Not a fan, but it is a necessary evil. The implementation has been on-going for over a decade, and will likely never end. Worse than an ERP implementation. Requires a significant amount of training and re-training for every employee as it is not the most intuitive platform out there.
It's been a great tool to combine and manage our employee expenses and travel/entertainment expenditures. It incorporates our credit card transactions and works well sharing information with our travel partners to give us an all-in-one place for the employee to manage their spending.
Feels like at least once a week the tool is down with some random outage. Took years to get it tied to our SSO, and even now that it is, it only works with a specific URL, the URL in any email notifications takes you to a non-SSO page and your log-in fails. Also, it is no-frills, and looks very boring.

Concur has definitely streamlined my expenses, but could be slightly more intuitive/user friendly.
I think concur is extremely convenient, and am glad my company offers this option for expenses. It doesn't take me long to complete expense reports, and it helps me stay organized and make sure I am actually getting reimbursed for all of my business costs. I like that you can start a report and then come back to it later (ex. if I forgot a receipt at home, I can still enter all the other details, and then attach the picture later).
Some of the pre-determined fields are frustrating, though I understand not allowing random values to be entered. Example. sometimes the city I'm submitting an expense for won't show up, and then I'll need to search around for a city that's close and also an available option within concur. This also may be due to a lack of concur training from my own company, but I don't really understand the difference between an expense "report" and a "request"- I'm not sure if these really matter at the end of the day, so would prefer options be streamlined and perhaps explained (like an FAQ, or ? you can hover over to answer common questions).

I like that travelers can attach receipts to individual charges. Travelers and approvers can sort expenses by date, dollar amount, expense type, etc. Organizations can customize Concur to add their own requirements and security warnings. I like that if you choose to print an expense report and click the PDF button, it generates a complete packet with all the receipts and backup documentation.
Our organization has the Request and Expense modules, and the two don't talk to each other very well. Travelers are frustrated that they have to enter the same information and upload the same documents over again when they submit their expense reports. The expense itemization for lodging is tedious. As an approver, Concur limits my ability to make corrections. I have to send the expense report back to the traveler with detailed instructions of which fields to change, or I need to send them the step-by-step instructions to add me as a delegate so I can make the corrections on their behalf. I wish approvers automatically had delegate authority so we could make the necessary changes, then route the revised expense report to the traveler to review.

The product is simple to use and deploy. As a user and approver for my team, I can easily keep track of everyone's expenses as well as do my own. It's so much easier than using a spreadsheet and attaching paper receipts.
I've used Concur for years and it's really great at expense management. I typically travel 4-5 times per month and to different countries. The ability to easily manage multi-currency makes this software ideal.
Not much I don't like about the software. Very rarely it is not available due to updates, but that doesn't happen more than 1x per year and it impacts me.

I have been frustrated by the level of customer support we've received. Responses are slow and usually not thorough. It also seems that Support Techs are not given the necessary resources and accessibility to actually solve problems, so that I have to jump through a number of hoops and provide information that I feel they should be able to obtain in order to get my problems solved. The software is easy to use and I find it to be easily navigable. However, training resources are poor and confusing though they are widely available. I understand the profit motive, but it feels like each webinar is aimed at selling you something new and not actually providing training. It's also frustrating that, because I inherited this software from a former staff member, I cannot get training on it unless we pay an exorbitant amount of money. Some basic, ongoing one-on-one training should really be included in all support packages. This is the only software I've ever worked with where that was not the case. There are also a number of built-in features that cannot be turned off that cause us to make exceptions to our internal policies. We should be able to disable all features if we deem it necessary. It's a fine piece of software. As mentioned above, it's easily navigable and the basic set-up and administration is simple to figure out. Taking advantage of all features and exploring more intricate administration features is made extremely difficult, though, and training to be able to do so is not accessible. I would certainly not rave about it to colleagues, but I would feel comfortable telling someone it's fine if you recognize that all softwares have their failings.

8.5 out of 10 from my perspective. I have been self employed, and employed by others without SAP Concur. Having the ability to use SAP is much better
In sales, I am extremely busy, have much to remember, and much to stay on-top of. Managing expenses is not a priority but has to be done. So glad I can upload receipts at time of order to keep my focus on what is important to me... SALES! And direct deposited money, cant go wrong.
Wish the app would tell you when there is an issue before submitting to my company. Then I have to ask my management to deny so I can fix and resubmit. Meals with others is a little clumsy on what info the app needs first to save, then upload receipt.

Trying to create order from chaos with your expense management process? Concur MAY be your solution. If you are looking to get a hold of your expense management process and have a very well structured idea of how to do it (i.e. you have a well-defined chart of accounts, have policies in place for expense reimbursement, and have an approval process) then Concur is your solution. However, it's a bit lacking for the company trying to create structure in this area, as it doesn't have sufficient documentation on the setup, what decisions need to be made, and the impact of those decisions. It took nearly a year to get all of that adequately set up, and ultimately we have a stronger platform for it, but the guidance to get there was very self-directed.
Syncs with corporate cards and allows for the team to easily manage their expenses.
Integration could be stronger, both to QuickBooks and the "Travel" component of their product, which is run through TripIt

I would certainly recommend to any company. Regardless if they use expense, the travel tool is very helpful to help save on travel expense. From air to hotels and car rentals in between.
Makes travelers abode buy rules. If a traveler is out of policy they need to have reason. Depending on companies rules travel will be approved on not. It really depends on what companies wants to enforce.
From years of using, like anything, a traveler can manipulate it. If they lower the window of hours it will make they within policy, even though they aren’t.

Employee satisfaction, Less work for accounts payables team.
The Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) expense tracking and management tool delivers a comprehensive set of features, which is easy to use and saves time for both employees and accounts payables team. Concur has many user friendly features like the ability to email receipts and the receipts will be automatically available for the employee to submit. Concurs Optical character reading ability is decent. Concur can be integrated with employees hotel rewards, airline rewards, uber accounts, so that all the spend will flow automatically into concur. These features save time and energy. I have known situations where travelling employees travel all the week and instead of spending the weekend time with family, need to spend hours keying in their expenses in outdated tools. With tools like concur it takes less time when compared to traditional tools.
There is lots of scope for improvement. The tool can be made more user friendly. The reporting aspect can be improved. To do somethings, it requires too many mouse clicks.

It was hard to get to customer services sometimes
When using concur I used it for travel bookings - I found it extremely easy to set up profiles of staff I would be booking for. It was very easy to search and book flights
While using concur to book hotels I found it a little more difficult as it would not necessarily be able to fine the intended hotel using a few choice words i had to put the name and hotel address in the search bar for it to be found but other than that it was great to use.

I really like the ease of tracking and maintaining company expenses in one convenient location. As a company with a large number of employees, this system allows the expenses to be tracked as well as reimbursement to employees for expenses they pay for upfront. The ease of direct deposit to reimburse employees is a great feature of Concur. They also offer an app which I haven't tried yet but have heard all good things about it. The ease of training employees is also a nice benefit as it is a pretty user friendly system.

I dislike that receipt management at the accounting review level is very limited but other than that, SAP Concur is a very user friendly system that makes it easy to train new employees to use the system.

As a user I have had a great experience with the software. The ease of tracking my company expenses in one app where I can upload/take pictures of the receipts/invoices and add details such as comments on the use and/or reason of the expense makes this software the best and most practical accounting tool for both employees, managers/supervisors, and financial/accounting officers of a company.
The best parts about this software is the ease of use whether on a mobile phone, tablet, or pc. Any way that you use the software makes tracking, adding, uploading expenses and receipts as user friendly as possible. Add that to the ability to track personal expenses that need to be reimbursed to employee and the ability for a manager/supervisor to approve/deny with the click of a button makes it even more attractive.
The only feature that needs a little work is the receipt upload. If you take a picture of the receipt before the expense is automatically imported by the software then it sometimes makes a double entry that is a little difficult to remove. Other than that all other features work efficiently and intuitively.

Total peace of mind when it comes to reimbursement of charges on my company travel card and purchasing card.
I would say my company made a good choice with SAP Concur for expense reporting. 1) Since it is so well integrated with the company policy, I am only given options for airlines, rental cars and hotel that the company approves. All I need to do to book is simply click. 2) All receipts can be easily be tracked. The phone app is so convenient that I just take a picture of the receipt, for say a meal, and it stores it for me to attach to a line item on my expense report later. 3) It is also integrated with the bank that issues the corporate card or the company travel card that expenses on my bank statement are automatically identified and transferred to my Concur account for me to view and append to my expense report. 4) The report filling itself is very simple and easy to understand and doesn't take too much time.
The only thing I can say that could improve is some menu options may not be exhaustive or may have multiple correct options. For example, one discrepancy I had in the past was, it was not clear to me under which category my expense fell under. However, this was such a minor issue that all I had to do was just switch it to the right category after advice from the accounting department. The expenditure in this case was related to conference related registration fee.

After implementing in 2014, I've had great experiences with Concur. The data entry, expense management, reporting, and user-feel has been fantastic.
The tool is so functional and simple to use. As an administrator of our expense solution I generally will tell our end users that if you think it can do something, it probably can! While the trick is figuring out the 'how', I tend to feel as though it is one of the most user-friendly systems available. Especially in the EMS world!
I honestly don't have much to knock about Concur Expense. Granted the 3rd party audit service is a bit of a burden at times, it seems that they have significant and regular turnover, that counts as an add-on in my opinion and shouldn't be held against the tool in general.

I had been working in an organization for a long time when we didnt had Concur implemented. All expenses were all over the place, accounting had no idea what was coming in and who was requesting what reimbursements and for what expenses. Ever since we implemented this software, its a breeze for us in accounting as well as other employees to get their reimbursements on time.
Very stable software from SAP works in the cloud so no local storage. Can be accessed from Any where which means you can upload your expenses with receipts from your home in no time Can be access from a phone app as wells as on web Being able to book and organize your flights to hotels to car rentals is the major advantage plus any corporate discounts we are privileged to have. No need to be calling travel agents. Great reminders for your trips so you are always on top of your schedule Easy payment request submissions Every expense is nicely organized easy and clean user interface which is a plus
Little pricey for a small enterprise but its worth it. Employees need to be trained.

Having never used a full ERP system before, the parts I used worked very well and I was impressed with the solution. I used this with a large international company, but not sure how well it would suit smaller companies due to cost of implementation

Accounting side looks complex and scary, but is expectedMove input responsibility to all stakeholders, middle and senior management, which is good and bad. The people with info is putting information in, but extra time is taking up for high earning, but reduces need for junior admin

The ExpenseIt app combined with the Concur app allow employess to take photos of their receipts (the QR scanner is over 80% accurate!), have their expense info auto-populated and easily transferred to an expense report all from your phone! This has been a gamechanger for our employees who work in the field/outside of the office. The software is also very accurate and within the first three months paid for itself by identifying expenses that were submitted multiple times for the same thing in different months.
Initial setup can be quite tricky and more time-consuming than the initial sales-pitch stated. We really don't like the billing structure, especially the fact that we get charged anytime an employee hits the submit button, even if we've instructed them not to. Also, the salespeople constantly pitch "free months" of service to try some of the additional products, but the "free" month always ends up being the implementation month, so you don't even have a chance to try the service during that time.

7/10. I've not much experience with other platforms, so can't say I would trade it for another. But there is some work to be done with the usability of the desktop version.
The days of filling everything out hard copy, attaching hard copy receipts, submitting it by hand to accounting and then always wondering if you filled out everything correctly (to hopefully not bog down the turn time) while waiting for your reimbursement are now gone with the implementation of Concur in our workflow. The user will receive pings if the expense report is not filled out correctly and once submitted, there is no need to follow up as Concur will auto email you once each step of the process is approved and advanced.
The user friendliness of the desktop version still requires patience and learning curve (e.g. it is not obvious that you must attach a receipt image for each LINE ITEM of the expense report — I had to resubmit several forms early on because I was attaching all receipt to the report itself). I've heard that the mobile version is actually easier to use and can be used in real time during your work trip.

My overall experience with Concur is a positive one. It is simple, easy to use and likely won’t require any training if you have experience with other similar software.
What I like most about Concur is that it is intuitive. If you’ve used an expense processing software before, you will be able to use Concur without any training or confusion. I’ve used Concur at two consecutive companies now. I’ve never been trained in it and I was able to use it without any issues from the first login. I’ve also trained other executive assistants in the software at both companies.
I don’t have anything I like least about the software. It’s is quite similar to other expense processing software.
