Discovering Clio has been a pleasant journey

2018-02-21

This software has freed up hours of my time per week which allows me to spend more time with family, friends, or making new business connections.

Pros

Clio is a robust software that excels at overall matter management for the attorney and it provides the ability for the client to have instant access to specific documents, calendars, and a form of secure communications.

Cons

Clio needs to update client billing. Currently clients are unable to pay past due balances from a current invoice.

Clio Review

2017-06-17

Contact, Matter and Document creation, and organization in a mobile friendly and intuitive software that promotes growth with increased capacity created with efficiency and greater communication with clients because information is readily available and easy to share.

Pros

Having all of our contacts, matters and important case documents and information in the palm of your hand promotes organization and communication because the information is stored in Clio and easy to access and share.

Cons

The accounting system is still developing. Invoicing clients is amazing, and so are the Clio payments feature and accounts receivable reports.

We love how Clio has streamlined our management of client data and improved our time keeping process

2017-06-09

Increased billing through managed time keeping using the dashboard firm metrics, and an easier-to-customize invoice layout.

Pros

The dashboard tracking of the firm metrics, which helps us to monitor our billing progress on a daily basis.

Cons

The bills menu and sub menus as they relate to past due bill management, and the inability to separate out current bills from past due bills in an easy manner.

Very solid all-in-one product for law firm management.

2018-01-12

Cost-effective practice management / integrated payment capabilities.

Pros

It is nice to be able to handle billing, basic accounting, document management tasks in one place.

Cons

And I absolutely, 100% dislike the fact that the payments function prompts only for the "new" charges on any invoice rather than the full balance due.

11.5 months in and no concerns going forward

2016-09-20

With 5 users, Clio amply allows us to track dates, effectively task work, capture time, and bill clients.

Pros

The intersection of tracking retainers, issuing invoices, and getting paid is also very good.

Cons

Some of the reports could be better.

The easy on the eyes interface is valuable -- if I had to spend as much time with the Rocket Matter interface as I do with Clio it would affect the quality of work enjoyment.

I was among the first Clio users, and I still love it!

2018-05-22

Timekeeping, invoicing, tracking of client expenses, documents and scheduling.

Pros

Since its all cloud-based, I can access my timekeeping and invoice files anywhere I have internet.

Cons

Time has to be "billable" to appear in reports, so administrative time has to be made "billable" and then cleared out periodically by "billing" it, to generate year-end reports.

High quality, fast, feature-rich practice management software for lawyers

2018-05-16

Pros

The software has everything a growing law firm needs, from easy-to-use time keeping and management, to great looking invoices, to integration with trust and operating accounts, document management and more.

Cons

Sometimes, I think the CEO or CTO, or whomever makes the priority decisions is more a UI expert than an attorney.

So much better than my old software!!

2016-10-04

The third party integrations are outstanding, I love how it works with so many other products that I use.

Pros

Easy to use Fast performance Clear user interface Available anywhere Lots of integrations with other products Great customer training and support Easy, fast invoicing

Cons

The dashboard needs some work, it's not possible to customize how many days of the year you will work (so you can meet the goals you set) and it's currently not possible to track by revenue in the door, only by billed hours.

Clio is the industry standard for a reason -- it works.

2017-09-02

Pros

Clio's timekeeping system is easier than what I was using at BigLaw. 2. Easy bill generation and editing.

Cons

I'm aware of third-party integration apps, but I'm not a big fan of having the user create (and, far more often than not, fix) the integration. 2.

Good capability for solo and very small, growing to fit slightly larger firms

2017-05-24

Flexibility in work location, good cloud storage capability in a way that organizes / sorts nicely with matters and clients. Billing is relatively easy.

Pros

Cloud accessibility, excellent time tracking functionality and let's me track several different ways and in many different places.

Cons

Would really like a native Office 365 email integration that doesn't involve third party software that is of questionable reliability / usefulness - something akin to the gmail integration would be awesome.

Fantastic value, modern software, steadily improving features

2017-04-14

I love that Clio lets me use third-party software with it rather than forcing users to rely on less convenient built-in solutions.

Pros

Why You Need Clio To Maximize the Value of Your Law Firm

2016-12-11

From customizable document templates, to unlimited cloud-based document storage¿Clio is a one-stop shop that covers all bases.

Pros

The reasonable price, the customizable templates, the ease of use, and the simplified yet robust invoicing and billing functionality.

Cons

While there are not many downfalls with Clio, we would recommend utilizing an additional system for calendaring and contact resource management. As our firm is a true relationship focused and cross-referral based practice, we have found that keeping track of relationships amongst all contacts is paramount.
