Pros

I have been very happy with this software and will be continuing to use it when I can. It is useful, great for data collection, and looks visually appealing.
I am a product tester/secret shopper and I love that companies care about your opinion of their products. I help them by giving pointers and voicing my thoughts about an item.
Easy to customize for your brand (with paid subscription), the question formats are all excellent and help you form questions in a more interesting manner than just check a box.

Pros

It allows for great collaboration, I like that I can customize using Java or HTML, and it also applies to many types of research. The other cores are also great.
I really like how comprehensive my questionnaires feel when using Qualtrics. It does an excellent job of separating my questions according to their topic/area.
Overall, the software is very good as it also supports app on phones which is very useful at times. Furthermore it has a wide range of language supports and has lots of potential to further improve.

Cons

The company's take on my dilemma was - "Pay for it" and you'll get the information you need. In my opinion they shouldn't bother having a free version of this software if it functions that poorly.
The problem most persons have is formulating the survey questions properly. If the survey questions and options are not structured properly you can not blame the software.
I hate the fact that everytime you do a survey they are repetitive you have to end up putting in all the same info all over again.

Cons

One other negative, you can't have two people working on a project at once - it gets buggy and changes get lost. It's also difficult to have two Qualtrics pages open in your browser at once.
There are only a few things that we have found the software incapable of doing, and they have been rather minor. We did request that the company add them to their "to-do" list.
The data analysis options offered within Qualtrics are weak, as are the data cleaning options. This is a non-issue for smaller, or non-scientific surveys.

surveymokey is better, and often cheaper

Can see the potential, but ultimately went back to Surveymonkey for ease of use.

Pros

They have a very robust platform for sorting data so you can look at whatever sets you need to look at.

Cons

Setting up the rules and generating the reports was more trouble than it was ultimately worth--needed to many calls to customer support.

Qualtrics CoreXM

Industry standard for survey research

Enjoyable experience; I don't feel frustrated by software that doesn't do what I need or that is overly complicated.

Pros

Easily write, edit, and send surveys that follow review board standards and maintain data privacy for participants. Qualtrics combines the ease of a Google Forms type application with the multitude of features needed to navigate quantitative and qualitative survey question data. Replicate questions, create multiple versions of a survey and save them, see participant completion rates and send out secure links easily as well.

Cons

Costs more than free options such as surveymonkey, etc. but the ability to save your data and see multiple outputs of that data is worth it.

Somewhat Complex Survey Solution

It seems like a reasonable product, but it seems to be a little complex. Looks good for those interested in data and analysis intensive needs, but not so good for simple needs.

Pros

The software seems capable of performing some of the more complex survey functions with some reasonable analysis associated with it.

Cons

The software is more difficult for most of the users. We recently switched from SurveyMonkey and as of yet, I haven't seen a big advantage, it just seems to be more cumbersome for most of our users.

Qualtrics CoreXM

Data Collection and Analysis Made Easy

We have used Qualtrics and SurveyMonkey for larger surveys (50-100 questions) about students' experiences and Qualtrics makes manipulating the date very simple. It's easy to filter and export the data if you want to use Excel to do a bit more digging.

Pros

I primarily use SurveyMonkey, Google Forms, and Qualtrics for surveying my students. Qualtrics is adopted by our University on a wider scale and we have access to all features. Qualtrics is a very capable, easy to use tool. There are a lot of helpful resources online that can be used to make the most of the features.

Cons

If you are looking for a short and quick form to collect simple data, like signups, that don't require any data analysis, it is often easier to set it up in Google Forms or O365 than in Qualtrics. Qualtrics needs many more clicks for a simple survey than other (free) options.

Qualtrics CoreXM

Sooo much better than Survey Monkey

Pros

I love the graphical UI which makes it easier to organize question types and to build surveys. After years on Survey Monkey I did not realize how much room for improvement there was. We adapted it in the College of Engineering at UC Berkeley and nearly all of the faculty (myself included) preferred it to SurveyMonkey. The ease of website integration is also a major plus.

Cons

The cost is a bit high - I looked into an individual license after leaving the university. It becomes a quality decision - think of this as the Lexus of survey tools.

Good Reps to Help You

Pros

The thing I liked most was having the ability to call Qualtrics for help with setting up our surveys. We have been fortunate to work with the same person on two surveys so far. Qualtrics does a great job in asking you questions to figure out what you are really looking for in survey responses. We have done freeware like SurveyMonkey but were not getting the reach we were looking for in responses. Qualtrics had a great survey interface that is customizable among several different themes.

Cons

Qualtrics does a great job. I don't think anyone will regret working with them. Call in for help.

Qualtrics CoreXM

Surveys Made Easy

We were a campus that used SurveyMonkey and researchers would send their survey to our office to create, distribute, and generate reports from. Now with Qualtrics each researcher has their own account and create, distribute, and review data at will. It has dramatically increased our utilization of the survey tool and created less complications for our IRB committee to review products in. Now the data is safe in the hands of the researcher and not a third party. We are thrilled with how easy Research Core is to use and how well the product is being adopted!

Pros

Qualtrics is very easy to use and puts the ownership of survey creation and data collection in the hands of the surveyor. With Research Core you get all the bells and whistles without any added stress of learning a new tool. In a matter of minutes you can create a survey and begin collecting data. Implementation was a breeze with dedicated training and guidance from Qualtrics. We recently changed our authentication method and Qualtrics Support did a great job in getting our login changed over in a matter of minutes. AMAZING!

Cons

My only complaint about Qualtrics is the creating or sharing of survey distribution lists. They are easy to create/use, but our institution does not have them readily available for use.

Qualtrics CoreXM

So versatile, easy

I've been using survey software for almost 10 years now. We recently switched to Qualtrics from Fluidsurveys (acquired by SurveyMonkey) and have absolutely no regrets. Building surveys is extremely easy and their library with predefined choice options & questions is a real time saver. Via their API we are able to present survey results directly to clients through our own platform. Yes, maybe Qualtrics is a bit more expensive than other SAAS solutions out there, but I haven't seen any organization delivering support as good as they do. We are a small professional services firm and at first I thought Qualtrics was (purely) focused on large enterprises. But honestly, I feel like a real valued customer.

Pros

Extremely versatile, easy to use, extensive knowledge library (university).

Cons

At first glance their workflow is different from other survey software vendors out there. But reading some articles on how to achieve advanced survey objectives, it totally makes sense.

Qualtrics is excellent all around, and has been the standard survey software among academic researchers for years for a reason. However, while the base platform is great, the organization is far from perfect. I had numerous issues deploying the offline app. After months of contacting support -- and getting zero explanation as to why my account, which was enabled for the offline app, could not access...
