Moodle is a main source that is used in my university(I am doing my Masters and working at the same time). It helps me to submit my homework and track deadlines. Although I am very good at using Moodle now, it took me a long time to get used to it.
First it is free source for students, so you do not pay anything. Second you can enroll for different types of classes just using enrollment key and this is very convenient. Besides Moodle shows you the deadline for different assignments and you can submit your university homework by using Moodle, which is very practical and easy. Also it allows you to track your GPA for each course, that you too before. Moodle recently added a group chat function, and this might be a great tool for team projects.
It is very slow. Sometimes it takes more that 1 minute in order to upload 1 Word file. This is quite embarrassing. Also it sometimes have serious technical issues and students do not have access to Moodle. Also, the interface of Moodle is not well designed and it took me a while to become familiar with it.

Moodle was set up to expand our current preparation frameworks, which are two unique LMS frameworks for two altogether different divisions of the organization. Moodle was the product that unified regulatory and other cross-divisional phases of preparation and permitted us to arrive at the whole organization as opposed to copying work in two unique frameworks.
In general, Moodle has been a really beneficial encounter for me. My group and I burn through generally little energy on Moodle creating new classes, courses, and tests. The organization of courses is smooth, and understudies may effortlessly gain proficiency with Moodle's UI
On every server we attempted to put it on, the recommended establishment method (directly from server console) didn't work for us. We finished setting up each occasion through the web (which is an exceptionally extraordinary choice).

The software is very smooth and barely have glitches. They also respond to our troubleshoot tickets quickly and accordingly. Overall, the ride with this product has been very smooth.
Online learning can be a bit tough for beginners or people who are used to face-to-face classes, but the use of moodle is very easy that it can even be used for very young students! Moodle is the main platform that being used by our college and overall has been a very helpful tool since the incorporation of hybrid classes into regular face-to-face classes, especially now that the campus is closed, but all the students are still continuing to learn online using this product.
Although the software has very limited features and is often compared to bigger and better products, I can definitely say that with the cheap fee that comes with it, this product is very worth it and has everything that we need.

I had online classes here and it's so easy to use this platform to get into my courses and stuff, Last year we use another software and it was a little bit harder to use and get into courses, nowadays we use this platform and it is so easy not only for me but also for my classmate and teachers
I really like the mobile class because you can access your class wherever you are, you just gotta have an internet connection to make it possible Also, I really appreciate having the course management and learner portal because these tools make the life of a student easier
video conferencing is not the best videoconferencing system but you can use it if you have no other alternative

Depending on the number of students and/or courses it may be worth learning how to use and fully customize Moodle. For small numbers I cannot say it is worth the time you have to spend with self training.
Getting started with it is not that difficult once you have read or watched the dedicated tutorials
I found it pretty difficult to customize the appearance of courses. In fact I gave up because I still think that the appearance of the course is not fully customizable (I couldn’t find out how after some months trying)

Moodle has been a great tool for us to create on-demand PD for teachers. It is easy to manage the content and offers asynchronous learning that is still social and allows teachers to interact with their cohort. We import SCORM packages as well as use Moodle's tools to create interactive lessons that are engaging.
The features that I like most about Moodle is that it is open-source, customizable, and is easy use for course creators and students.
Some of the reports I use frequently require too many clicks to access quickly.

It enables to create various types of courses and trainings. Enables integration with Zoom. Restorations of courses is a life saver!
I like the fact that is a fully customizable LMS. Enables many implementations. The use of plugins is a must!
Too much options that are not easy to understand. Not simple to customize. Requires a lot of work to do updates!

I am impressed with the Moodle. It may not have all the bells and whistles such as your paid for products, however, it is free software so don't expect too much. It gets the job done and is a wonderful step into the world of e-learning, especially if you are a company who is wanting to convert from hardcopy to online learning. Moodle will be a good indicator as to whether or not the conversion will be right for you.
Although this product may not have all the bells and whistles of a robust LMS, for a free, open-source product it is definitely a product/service I will recommend. Because it is free, you would expect the customer service and treatment to be sub-par however, I can honestly say that is not the case. I was assisted promptly with my issues and concerns and was delighted by the service I received as it was effective and efficient. My Pro goes to the service, not the product (Even though I do personally feel that this is a great platform for those who want to experience online learning but may not have the funds for an LMS)
Absolutely nothing I disliked about it. This is a free, open-source product, use it or don't use it but there is nothing to fault about it, only lots that can be improved on as time goes on.

Moodle was with no doubt the reference software for Learning Management Systems some years ago. However, it seems to have lost some pace and currently it only offers some benefits for class management other than learning, which as a teacher, I believe that is unfortunate (learning should be at first place).
* Great for grades' management, with rubrics, grading tables, complex calculations... * Plenty of different assessment activities * Can be expanded with different modules * Free/Libre OpenSource Software * Great community and user-base
* It seems to be that it has been somewhat outdated in terms of teaching paradigm: each "resource" is independent of the others (as opposed to knowledge, which is always interconnected to other knowledges and skills) * Navigation is somewhat clumsy. * Some modules are promising but, in fact, really limited (wikis, lessons) * Some limitations on grading (E.g. adding extra score) * Not Responsive friendly

With 1+ year's of experience, we found no hazzle using the tool and both students and the management are satisfied to provide education through this learning management system. All the tests and materials (including videos and other files are being shared) and the portal even works in low internet connectivity.
It's been over 4 years our organization is using the learning management system for education purpose. One of the best tool to distribute the study materials for the students and experienced no flaws from the tool so far. The students are happy and satisfied to provide education through the system which helps them to access the tool from anywhere and the configuration and logging in also an easy work. Almost all the files and videos are being distributed through the software.
The software application in the mobile or any potable device runs slow and the accessing of files and videos are bit tough compared to using in the computer. The mobile application could be improvised to sort out these issues as most of the students reply on their mobile.

The Moodle LMS was among the first to offer modular add-ons and incorporation of existing curricula. The modular design is the best feature, in my opinion, as it allows "tweaking" of capabilities.
Occasionally the linked pages create confusion and on rare occasions, the password resets fail to deliver e-mails.

Overall, my experience is mixed. In terms of course generation, organization, and overviews, I have had few problems. When it comes to managing quizzes and grading essays, I have found the system to be cumbersome and time consuming.
A lot of it is easy to use and set up. In terms of delivering course material and organizing a course, it is solid. I have no complaints. It is pretty easy to integrate video, articles, and discussion forums into your online course. It has been the way that I managed my online course during the pandemic.
I find the grading, particularly of essays and essay exams to be extremely time consuming and frustrating. It takes twice as long to type in quiz questions, to grade them, and to give feedback as when you do it in person. There has to be better ways to do it then on Moodle. I also find parts of the grade book hard to deal with and frustrating.

Compared to other Learning Management Software that I have used, this one is my favorite. I found it easy to learn on my own, build a course, and interact with students through Moodle. I found the email feature to be very useful when sending grades out to the students because I did not have to go back and forth from my personal email account to Moodle to look up contact information. It made assignment submissions easier too.
I used this software to teach a fully online course for a couple of years. Despite having no formal training, I found it easy to learn on my own (although I'm sure it had capabilities I never discovered). When I came to a problem I couldn't figure out through trial and error, the website usually provided the solution. I used the assignments, lesson, and quiz features the most, and found them to be straightforward, easy to set up, and versatile enough to fit my needs. The student interface is also simple to follow, and I appreciate the options to hide and reveal features automatically. I also like the metadata that Moodle collects on student usage, though I did not get to explore it or use it as much as I would have liked.
The most challenging part for me was to follow the various threads in the discussion forums, although I believe the students did not have the same problem (they were likely more tech savvy than me). While I found the grading to be easy, for the most part, I found the advanced grading options (such as rubrics) to be confusing.

Flexibility: Moodle allows educators to create and deliver a wide range of course content, including text, audio, video, images, and interactive activities.User-friendly interface: Moodle has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy for educators and students to navigate and use the system.Customizable: Moodle is highly customizable, which allows educators to tailor the system to their specific needs and requirements.
Moodle can be quite complex to set up and customize, especially for users who are not familiar with web development or programming (I was trying to set on Ubuntu locally once)

Ability to hold online courses with no additional cost or overhead.
Obviously the cost is great (free and open source). Getting started is a little complex (see below), but the process of creating a course and running that course is very easy and intuitive. I use this software as an instructor at a community college and I've also set it up at our church to do online courses and book studies.
Unless you are getting a hosted version of this, you must have system administrator skills in order to get this software up and running. So don't think it is quite like WordPress where you have a super-simple setup. You will need some skills. Also, you have to understand that there is complexity inherent in the fact that it is such a flexible and robust system. It is mainly designed for the higher ed space and has been customized a lot. So if you just need a super simple LMS, this may be overkill.

Overall as a teacher, I am quite satisfied with this product and because it is the best of its kind and i could not imagine doing my job, without Moodle.
The Moodle is a really good online educational platform that allows you to perform and manage online education. It is a platform where you can upload educational materials, take tests, have assignments whit deadlines which all all managed and checked by the software.
It has some limitations in terms of possibilities of making different types of tests and assignments. Also a big letdown is the visual side of the software and the missing support for mobile devices(for example, an app).

Except for the fact that it is free, the moodle interface is simple, user-centered and generally friendly. It may lag at times when I am using the mobile application but it hardly does if I am using a browser.

The security measures on the software are fragile. The platform also lacks poor customer support.

Mostly positive. I would like to see if they can offer premium preseted enviroment.
You can install it on shared hosting platform in less then 10 minutes. There are lots of plugins and forum tips/tricks so anyone with a little bit time can become serious user/admin.
It is to fragmented, because of "openes". Yes you can integrate Office 365 but integration is quite loose. Yes you can implement SSO but some security concerns are present. Mobile app is unfinished and optimization often requires in dept knowledge of html/css. Reporting sistem is not straight forward, gemification is only an option, not reality.
