Learndash is exceptional for our online school

Reviewed 2 years ago

Learndash brought an incredible experience to our school, with the freedom to have our own online school and be able to customize it the way we wanted. The support is really good, super fast and they guide very well about anything. We've taken our courses a step further with a platform within our website. Everything was much more integrated and the way we wanted.

Pros

I really liked how it works to upload classes and the platform in general. Everything worked very well easy to post and is separated by course, insert users to assemble the course.

Cons

I was a little more confused when it came to customizing some internal parts, but the support was exceptional helping me with everything I needed.

LearnDash is an obligation in E-learning

Reviewed 2 years ago

My experience with LearnDash is one of a kind. As a tutor, this software has been of great help to me. It lets me control how I want my course to look, share my lessons with multiple classes, integrate with almost all systems, and make the learning process fun. Although LearnDash needs development in some areas, it is still the best software I used throughout my teaching journey. Nowadays, such softwares are very necessary in E-learning field; for that, I highly recommend LearnDash.

Pros

* LearnDash allows me to style my course the way I want it. * It integrates well with WordPress. * It provides the opportunity to sell courses online. * There are great sharing options. * LearnDash is easy to install and use

Cons

* The need for installing some plugins is a bit annoying. * Customization is a bit hard in some areas.* The need for add-ons to better the software functionality.

Great software and awesome support

Reviewed 4 years ago

It's great, the LearnDash support site and knowledge base are extensive and mostly very clear. It ensures constant progress and learning a lot in the process. Reaching out for support has been GREAT, these people (big shoutout to Ali) understand the value of going the extra mile for their customers. Also not stopping at their own product, but actively thinking along to see if connections with other plugins were what they needed to be. All this combined makes sure I will keep using LearnDash for future projects too, I'm a fan.

Pros

I like the fact that it's easy to use with a visual pagebuilder, easy to connect to a commercial tool like WooCommerce and that it comes with soooo many options to customize to the needs of the specific contents and users.

Cons

The variety of options are great, but also overwhelming at times. As a first time user from concept into production there was a lot of reading and Googling involved. Some options that would seem apparant to me (such as adding a log off button for users, having them be able to see their own answers to quizquestions after finalizing them, translating the system language to our own) were difficult to find info about and implement correctly. It's not a click and go type of software, but more than worth while thanks to the many options to cater to your every need and wish.

A Fully-Featured Learning Management System (LMS)

Reviewed 4 years ago

Our experience with LearnDash has been excellent. Before purchasing a LearnDash license, I was a little skeptical about how effectively this LMS software would improve the sites on which we offer courses and other protected content. After about 5 months of regular use, I believe the software does live up to the hype.

Pros

For our online courses and membership site, LearnDash' Quiz functionality has been particularly helpful. The ability to create quizzes with different question types (single choice, multiple choice, sorting choice, etc.) quickly and easily adds to our productivity and is one reason why we are able to retain our customers who attend these courses and/or sign up to our membership site.

Cons

There was a bit of a learning curve at the beginning, but the LearnDash knowledge base is more than adequate in helping the average user overcome early challenges with the software. We use LearnDash on a membership site - although the LearnDash LMS was able to protect the content, we found this functionality somewhat limited for what we wanted on our membership site and decided to purchase a separate membership plugin, i.e. Restrict Content Pro - this plugin works well with LearnDash.

The best online teaching platform

Reviewed 5 years ago

It’s the best online teaching platform.

Pros

We tried Thinkific and Teachable before we started using LearDash. Nothing compares to LearnDash. If you want to control your content and user experience, LearnDash is the best option. LearnDash allows you to decide how to present your courses, how to sell it and promote it. It integrates with WooCommerce and plenty of other plugins. Customer support is responding very fast.

Cons

Reporting tools could be better, now we are using a different plugin.

Great option for startups!

Reviewed 3 years ago

Very satisfied at this stage of my business, but as the business will grow, I think that LearnDash won't be sufficient enough to support the platform without some major updates.

Pros

Simple to set up. Like many different settings for payment options. and definitely like focus mode (even though it could be designed in more elegant way)! Software has many small, but useful features that add a nice touch to it.

Cons

The main downside is inability to offer discount coupons without expensive 3rd party plugins (unless you use WooCommerce which makes registration any payment process much longer). As a web designer, I am not particularly satisfied with in-built options for styling of the plugin and course display options. For basic use it is amazing, but if you want anything even slightly more custom, you need to dig into CSS to work around it. There are several features that I miss and believe that would make plugin much better, such as more advanced admin statistics, more sophisticated user panel, options to organise course materials (and to display them only to enrolled students).

Learndash is almost a perfect tool for digital courses

Pros

Easy system to use after you learn the basics, you have lot of options, like open a lessons only if the student passed the previous exam, and there is a progress data on every student.if you looking for a tool to create a internet course with exams, LearnDash can do the job for you.

Cons

-There is limitations with the design options -there is no option to reset the exam clock even if you close the window and start the exam again, the clock will continue from the last point.

LearnDash can be overwhelming but worth the time investment

Reviewed 4 years ago

Positive. I was able to make online courses and sell them online in a relatively short timeframe. The building process took a long time but having a custom-made LMS through WordPress gave me a lot of freedom and helped me build my business away from major course conglomerates.

Pros

LearnDash is incredibly customizable. If you have a vision of an online course then you can build it with LearnDash. It is a plugin for WordPress so knowing how to use WordPress is a requirement but that is most of the battle. LearnDash does a great job breaking down the process and has a great support community to help out when you get stuck.

Cons

The learning curve is immense. Many of the features are intuitive but it can be had to put all the pieces together. There are a TON of pieces and you need to know how to code to truly achieve full customization. That is the hardest part. Making sure you know where all the pieces are and how to use them correctly.

Hands down the best we tested and landed on

Reviewed 5 years ago

Overall it's been excellent. We use it every day to train our users and they've loved the way it works.

Pros

LearnDash has [almost] all the features needed for online courses. We use them for training courses. The course assembly, workflow, and quiz features are used on a day-to-day basis and extremely easy to manage. Extensions are available to make everything look better for the end user, and the price is not dirt cheap, but it's competitive. It's spot on for what it offers and we're extremely happy with it!

Cons

The only things that are lacking are able to be put in by modifying the code, which we have done. Since they're not available as features, it makes it a bit more time-consuming during updates (such as blocking courses or areas from users who aren't logged in, etc.)

Un LMS práctico yd e bajo costo

Reviewed 2 years ago

Finding LearnDash is the best thing I've done

Reviewed 5 years ago

I created a course 3 years ago and hosted it on Udemy. The course got great reviews from those who bought it, but the price I set for the course was $247 and Udemy has the ability to "discount" your course anytime they want. This allowed them to sell my course for $9. I did not want to promote my course for full price when the customer could go to Udemy and find it for just $9! I had no idea a program like LearnDash existed, and when I first found it I was skeptical that it could actually work as promised. To my very pleasant surprise, LearnDash not only met my expectations, but has blown me away! I would highly recommend LearnDash to ANYONE wanting to produce an online course. There is absolutely no reason to spend between $40 and $100 each month to host your course when LearnDash can do it all for a one-time purchase. Going with LearnDash is a no brainer.

Pros

Great platform that is robust and easy to use.

Cons

I have not found anything about the software I do not like.

Learndash sa LMS for school

Reviewed 3 years ago

It is easy to set and connect students with our online materials. Although we are using additional plugin for members, it offers simple membership separation between free and premium content users. I would recommend using LearnDash for education.

Pros

With 3.0 version it is great focus design with clean overview of courses, lessons and topic progress.

Cons

Dashboard for students is missing some design options. It would be grate to have examples which we can use.

Review for LearnDash

I think all of the staffs are very active and supportive. I really enjoy using LearnDash and will definitely recommend the software to my friends.

Pros

I think it's quite easy to use for those who have no experience in developing website. There is an online documentation to guide you for every step on how to construct the website (which is very helpful).

Cons

As far as I use, I don't have one right now.

Excellent LMS

Reviewed 5 years ago

This product covers all the basics needed for an organization who has basic learning needs (e.g. tracking for compliance/basic on-boarding and product information).

Pros

This is one of the easiest LMS's to implement if you have someone in your team who knows how to use WordPress.

Cons

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles like a Moodle LMS but has all the fundamentals to give your workers an online space to learn on.

Very good option for basic LMS functionality

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

If you have experience in WordPress, this platform is an incredible bargain and toolset. Most decent LMS options are developed for large organizations, and are priced accordingly (and by seat). For smaller companies or for situations where you don't want to pay per user (Customer facing training, etc.), LearnDash is a good option. It's pretty easy to setup and configure, and there are a bunch of add-ons and extensions that make it pretty powerful.

Cons

The only minor issues I have is customization. The simplicity of setup by using WordPress also means that you have a harder time customizing things to exactly what you want. Though, to me (and most of our users/customers) the default setup is typically pretty good anyway.

A reliable WordPress LMS (Learning Management System) to sell online courses

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

The one feature I have liked the most about LearnDash is its overall approach to creating a course structure. You can focus on and combine the different pieces of the puzzle: sections (these are modules, basically), lessons, as well as additional components like quizzes. The reason why I am a fan of LearnDash's approach is the fact that it enables you to look at the big picture, at the table of content and course structure first. Some LMS platforms are all about uploading the content ASAP but not LearnDash. It wants to make sure that you nail what contributes to a logical and fluent student journey. After that, you can focus on the content and learning materials.

Cons

While I have enjoyed LearnDash's approach to course creation, I do think that it could benefit from enabling users to see a preview of the course they're creating. In other words, I think that pairing the course structure creation with shaping the layout of the page or pages is something that would speed up and simplify things a little.

Good course creation plugin for WordPress

Reviewed 6 years ago

I've used LearnDash a few times for clients who wanted to house courses on their own websites. My own pitfall with LearnDash is that it isn't very user friendly. Also, we still need to add a membership plugin to create memberships if we wanted to set up recurring payments and protect content that wasn't involved with the course. However, LearnDash is customizable enough that we could stay on brand without risk of confusing users.

Pros

It allowed me to create courses for my clients right on their websites without needing to use a 3rd party. So everything is housed and branded for them specifically.

Cons

It isn't user friendly if you're not tech savvy. There's a lot of room for growth on the design front.

Vendor response

Thanks for your review Anissa! At the time of this review we are currently finishing up LD3. This will greatly improve the templates/design for the front-end, and also make things easier on the back-end for those not as familiar with WordPress. We think you'll really like these improvements! :)

Pros

LearnDash is not only easy to use from an end user perspective but as a developer it’s easy to extend and integrate with other software solutions. We’ve integrated LearnDash with AppPresser so our users can easily set up iOS and Android mobile apps powered by LearnDash features, capabilities, and content. In other words you can easily create a members based LMS mobile app via plug and play. 😎

Cons

The only con is that we didn’t start integrating with LearnDash sooner.

Awesome LMS for WordPress

Reviewed 5 years ago

This is something that was easy to get up and running quickly. It was useful in a project where the client didn't know what they wanted and couldn't articulate things to me. I was able to get this up and tweak things as needed to meet there requests after they were able to interact with it.

Pros

This LMS is easy to set up and is extensible. There are all sorts of plugins and add-ons you can use with it to make it meet your needs.

Cons

Sometimes you might encounter a particular question type or need that isn't supported. However, you can overcome this with add-ons or even creating something custom.
