would even go in and double check our entries to make sure we had set everything up correctly.

Cons

I wish there was a simple manual on how to manipulate the data.

New to Online Auctions

We've only been hosting an Auction for our preschool for a few years, but wanted to try out the online option. Silent Auction Pro seemed like a good fit for our process so we gave them a try. Our event was more successful than in previous years, we raised 22% more than last year, which was super great. The staff at Silent Auction Pro were very helpful and very present. It was easy to get the support I needed!

Pros

The customer service was really great. I probably had a billion questions and their "Help" information and videos online answered most of them, but I had a couple of extra ones I needed support on. The team was really great, supportive and answered all of my questions. Another "pro" was earning extra money, going online really worked!

Cons

I wish the software was a little more intuitive, it was a bit of a learning curve for me. But honestly, I know there is so much going on behind the scenes, a software would have to read my mind for me to really understand it! I also wish we didn't have to get a merchant account. I knew I wouldn't use it and it was a lot of extra steps (and stress) for something that didn't impact my system.

Tremendous system for making charity auction easier to set up

Set up and run the event solely from volunteer committee without having to contract with other services for ticketing or check in/out. Handle high volume auction and attendee counts with smaller committee.

Pros

Donation entry was intuitive and loved that we could pull up items donated before so that we didn't have to retype everything. Demo environment allowed us to get committee members up to speed quickly and also allowed us to practice on some creative set up to meet our auction needs. Ticketing feature offered a variety of ticket options, some only displaying with a promo code, and love the addition...

Cons

Special characters aren't allowed in donation title so we had to change once they got loaded as an auction item. Special characters in the description like " for inch threw off the formatting of the data export to excel. Reporting is good, but would have liked a few more reports or the ability to create ad hoc reports. We found one report provided this item, but another report provided this item so we had to export to excel and do look up functions which is tedious to do each time. Would like more options for formatting of bid sheets, and also would like to see some additional options with displaying, leveraging the "Donation Tag" feature which is critical for us as our teams need to be identified. Would like filters on lists as well.

“Silent Auction Pro Is The Way To Go”

We had a trial auction this past weekend & only 1 issue & that was operator error on sending out texts to donors, so we will correct this for our large event in a few months. Silent Auction Pro gets a “A PLUS”!!!

Pros

The software is very user friendly after taking the time to go over all the options & get familiar with it. The demo option is good & the help tips are very beneficial. The peace of mind for me is knowing that [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] & the other Sales staff is a phone call away to answer any questions we have. Super friendly staff & never had to leave a voice mail even on a Sunday our call was answered.

Cons

Some of the U tube videos from the help tabs were outdated (2014). It would be nice to have 2 log ins at the same time.

love all the training videos love the help via phone and emails love that most of my questions were attended to in a timely fashion

Cons

A little difficult to add images to the cover page. Not sure why there is a cover page the link took people directly to the donation button, maybe, this is a good technique, but I feel like we were not able to get our mission and logo to those participating.

Really Good Auction Program

Once you play around with the program, it seems to be pretty user friendly. And what you do not know how to do or are having trouble with, there are lots of tutorials to lead you through the process. Plus the support staff is excellent and amazingly helpful.

Pros

A good way to track all donations and purchases. There are many features which make this very easy. The check-out system is pretty user friendly and works well. The support staff at SAP are great to answer questions and lead you through the process.

Cons

The first ticket purchase by a buyer only allows for the purchasers name, and does not let you reassign the name to someone else right away – you have to go back in and readjust. It worked but is a little bit clunky. A lot of data entry. As we were using this for the second time, some bits were easier as we could pull from past donors info. The bid sheets selected the donations that were entered first, which were not always the biggest selling points when bundling Setting up the bar tickets was a bit messy. Would be nice to be able to pull more specified reports from the program. Customize the report formats.

Silent Auction Pro makes silent auction process simple and easy to use

The software is very simple and easy to use. There are features and functionality that can be improved, however, overall the whole process save you time and money. Highly recommended for fundraising events.

Pros

Ease of use and simplicity of the process.

Cons

Image upload is very limited to what is set in the system and color customization is not available. It will be nice if you can add more image in the registration page to at least match the event website. Data archive is very limited. You have to back-up data after each event, otherwise, it's gone. They're very good in sending reminders, however, having the data archive for future use provides convenience and assurance that at least you have a copy or your data in Silent Auction Pro.

Thank you for the review Helna! Just to clarify - we ABSOLUTELY DO keep all your data for each event so you don't have to back it up. All contacts, attendees, donations, payment transactions, everything is still in the system and hosted for a year from your paid event. I think perhaps you are not understanding where to find your archived data. We've also added a new feature that allows you to upload an additional image for auction items. -Jim

Love this program!

I have been using Silent Auction Pro for the past 5 years for our Kiwanis Club of Napa annual Crab Feed fundraiser. This is always a big job but using this program makes it a lot easier for me. The bid sheets are prepared through the system and all I do is print them out the day before the event and it's easy to make edits or changes after. This program also generates thank you letters after the event. There is always good support available when needed. I would recommend this to anyone having a fundraiser or event! Thank you Silent Auction Pro.

Silent Auction Pro

Silent Auction Pro - VERY HAPPY!

We've been using Silent Auction Pro (SAP) for 6 years now. We moved from using an Excel spreadsheet which became very hard to manage since our donations were increasing. The functionality fit us perfectly along with a price point that we could afford. For each of the 6 years, we always have question that come up and the SAP customer service always responds in a timely fashion. The use of SAP also has minimized if not eliminated the auction customer issues we encountered while using a spreadsheet to manage everything. I would highly recommend using SAP for anyone want to run a silent auction!

UI has some room for improvement. Add some functionality options for processing invoices.

Silent Auction Pro Made Our Event a Breeze - A++++

We chose Silent Auction Pro because it seemed to have all the functionality (and more!) we needed and it was in our price range. We were so happy with the software and the support. The team was very responsive and patient. Our event couldn't have gone more smoothly. Check-in, check-out, follow-up. It was all good. We are very happy customers and will be using Silent Auction Pro again next year for our annual Gala Auction.

First experience with Silent Auction Pro

Managing a remote, virtual auction isn't easy but Silent Auction Pro made it as easy as I can imagine!

Pros

I had the distinct pleasure of working with Silent Auction Pro’s auction software and “coach” [SENSITIVE CONTENT]. Initially they were to support a live event with both a silent and a live auction, but Covid had other ideas and put us into a virtual Silent Auction. I am not a software wizard by any stretch of the imagination but found I was able to navigate Silent Auction Pro well with some brief instruction...

Cons

It worked for me without a hitch. Occasionally I had to try multiple tabs to find what I was looking for.

Overall, I have been very pleased with this product - would recommend to any nonprofit.

Pros

I love the user interface. Very easy to use, more features than many other crms. I have had great support experiences. LOVING the silent auction module!

Cons

It is more pricey than other, newer crms. If you use the payment processing (credit cards) you only receive the funds once per month so if you are dependent on daily batching for cash flow purposes, it is a long time to wait. I'm pretty sure you can get more frequent payouts but I'm not sure what conditions are tied to it.

Makes my Life Simplier!

very good so far!

Pros

This software is great because it combined several different platforms that we were using into one platform. Combined our email, donor and data management, silent auction platform, fundraising, and donor thank you platforms, into one platform. These has allowed us to track our communications with each donor much more effectively.

Cons

Some things are not easy to customize for special circumstances.

Couldn't be happier with my choice!

I've had great customer service, I think the price is right in line with other products and I'm getting a much better product. The conferences and webinars NFG puts on are really high quality. I get so much more than just software.

Pros

The features I love the most are the filter and grouping options in the donor management, as well as the easy to use fundraising pages that link to my website. OH! And I also really love the communication options. The emails are such a timesaver when sending a thank you and the option to send out newsletters is fantastic and makes me look very professional and modern.

Cons

I didn't like that there wasn't an auction function, but now that there is I have no complaints!

The pro on this one is the ease of use (sorta).

Cons

I have a new and small nonprofit and I did not find this software useful. Everything takes money to start up and as a small nonprofit I just don't have the money to put out. There could be a window of time to see if you can get funding and then you could join.

Worth the Price

Pros

This has helped us better monitor and stay engaged with our donors and help maintain current donors. We have seen a growth in donations that more than paid for the cost. This has also just made our donor management more organized and easier to manage.

Cons

I would like to have more reasonably priced features such as online auction and more scaled down options for event management. The $500 additional cost is not worth it for our events when we only need some of the features it offers.
