We are efficient in new client onboarding and subscription processes because of Chargebee. We were manually raising invoices before but with Chargebee the process is simplified and very effective.
We have a SMB and Enterprise Sales team and use Chargebee for accounting and subscription purposes to great effect. Invoicing a new client is very easy and UI is super fluid. We have raised a couple of tickets when we encountered bugs but their Customer Success team got in touch with us and solved it within a day.
There were bugs (duplicate invoice created, client email not registering etc) these happen more frequently than we'd like. It's not that much of a problem because they get resolved super quick

It is fantastic software for automating accounting processes, reducing manual work, and eradicating possible paperwork. All accounting information is stored in the software, and it is easy for the accounting team to access this information, generate reports, perform in-depth analysis, adjust payments, and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, among others. It is the best accounting software we have found; our experience has been excellent.
I love Chargebee for many reasons, the most important being that it allows us to streamline all the organization's transaction recording, which always involves a lot of money; at the same time, it helped us improve our previous shortcomings in generating reports. It has features and functionalities that save us time and make our daily accounting work more accessible, allowing us, among many other things, to import the account statement, perform in-depth analysis, and have control of all expenses; in short, it simplifies the entire accounting process, from purchases to the general ledger and accounts receivable and payable. Best of all, it is not difficult to use, and adapting to the software does not require much training.
There is a learning curve at first, primarily if you have yet to use accounting software; however, we have overcome that curve quickly and get great use out of the software daily.

Our experience with Chargebee has been nothing short of a nightmare. The first implementation consultant we were assigned was utterly incompetent, providing no solutions and merely directing us to irrelevant API documentation. They showed no interest in understanding our use case or reviewing our documents and user flows. During our weekly calls, I was left to fend for myself, presenting configurations...
It is quite intuitive and easy to use.
The team at Chargebee has proven to be nothing short of a disaster. They treat you with utter disregard, blatantly lying to you and leaving your emails unanswered for weeks on end. When you finally manage to get a response, they lure you into a call under the pretense of prioritizing your concerns, only to leave you in the lurch once again. This vicious cycle of neglect continues unabated, while you are left to deal with the fallout of their incompetence, losing customers in the process. Their behavior is not just unprofessional, it’s downright disgraceful.

All in all, it wasn't a terrible experience, but the issues that we experienced (with some not completely on ChargeBee, but shared with Microsoft) didn't allow my experience to be great either. But what I can say is that once they iron out those integration issues with Partner Center, I don't foresee having any negative experiences going forward.
The best way I can summarize what I liked about ChargeBee comes down to with the amount of available features, still having a minimalistic aesthetic to it. Not a lot of unnecessary clutter that isn't useful, just all the stuff you need, and none of the stuff you don't.
Everything related to invoicing. Now, I will note that our issues could have just been tied to issues related to limitations with Microsoft Partner Center subscription portal integration and ChargeBee. That being said, we had constant issues with the way invoices detailed how our customers were being charged and what was being credited, leading to long conversations with my customers explaining what they were reading.

It has been useful to set up our automated subscription plans. Creating different plans, promos, and payment methods were quite easy.
Chargebee makes it very easy to set up automatic billing, subscription creation, and setting up promos for our customers. The interface is fairly straightforward to navigate and they connect with much of our tech stack, which helps streamline workflows.
Not much to not like. There are a lot of settings, such as reminders and notifications that you need to make sure you set up if you want to stay on top of your billing. Once they are set up, they are very helpful!

As a business owner, I know how hard it is to manage the bill. Chargebee makes the process seamless and easy. It's great for recurring subscriptions and provides the best customer service experience. Chargebee is the best billing and recurring tool I've ever used. The interface is clean and easy to use, plus it has a lot of features that make it worth the price. I love that they have integrations with so many other platforms, like Slack or Zapier. It's really helped us save time on our billing process in particular.
I don't have any complaints at this time.

Chargebee is a very effective platform for recurring billings. It allows you to create plans, addons, coupons, and invoice reliably time and again.
Complex billing situations, such as sending a customer a single invoice for several subscriptions, are a bit more complex and require a lot of meddling with the system.

Saving lots of time in Invoicing to the customer.
The application is Subscription enabled. So if the monthly billing amount is same then the subscription will create Invoices every month automatically without manual involvement.
Sometimes due to system error invoices get created and get paid, which is not in order. I cannot bill single customer from to supplier.

I have been using Chargebee for over a year now and I am completely in love with it. It's the best SaaS subscription billing platform out there and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to start a subscription based business. The customer service is also fantastic, they are always available to help and their responses are quick.
Some of configuration is complex to understand. But thier customer support is quick to help us.

We are still using it, but more because the time and cost to change is very high than for other reasons - and I am not sure that forever is going to be the case. I wouldn't recommend using this product if you need anything beyond the basic subscription management capabilities. Support wasn't good either. In 6 months we had 3 account managers change and I am not even sure how to reach our account manager now. When coupled with the pricing they charge, I wouldn't recommend utilizing this product beyond its basic subscription management.
I love that it has multiple options and features. And the core subscription management works really well. It is great for companies that start from scratch and need quick 0-80 solution.
The issues start when you go deeper. Revenue story has lots of data reliability issues, slow refresh rates, information that changes in hindsight. The more you leverage the advanced capabilities the more disappointed you are. We had dashboards disappear, web hooks not triggering without any apparent reason and much more. We need to spend hours validating the data and double check three times before we can decide to rely on the output.

Overall a very capable subscription management tool with great integrations and great support them!
Excellent platform to manage your Saas Business. Great, very easy to use integrations with many vendors (Stripe, QuickBooks, Zapier, etc). Highly customizable settings for everything: email templates, the general look, and even the workflow & the custom fields.
Takes some time to get used to how to work together with your app and integrate everything to work flawlessly, but it worth it. I just wished that when the client has to select the quantity of their licenses, you could edit the label from Quantity to "users" or "licenses".

A fantastic tool which makes it really easy to handle all your subscriptions in one place. Integrate it with the API and you can quickly start charging your customers on any period that you want. With smart and simple integrations to payment gateways you will see money on your account directly and you don't need to handle the credit card information. New product and coupons is simply added and managed in the interface. Looking forward to explore the tool even more.

Every interaction with them has been great. They are always friendly and helpful, responding in the appropriate amount of time based on the request.
It is really helpful to have a place to start with all the templates and architecture. I was able to configure everything myself with no need for a developer.
Although it is a good thing that you can't just go in and delete things, the "archive" function still shows the custom fields to choose from in the email templates. Later in time, someone else may not know not to use it.

I first heard of Chargebee after doing some trial integration of both Chargify and Spreedly with our new SaaS app rocketmailmerge.com. A quick look over their API documentation and we were off to work integrating their system with our billing and customer management. Chargebee's API was very easy to integrate, it took only 1 day to get up and running on their sandbox due to their great example code....

Robust platform from which you can build a large customer base with different types of subscriptions. High level of customization. The information is well structured. It does integrate well with Stripe.
The UI could be sexier and the learning curve is steep. Sometimes, it is not intuitive and rely a lot on our IT team to support us internally.

The ability to measure and track ARR for a Saas product is critical to our success. The fact that it integrates with Salesforce means that we can be confident we have an accurate view of our customer's accounts.
Chargebee has plenty of features that will ensures the platform can accommodate our product as it grows.
Lot's of features adds complexity therefore the learning curve is steep. Once you have it set up though, it's a very powerful platform. Trial subscription functionality could be expanded a bit. It would be could to be able to customise a user's trial journey a bit more.

I stumble across ChargeBee after searching on the web for subscription API management for our new signal service. From the very start , I found the ChargeBee API very easy to use , the web site easy to navigate and the response from our specific help requests first rate. Our signal service went live a couple of months ago with zero problems from the subscription side which worked with no problems. I can 100% recommend ChargeBee to anyone who reads this and to anyone who emails me personally

Great experience! Quick customer service replies if we ran into any hurdles.
The set up was easy and tailoring the customer front end was really quick. We had connected our Stripe account and were up and running in less than one hour. The reporting seems really in depth and excited to be able to run reports in many different ways.
I wish there was a "lite" or startup pricing tier. As a small business the cost is a bit prohibitive on top of the processing fees.

We were looking at a few options for recurring billing and happy that we chose Chargebee. It does the work for us and we are focusing on more important tasks.
Great tool for automated recurring billing. My team was up to speed fast and didn't face any issues. Intuitive.
Not enough filters option to sort the base of users. Matters especially if you want to export lists.

It hasn't been the most pleasant experience. Our company decided to move to Chargebee at the recommendation of an employee who didn't quite understand the financial side of the business. We are constantly editing subscriptions and it's quite burdensome. If you run a filter on a particular screen and click on a link, it erases the filter. While this software seems to be more efficient from a reporting perspective, it's much more burdensome for the employees doing the actual work. We've been using it for approximately four months and are constantly finding problems with it. We trained ourselves on how to use it before going live to ensure that it performed as expected. We're still not pleased with its performance.
I like the idea of automated dunning emails and automatic follow-ups for customers. But so far, they haven't worked correctly.
Editing a subscription is a lot more complicated than other software. I don't like that you cannot easily view a screen that shows paid and unpaid invoices. I don't like that invoices get paid and there are no notifications. I don't like that you cannot enter payment information for a customer. We have fought with customers who previously were on auto-pay to get their information entered into...

Good. We used to do manual invoices separate from credit card invoices. Having a single billing systems improves efficiency and we have a single source of the truth with respect ti critical business KPI's.
I like that we can also do quotes from the system that customers can accept and it takes them to the checkout. Huge time-save for our sales team.
It's hard to do price indexation to subscriptions. It generates credits and credit notes that our customers initially don't understand without us explaining it.

If I could do things over again I would have selected a similar provider even if I was forced to pay several hundred dollars per month it would have obviously been worth it. Now I have to make the decision of whether I want to potentially lose over half my subscribers again like the last time I switched billing systems (to Chargebee) or accept that I'm locked in for life.
Easy to set up and has a good API. Support is good and fast response so long as the issues are simple and don't involve anything technical.
The backend system is grossly unoptimized to the point many of my customers cannot be billed anymore. I was not informed of these issues when signing up and was promised that the system would be able to handle my very specific usecase. It clearly can't despite me giving them actual numbers. I've already lost over $6000 in charges I can't add to my customers' invoices and a few thousand dollars in...

Its been great to use Chargebee and we have absolutely no regrets about out decision.
The system is fast and provides a great development experience.
The changes to the platform's product catalog means that switching to the newest version is a lot of work. As the older version is still supported, this is not a big deal however helping with the migration would be very welcome.

Chargebee started as a good product challenging Recurly but now it's really one of the worst decision we ever took
Their representative explicitly lied to to us to get us on a higher pricing in order to get his bonus and then you are stuck with another representation trying to get you to pay even to get his bonus aswell for the same feature that were promised earlier by someone else. Their management really needs to train their staff better & decide on a pricing policy that aligns interest (fixed or variable -- you can have it both ways! ) First chance we get, we get away from this scamming company!
