It is challenging to feel the need to "micromanage" everyone to this degree...but that is not PMK's problem... Drop off works, and it helps us know that parents have had to communicate with us about their child's health that day. And Pick up goes smoothly, kids are not wandering the halls because they know that their ride is waiting for the, Admin are looking for them at the front of the campus, and their teacher will not release them until they know that is the case.
It keeps cars in the parking flowing fairly consistently, we can quickly see who is on campus, and who saw them and marked them Present. Teachers all over the campus can see when to dismiss a specific kid. Parents are notified when their child is released from school.
There are always a few parents who struggle with technology...and trying to help them...but life is challenging right now and we're trying to make as much of life work as possible... (((sigh))) One of my major dislikes with PMK is the fact that despite the fact that specific students are checked in the Live Dismissal Progress numbers are always inaccurate. Ours always says there are 387 kids needing...

PikMyKid has completely changed the pick up process at our school. We are able to function more effectively and efficiently.
PikMyKid is an easy to use product that facilitates the management of students on campus. It enables safety and security of students and streamlines the pick up process.
Despite ease of use, older adults are hesitant to use it.

I like that it helps for safety reasons - we know when kids are no longer on school property and are able to easily see who is still on campus.
Parents needed a formal training on how to use the software. With COVID and social distancing measures, we were unable to host formal training and suffered because of it. It was difficult getting parents on board and in the know of why/how to use the app. I also wish there was a button to see parent contact info from the dispatch mode, in case we need to call/contact parents.

PikMyKid has helped our small school with a large, spread-out campus keep track of our students at both arrival and dismissal while keeping them physically distanced due to COVID this year.
Easy to integrate a COVID health screening survey, easy for multiple people to see dismissal information and be "in the know" as the process happens in real-time, excellent and prompt customer support.
As a very small school, we don't have the staff to manage multiple dismissal methods each day. Switching between car/bus/walker lines is a little difficult because often one person is doing it all. The learning curve for parents was a little steep, mostly because the places to click on the app are not intuitive. The geofence feature doesn't really work. Some parents can check in from miles away when the feature is set to the length of a football field. We WISH it had a report that could show who is NOT checked in through the health survey instead of just who IS.

For us, Pikmykid provided the school the ability to track when parents arrive on campus to pick up their children and seamlessly alert the teacher. This help to expedite our dismissal process as well as increase its efficiency.
The ability to manage parent data is cumbersome. Many issues that arise that have to be resolved require going through Pikmykid customer service when I wish we could resolve them ourselves.

We have enjoyed using this system as our way of dismissing our students at our campus. It has allowed for us to keep the line moving efficiently and parents/dispatcher don’t have to interact (COVID). So everyone feels safe.
PikMyKid helps our school easily dismiss our students without error or miscommunication.
We rolled this program out slowly, grade level by grade level. It would be to overwhelming for parents/students/staff to do school wide initially.

I was amazed at how convenient this was to implement. Adding new student information was also convenient. Parents appreciated using the APP to assign different pickup options. The teachers are able to see on their screens who is on campus before sending the students out to the pickup lane to be picked up. Thank you for the Stop Sign! It works great! It is a good reminder to parents to check-in.
There are a few things that would be useful. The ability to change the pickup time for the early dismissals earlier than the day of. A calendar where all the dismissal times could be put in for the year and then changed back the following day would be wonderful. Another change would be the ability to add more families to the active line. Another recommendation I have is to make the print darker. It is difficult to read the student names etc. The print is very light.

It has been a great way to have an organized parent pick up.
I’ve been an educator for many years. This, by far, is the quickest and safest wag to get kids home.
There is a learning curve and definitely have some delays the first week or so of school.

Parents (and front office) love that you can set and/or make changes to pickup methods, persons responsible for pickup, and afterschool activities. We implemented for COVID but it is very helpful during inclement weather days.
It was a bit of a learning curve for parents, but that was mostly from our school offering so many pickup areas.

Our overall experience has been good with PikMyKid. It took a bit to get into the swing of it, but once we did it has helped a lot. The feature that allows the parents to change their child's mode of transportation has been a favorite for the front office staff. Being able to keep the students in the classroom until it's time for them to be dismissed has been a tremendous help for social distancing. One major improvement that we would like to see would be to easily identify a transportation change in the dismissal progress page. Some suggestions would be to highlight the student's name, or have an icon showing the change (example: car -> walker). Having the transportation changes EASILY identifiable on the dismissal progress page would be the biggest help that PikMyKid could offer.
We have only used this program for car riders, as the other transportation modes haven't been implemented. We love how fast it makes our car rider dismissal go. PikMyKid has helped a lot with phone management in the front office because the parents can make the transportation changes on their end. This system is also very helpful in social distancing since the teachers hold the students in their classroom until their parents are at the school to pick them up. Once we were able to get past the learning curve the system worked very well. However, the learning curve took a bit longer than expected though.
We have struggled with EASILY identifying transportation changes on the classroom/teacher side of this program. We eventually were told of a report that could be set up and sent to the teachers so they could see transportation changes. Before we were told about this, the one screen the teachers worked off of was not clear as to who had a transportation change for that particular day. We continue to struggle with getting accurate transportation change updates. The app and/or website doesn't always work during dismissal time.

PikMyKid makes student pick up in the afternoon run so smoothly.
I wish there was a way for parents to check in without having to have a school representative outside putting cars in line. For a smaller school, it is hard to have one staff member dedicated to this duty during hybrid learning.

Time efficiency is one of the most. Parents can make changes if they need to which is amazing, no last minute changes especially right at the end of the day.
From how I use it in the office and from how I see it being used is, this system is very efficient and easy to use once you know how.
There hasn't much talk about what needs to change or what we would like changed at this point. Our school and district are working through Distant Learning. We have been this way since the end of November and only have had k-3 in school on a hybrid mode.
