Excellent Service

Reviewed 8 months ago

Excellent service and use for the past 10 years or so that I have had it. You have a customer for life.

Pros

I like the way it works with multiscreen I briefly tried another simiar service no where close. I like the quick sign on.

Cons

I wish the price to put it on a 2nd computer was cheaper. When I first started with you, there was a 2 machine price that was very reasonable. I had it on my work and home computers. Made life very easy. When you changed the price structure I had to eliminate it. I have it on my personal desktop and would like to be able to go back to work laptop as well. Willing to pay a little more, just not as much as you charge now. This is my only wish, but I have learned to live without it.

An essential part of our business

Reviewed 5 months ago
Pros

It is imperative I have access to the business information as all the paperwork is done remotely. This product allows this to happen. As a small business owner, this product is the best way to accomplish this very important task. There were no problems in setting up this software and any questions I had were answered promptly.

Cons

I can't think of any "Cons" with this product. I just hope the price doesn't increase so much that we can't afford to use it.

Great product overall

Reviewed 3 months ago

I really depend on GoToMyPC for remote work and being able to travel and access my files. It is dependable and the support team is responsive. I will continue to use it, and would love to see tiered discounts or some sort of appreciation pricing for being a customer for many years.

Pros

I like the accessibility I have from anywhere. It is very important that I have this access, and the peace of mind is fantastic.

Cons

I don't feel this software should be this expensive. Perhaps you can tier the cost for the functions used and give savings where they are not used (file transfer, etc). I would really like for more people in my office to have this software, but it is out of reach for our charity. Perhaps charity or bulk pricing? Discounts for being a customer for many years?

Work from Anywhere!

Reviewed 8 months ago

I love this product because I can work from wherever I am physically located. I would hope that the owners of this software lower the price so that many other lower paid individuals can utilize it.

Pros

Integration with my business and the ease of use of this product are outstanding qualities of this software program.

Cons

The only negative is that this software's monthly fees are very, very expensive!

A Must-Have for Serious Remote Users

Reviewed 6 months ago
Pros

The software is plug-n-play. Once you log on, it's as if I am in front of my desktop computer. In fact, I prefer to use my laptop and connect to my desktop remotely, even though I am just sitting on my couch. I also love that I can work anywhere in the world as long as I have an Internet connection. It has allowed me the freedom to work remotely since 2001-ish. Without it, I could not do what I do and have the life that I have - being a stay-at-home mom and bookkeeper. I also forgot to mention the drag-and-drop feature for copying files from one computer to another is also a useful feature.

Cons

The price. Having used the software when it used to be under $100 per year to now paying over $350 per year is a little hard to swallow. However, I do use this software more than any other; so, I have justified the cost in that way.

Use of GoToMyPC at a Non-Profit Museum

Reviewed 7 months ago

I have been using GoToMyPC for about 10 years. I started when it was much more affordable, and I used it when I did research from museums and libraries to access my home computer. It was so useful that I stayed with the company even as prices went higher. When I started as a volunteer at the museum, I insisted that my colleagues also use it when they wanted to access the museum computers from home.

Pros

I am a volunteer in a town museum. My job is Collections Manager, and I also do research. If I didn't have GoToMyPC, I would not be able to work efficiently. I often work at home in the evenings, and the service enables me to access files I need to work on, update them, and then send them back to our main network computer. I can work on jpg files as well as tables, databases, and document files. Because I am the only person allowed to do certain functions within the museum software that we use, I am able to access the system at the end of the date to backup and re-index from home any work done by others at the museum.

Cons

However, our museum is a non-profit and can't afford to buy a subscription to GoToMyPC, so I have to pay for it myself. It is a large amount of money for a retired person on a fixed income to pay. But it makes my job so much easier that I just have to have it.

A good solution for enterprise, too expensive for personal use

Reviewed 3 years ago

I've used it for a while until I came across with TeamViewer and decided to switch. Overall Gotomypc is definitely a robust remote connectivity solution, but the pricing and the outdated UI makes it not the first choice for many people.

Pros

1. It delivers on what it promises - you can log in to a remote computer and work on it with minimal lag. 2. The connection is usually very stable and once you get familiar with the SW, it becomes a second nature to use. 3. It's one of the industry veterans, so the solution is pretty robust and reliable.

Cons

1. Feels so 1990... Everything looks and feels a little old-school, starting from their website and to the actual software UI. Some would not be bothered by graphics, though. 2. Pricing is not intended for personal use - if you just want to help out your parents, use TeamViewer. This is clearly targeted at enterprise with deep pockets. 3. Not as versatile as TeamViewer, lacks features like having one-time passwords for quick one-off remote sessions.

A User for Over 20 Years

Reviewed 7 months ago

I've been using it for over 20 years and can't be without it.

Pros

The ability to access remote computers via seeing & working on their screens rather than just seeing files. This is critical for not only working , but leaving on screen notes for host users.

Cons

The pricing is becoming very high. There isn't much I don't like about the software itself. It works very well.

Great!

Reviewed 11 days ago

I have 2 offices in 2 countries and I am doing the maintenance, updates with GoToMyPC. When I am travelling with a laptop, I am only using the laptop with GoToMyPC without having any data on my laptop.

Pros

I am using the product since more than 20 years. It a perfect way to do use it, when you have multi computer in different offices and still be able to work with it. I am not flying around with a laptop because I need more powerful computers. So GoToMyPC is the best solution.

Cons

Its expensive. There are less expensive software but they are not as good as GoToMyPC.

Does the trick but leaves a little to be desired

Reviewed 3 years ago

It does what it needs to and has some great features (files transfers, as an example), but given the pricing and the alternatives that are out there, I'd love to see some of the challenges get tackled down the road (primarily in the realm of latency and RAM usage).

Pros

Once installed, it's a turn key solution to allow for remote desktop access. We used these on windows machines and it made it quite easy to access from wherever we were.

Cons

I found that there was a lot of latency at times and there was quite often a need to restart the session as the keyboard would go unresponsive.

Use of GoToMyPC in law office

Reviewed 2 months ago

I have had many software programs for many years. Some are glitchy and buggy. Some are slow and limited in their capabilities. Some just do not work at all. And finally, some are so complicated that the learning curve is more consuming than their usefulness. That is not the case with GoToMyPC....it is simple and it always works.

Pros

In litigation, attorneys need to locate files and exhibits immediately. If not at the office, it is virtually impossible to find pleadings and supporting briefs immediately without GoToMy PC.

Cons

Each server computer is charged a full price annual subscription, even if those computers are on the same local network in the office. For example, I cannot remotely jump from my office desktop to my secretary's desktop...even though I am on the same local office network.

Best Value Remote Desktop

Reviewed 6 months ago

Overall very happy. I have been using Gotomypc for about the decade now. I have used other products some of them were more expensive and some were cheaper, but gotomypc seems to the best value.

Pros

Gotomypc is very easy to log into from mobile phones, tablets and other desktops. I use this connect to the main server computer. Love the fact that it is secure but the login process is still effortless.

Cons

Pricing is a bit on the high side and sometimes full-screen feature with screen resize doesn't work as intended.

Worth the money. Works anywhere

Reviewed 4 months ago

I have used and recommended this app on to my clients for many years. My own system off and on over the years. Just signed back up because of remote work ability. I trust this product. Checked out some other applications, and they were too complicated and not very user friendly.

Pros

Ease of use, Easy to set up. Like that i can change for faster or better appearance depending on what system I am connecting with.

Cons

The price. It used to be $20.00. My only complaint.

Could Not survive without my GOTOMYPC.COM

Reviewed 16 days ago

My uncle Art turned me on to GOTOMYPC.COM about 10 years ago, it was cheaper then yes, and probably signed up, now I do not know what I would do without it! Microsoft has a product that comes with their OS, but I much prefer this software.

Pros

The program has never let me down, even with the worst internet connections.

Cons

The software meets all of my simple needs: It simply allows me to connect to my office network, there is nothing to not like!

A Job Saver

Reviewed 4 months ago

This has been a job saver. I first started using it when I had my own small business and had all my important stuff on a "tower" computer at home but was traveling to take care of a parent and would just take my laptop. I could connect and use the CPU power of my tower while "working" on my cheap laptop. Then I had to have surgery and I was actually able is sit in the hospital bed and take of my business. During my 6 weeks of recovery at home, I could handle all my important duties and not have to stress. And during the "virus"... it was invaluable. I now use it to cut down my trips to the office due to gas prices and massive interstate construction.

Pros

Easy to use. Secure. Connect from basically anywhere.

Cons

I have to remind myself to make sure which printer I am sending my invoices to... office or home printer. A simple fix to add a popup. Not a major issue, just requires me to control my ADHD and pay attention.

Remote access

Reviewed 9 months ago

Overall, GoToMyPC does what is needed. It's probably not the cheapest option but it has been fairly reliable, expect the occasional times of lagging response.

Pros

* Fairly easy to set up. I am not sure I have all of the options set up but it works. * Remote printing works - you can print to either your remote printer or local printer.

Cons

* Dual monitor doesn't work as a true dual monitor. If you have a dual monitor setup on your computer and have dual monitors at a remote site, only one monitor will work. You have to scroll sideways if you can find the scroll arrow/button - it's so tiny I struggle to scroll between screens. I find it easier to unplug my second monitor on at the home site. If left plugged in, even when off, the remote location will recognize the dual monitors. * Sometimes, there is a noticeable lag in the connection. Othertimes, the lag is negligible - you know there is a lag but it's remote so it works.

In over 20 years, I think I've called for support 1-2 times and that was when I had a question about my bill. Very dependable service!!

Pros

This enables me to work from anywhere as long as I have an internet connection. My IT director told me about this program in the early 2000s and I've been using it ever since!

Cons

Price is a bit high, but it pays for itself in being able to work from anywhere.

Love, love, love this product!

Reviewed 3 years ago

Wonderful! Once my desktop app didn't work and I had to call for assistance, which I got promptly and it solved the problem. Again, I can't say enough about GoToMyPC!

Pros

I can't say enough good things about GoToMyPC. I live in the country and when snows it is difficult for me to safely get to work, and GoToMyPC enables me to work from home. It is like I am sitting at my desk! I can use absolutely everything, and can even send stuff to print and have it print out in my office. This software makes my life so much easier. I also use it occasionally when my boss needs something after hours. I have recommended this to several people actually.

Cons

I can't think of a single thing I don't like about this product. It could be a little cheaper but honestly, it does so much I can't complain.

Remote Connectivity

Reviewed 3 years ago

Allows one proprietary program to be used on multiple computers.

Pros

As I have a full time estimator utilizing my software on my server on a regular basis and he does not live in the same State, this remote connectivity allows him to run a proprietary program from my server on his computer.

Cons

Cost has gone up recently and if there are connectivity issues on either end it can be slow and jumpy.

Good stuff, but not cheap

Reviewed 6 months ago
Pros

It allows me to access our server in a remote location.

Cons

Cost - do you REALLY need to charge that much? It would be helpful, since we use more computers than we can afford to use your service, to also have occasional access.
