Pros

I love the ability to review and approved remotely. I appreciate the emailing of receipts and then being able to easily select them for each expense.
It is one of the easy to use software and super user friendly. I would recommend this software to anyone trying to have time and money on Travel and expense management.
I like the ease of filling out each section without assistance. The best part is changing currency rates without having to do the math yourself.

Pros

It's a nice incentive to encourage cost savings for the company and really nice for employees if you aren't too particular about your lodgings.
The ease of use and functionality is great and it makes it easy to track where your reports are at and when it has been approved.
I really enjoy expensify and everything it encapsulates. It's easy, and quite frankly, effective and I recommend to everyone.

Cons

My app often freezes out and says "analyzing" for days. I worry my receipt image will be lost.
When you do have to enter information, it is PAINFUL. The interface looks old and messy, and adding images and receipts is a unnecessarily difficult process due to bad thumbnails and image viewing.
I find it a bit confusing to use. Maybe it's because the way it is configured in my company, but it is too much information in one visual that you might get lost when selecting the proper option.

Cons

Our company have multiple entities in the US and in EU and expensify does not support this, the integration with xero is a mess i don't understand how does it work...My overall experience is bad.
Criminal billing practices. I barely used the software and they are charging me for a year subscription and won't let me cancel.
They violate their own privacy policy by sending out non-product related information to their customer base. This violates the agreement that they make you sign.

Pros

I like that it's cloud-based and includes Expensify.

Cons

1) Extremely poor customer service. It's not their fault, but the customer service teams are outsourced and unqualified to do much more than read from a script. 2) The software lacks an intuitive interface. Requires a lot of manual effort, from receipt matching (which is supposed to be automatic but fails more often than not to match to the proper transaction), to viewing the receipt in a little tiny window. The transaction type, which the system should learn, fails to port properly about 50% of the time, which means I have to manually change it. All in all, requires A LOT of manual effort for a system that was promised to increase efficiency and make our lives easier.

Cheap and featureful but man, it's a real pain to use

Pros

SAP Concur is a bit cheaper than other options on the market, e.g. Expensify. It's got everything that both administrators, finance people, and regular employees need.

Cons

But man, is it PAINFUL to use. The UI is so bad: it doesn't allow you to open links in new tabs. Each click refreshes the ENTIRE page and takes several seconds. It's very ugly. It's unintuitive to use. If I was making the purchase decision, I'd just go with a more expensive product and save everyone ~1 hour per week.

I used concur in my past role and I loved that you could easily submit expenses and book travel all in one place

Cons

I never had any issues with concur my company now uses expensify which I enjoy but it does not give complete access to book travel along with expenses

It has a relatively user-friendly mobile interface. The software works well most of the time and does the job of recording and organizing expenses.

Cons

Not nearly as intuitive, clean, or efficient as Expensify. Having more features, like the ability to scan receipts or auto-populate fields based on previous entries would help immensely.

My experience was good. I found the app easy to understand, easy to attach receipts, and I like the notifications.

Pros

It was easy to load up receipts and enter all the information for purchases. I liked the notifications. It was convenient.

Cons

There really wasn't anything that I didn't like, but I wasn't all that involved with it. The company I work for used it for a time, then they switched to Expensify.

Concur helps us track and monitor expenses.

Pros

Concur is really flexible and has a lot of features! You can enter multi stop trips for mileage, pick from numerous categories, create reports, etc.

Cons

In previous positions, I used Expensify which has a nice and colorful UI. Concur does not have the same level of appeal in terms of the look and feel, but it is still useable.

It was OK but I think Expensify is a much more convenient and easy to use tool. Concur gets the job done but isn't nearly as easy for getting expenses done as others I've used.

Pros

Honestly not much. It gets the job done but it's clunky and not that user friendly.

Cons

There were a lot of steps to get done what I needed on the expense. I would prefer it to be simplified and easier to replicate instead of having to go through identical tedious steps over and over again.

Concur seems to have it all for larger orgs looking to wrap travel and expense compliance into one package.

Pros

Concur has everything for me to book corporate travel, build expense reports and more. It's kind of like Expedia and Expensify wrapped into one. It also makes it really easy to see if the travel I'm booking meets our company travel guidelines.

Cons

It has everything in one, so it is a little complex, and uses lots of small text and little links to navigate, which is quite different from the more modern apps I'm used to using.

This tool gets the job done when filing expenses, but falls short when it comes to the user experience.

Pros

Once you're familiar with the Concur product, it's relatively easy to use and has all of the necessary capabilities to file expenses quickly. It's reliable, and I rarely have issues using the product.

Cons

When starting to use this tool, it was not very intuitive and took some training to understand how to file expenses correctly, create reports, etc. Compared to other tools used in the past (such as Expensify), this tool is not as user-friendly, design-focused, or intuitive. Overall, it feels clunky and outdated.

Pros

Expensify was easy to use and intuitive to understand. That was the main selling point versus Concur in my mind.

Cons

Ultimately we went with Concur because our accounting team was already using SAP products and the integration of having all the tools on one platform was ideal for us.

Pros

Expensify was quick to pick up and leverage for expense services. It's a great tool to use when you are tight on your budget and need a quick and not so expensive service to use for expenses.

Cons

I found other software like SAP Concur (higher tier / more expensive) or Divvy (comparable in price and service) better expense tracking software. Divvy was much easier to use and had a lot of great functionality that I feel Expnesify was lacking.

This software seems a lot more streamlined than Concur, so I would recommend it if you are a small company looking for expense management software.

Pros

This software encourages you to take a picture of the receipt right away, then forget about it. It will automatically "smart scan" the receipt and fill in the amount, location, and classification information for you.

Cons

The "smart scan" functionality is most likely just outsourced work, since it can take several hours sometimes to finish.

Quickly deployable expense system.

Pros

Easy to get started and simple to use. Much better than Concur at interfacing with QB. If it wasn't for the more robust interface tool, I wouldn't be using it at all.

Cons

Near zero support. Only option is a online chat and it takes them hours to respond. You can't call anyone to get a simple question answered. Very frustrating. Very limited credit card issuer import. If your bank is not on the list you have to manually configure and it won't let you split a single import and parse out to cardholders after importing transactions. You have to send each user their own card transaction file and they must upload individually. Receipts and expense items disappear without explanation sometimes and you must reload them.

My company has used Concur since the day I started. I must say, I was a fan. Once I had the opportunity to use it for a while, it became very simply. I because a proponent of Concur. We recently began using Expensify and it took NO TIME for me to learn the system. Very intuitive would be an understatement. Love the iPad app most of all. I'm able to reduce time spent doing expense reports which is a HUGE benefit. Thanks for creating a great software!

Expense reporting is easy with Expensify. But it is just that - expense reporting.

Pros

An easy way for corporate expense tracking and reporting. UI is very simple and intuitive. You can do it on the go which is convenient. I really appreciate how smooth and easy it is to update, upload, claim your expenses. Especially comapred to some large systems like SAP.

Some features are still missing, the automatic sync between credit card and Expensify could work better. You still have to do a lot manually.

Don't do it...There are much better alternatives out there

No phone support. Comical chat support (it looks like a chat but really they are just queue jockies that tell you someone will help you). The bank feeds NEVER work properly (even with commercial feeds enabled). The smart scanning created duplicate transactions for everyone this month instead of tagging them to the bank feed transaction. Did I mention that no on at Expensify knows how to use their product. Wish we had never started using. We will be moving to Tallie or Concur asap

Expensify - The Easy to Use & Manage Expense System

Pros

Expensify has a great UI for users and is a very easy system to manage. It's easy and fast to submit and approve expense reports, including when staff are traveling. Expensify is so much simpler than some of the other expense management software (e.g. Concur). Some Finance Teams seem to think that going with a more complex software. However, I've found that while Expensify does not have as many "lock down" features as other software, allows us to easily manage expenses and move things forward quickly. When you balance administrative features and user UI/expense management, I would always go with the latter. Getting those expense reports is the most important, and Expensify makes that easy and simple!

Cons

Expensify's largest drawback is their customer service. For smaller companies at least, there is no account manager and we can only receive support via chat/email. This can be a huge challenge when the integration breaks or something complex needs to change.

Worst Customer Support In the Industry!

This company invests NOTHING in their support. While it may be a simple system from the employee side, it's a complete mess for administrators. There are hundreds of nuances and settings that you have to dig through and spend dozens of hours reading their incomplete and oversimplified support documentation. All of this could be circumvented with a 5 minute phone call. In fact, if it wasn't for their...

Pros

Employees will find most features relatively straightforward.

Cons

They need to seriously improve their customer support. It's messaging ONLY and the support staff takes HOURS to respond and when they do, it's completely off the mark. Their support staff is based in Australia and only work SUNDAYS to THURSDAYS U.S. time.
