We love the ease of use for parents as well as for managment of childcare fees.

Cons

We need to be able to track real classroom attendance (not just sign-in) as well as filter reports by agency spcecific fields (such as funding source).

Love electronic sign IN/OUT, attendance and meal tracking, and the ease of communication with one or all parents.

Cons

Excel reports do not have totals, and often have excessive amounts of data making them impossible to print all columns on one page without changing column widths and manually deleting columns.

I have been using this program since March and it has been a great asset to my workplace

It has been very helpful for the parents and is user friendly for the teachers that have to add timeline entries.

Pros

We can update billing and accounts at both centers and the parents really have enjoyed the app getting updates on their children throughout the day.

Cons

When running reports it could be easier if you could run the reports by room rather than the whole center for attendance, birthdays, allergies, etc...

Another amazing feature is the ability to print reports for attendance, billing, and other items.

I can also appreciate that there is always someone in customer service with anything that needs to be addressed.

No One Likes Change - But This is a Change That I'm Looking Forward To

Prior to our SmartCare switch, we were using four different software programs to manage what SmartCare does all in one - child and family records management, payment collection, secure door entry, pin check in, daily report access to families electronically, lesson plan building, federal food program, child assessments, and video/picture sending to families.

However, anything that I would like to access, I can submit a help ticket and they will work to add the feature in the newest update.

The future is there...

But I must say this is really paradigm changing for large(r) Day Care centers, "IF" they can manage the synchronization of the Cloud, software, UI and hardware!

Pros

The process of moving the administrative functions and paperwork to Tablets and teachers in the classroom is working great!

Cons

Very clunky interfaces (like you have to learn an unusual method to work the UI). The biggest problem is with using the Scheduling module on the IPad and the data not syncing up with the data that is reported in Reports!

Bumpy at first, and there's a slight language barrier for non native English speakers. Fairly easy.

Pros

The software is more updated verses using a paper report slip alone, it allows parents to see real-time updates (however see next cons box) shows how long child was at daycare.

Cons

While parents receive updates in real time they almost become more picky about not receiving a notification right at the exact hour their child was supposed to do an activity.

From registration of children to their daily activities on their timelines, it is easy for me to track exactly what is going on with each child.

Cons

The constant bugs and amount of time it takes to fix them. Even though there seems to be daily updates to the program, there are still software irregularities.

Great program, need to be more user friendly on business end.

We have two separate buildings and they were hard to get all in information together they had to be run separate. Now with this program we have the exact same as everything and we can be in either building and access everything we need.

Pros

Parents are able to feel more involved in their child's day by seeing their activities as they happen rather then the end of the day.

Cons

The reports are not the best to run.

I use it as a parent and administrator. Love the parent features hate the administrative side.

Keeps track of the children in child care.

Pros

I like receiving pictures of my little one and knowing in real time what is happening at her school. As an administrator I like that we have two centers and I can accesss the information from anywhere! This means I can check it on my phone if I get a call about an employee or child and not have to run to the center every few minutes.

Cons

Reports are awful! They lack in the ability to edit them as needed or customize anything.

Payments, attendance, automatic features, and being able to be a director from my phone rather than on site.

Pros

I like that it is constantly growing and adapting to the future. The app and payment platform are amazing for the parents and for ease of use.

Cons

Being so new, there are a few lessons to be learned. Smartcare will become the best software for child care centers around the nation, they just need to keep getting better!

I like to direct payment feature and that now I don'e have to go to the bank as often.

Pros

I like to feature to separate payments for families that are separated.

Cons

Does not have a lot of the features that Child Care Manager had like Daily/monthly attendance, list all the immunizations under each child's name.
