Gets the Job Done, but could improve user experience.

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

From the perspective of submitting expenses, it gets the job done and it is fairly easy to get into a flow of submitting them quickly and effectively. There are fields for all relevant information and it is fast to get expenses done.

Cons

There are some things from a design/workflow standpoint that could improve. Line items (expenses) can look cluttered and some of the buttons on the page are a bit redundant. Overall could use a bit of a redesign to make it easier to use. it is difficult to look up past expenses (unless you make a massive export). I wish you could upload multiple receipts at once for an expense.

Money Saver

Reviewed 5 years ago

I have been using this app for almost 3 years and it helped me a lot in saving and reporting the expenses. As it is compatible working with Android's which is very helpful as the accounts and finance teams require these tools to make the work easier for them, and i would recommend to organizations and corporate to use the same if i am given a chance to.

Pros

The most i like is that i can use the software through my mobile and i reach out for my mobile whenever i make any expense or any expense is made in the organization as well as personally. When corporate management expense policies are strict people are relying on the app very much to control or to report the same which helps the management to come to a conclusion. This can also be integrated with credit cards and other CRMS and tools to keep a track of the expense. Busy finance and accounting leaders will definitely need this.

Cons

The least i like is that the tool must be in a way that it can be integrated in as much as CRM's used by the corporate and a bit unsteady during poor receipt of internet connectivity

Can't get in touch with billing team

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

It works, but difficult to figure out and make any changes without talking to a representative.

Cons

I switched over to automatic billing with Emburse Nexonia when they set up their new billing platform in May. They triple charged me and I have been trying to get in touch with them since then to resolve this issue. The only way to get in touch is through a billing form- which I have submitted several times. When I speak to someone from customer service, they cant' give me any billing info and haven't been able to get me in touch with anyone to review these charges from 4 months ago. This is unacceptable that I can't get the money back that was overcharged - especially since we are a small non-profit where every amount counts when we are trying to do good programs.

Great Expense Reporting Solution

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

Very easy to use! The mobile app is fantastic and fully functional. I love being able to upload a receipt on my phone immediately and get expense coding out of the way instead of waiting to sit down once a month with all of my receipts.

Cons

My only complaint is with the pre-approvals process. It's completely functional, but a bit clunky compared to the expense side.

Easy to Use Accurate Timesheet SW

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

Product is seamless to learn to use. When starting a new job it's a huge stress relief that I didn't have to reach out to someone a bunch of times to understand how to log time (like I did in my last job).

Cons

The only thing is that the software is a little bit out-dated. On both the desk-top version and the mobile, when selecting this-weeks hours I find sometimes there is a button with an arrow instead of an actual CTA/ explicitly saying what the button does is my preference. But overall I still love the tool.

Nexonia Expense Reports Review

Reviewed 5 years ago

Overall a positive experience but not something mind blowing. This is a good software & if team behind it keeps updating from time to time, It can give good competition to established names.

Pros

It is easy to use and can be handled without much training. Can be used on phone as well so handy & ready to go. Is not very complex and process can be handled effectively.

Cons

New features should be added. Some more functionalities are required to make it at par with other alternatives in the market.

Easy to Use, Great App Also

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

It's fairly easy to use -- it takes me about 15 minutes to do all of my corporate credit card expenses each month and attach receipts. It's fairly customizable, so our finance team has been able to pre-load several categories and project codes into the system. The app is also fairly easy to use and helpful to save receipts as you pay for things, and then at the end of the month you can simply link them with the actual charges.

Cons

The receipts function can be a bit confusing -- sometimes it shows you receipts that are already linked and other times it doesn't. But overall, this isn't a big issue.

Welcome to the 21st Century

Reviewed 8 years ago

Prior to Nexonia, our company was mired in the paperwork report world. Tying out receipts was a nightmare and reimbursements were delayed due to time spent traveling through the mail. We instituted Nexonia about 2 years ago and our employees love it. It is easy to use, allows for greater visibility by managers and speeds up the reimbursement time-frame. Overall, we are absolutely thrilled with our selection of Nexonia as our expense report vendor.

Pros

Ease of use and tight integration with NetSuite. The fact that I can enter or remove an employee in our CRM and have it flow directly into Nexonia is a huge time saver. We rarely need to utilize the support team, but when we do they are more than happy to roll up their sleeves and take ownership of our issues.

Cons

The only con I can think of is that a year ago, it seemed like new versions were constantly being rolled out and not always tested on different smartphones. For example, we have a large contingent using a Samsung Galaxy that had an issue where launching the camera caused the app to crash. It was eventually resolved, but if I recall it had to do with the latest update that was released. At the time, the Galaxy was a very popular phone.

Too many clicks. Slow attachments.

Reviewed 8 years ago

The are entirely too many clicks required to use the product (e.g. is a comment box pop really required?). Each click takes entirely too long to process.

Pros

Interface is pretty intuitive, but the subject matter is pretty basic. The Time Android App is light and simple.

Cons

- The are entirely too many clicks required to use the product (e.g. is a comment box pop really required?). - Each click takes entirely too long to process. God forbid you try to do expenses on a plane. - Attaching pdf of expenses is glacial. - Where's the batch/group processing of expense items? What if I want to move 10 expenses to a different client/project? Should I really need to open each...

Best AP/AR solution around

Reviewed 6 years ago

It has been a great solution. We transitioned to this from another AP/AR solution. This has eliminated the need for two softwares and we just use this one. I love that it talks with our Accounting solution, saving a lot of time.

Pros

This software is a great AP/AR solution. Our team can easily process their expense reports on the road, no need to keep receipts and manually upload and code in the office. The AP solution is great. It is processed in the system, including all one over one approvals needed. Then it transfers over to Sage Intacct seamlessly, where the checks are printed. This solution transfers the invoice directly to our accounting software, which is a feature a lot of other AP solutions does not offer. It has saved a lot of man hours

Cons

The support offered with this solution can be a little lacking sometimes. I didn't know we had a direct account manager until we were with the software for 2 years. There can be a little lag in customer support getting back to you. But these are things I can look past for the other pros that the software offers.

User Friendly system

Reviewed 4 years ago

It is a easy using system no matter you are submitting your own expense report, or you are running a report to manage how many expense reports submitted in a limited period of time, Nexonia is very easy to use.

Pros

I have been using Nexonia in my prior experiences for more than 5 years, the system is very easy to use, you can complete your expense report submission with easy steps and everyone should have no problem submit their first expense report.

Cons

none at this moment, I believe the only drawback is the limited functions that our company was purchased or used.

Pros

Once you get used to it ,the interface is intuitive and uploading receipts is easy. I appreciate that there are no restrictive file size capacities ,which makes the whole process a lot quicker . The expense report going directly to HR and also being stored in the cloud is also very useful .

Cons

There is definitely a learning curve at the beginning .And I still find it confusing to switch between the different cards on my account .

Nexonia Review

Reviewed 8 years ago

As someone who both submits and approves expense reports, I appreciate the ease of use this product offers. I can do everything from the mobile device app, including approve expenses (while viewing their receipts). What does this mean? My people get paid more quickly, and my to-do list is less cluttered. Submitting reports is just as simple, capture the image of the receipt, categorize and submit; all without having to navigate out of the mobile app. The desktop version is likewise very intuitive. With their drag-and-drop interface to attach receipt files, submitting expense reports is a breeze.

Pros

The mobile functionality, and the ease of the desktop software

Cons

When attaching a receipt from the mobile platform, linking a receipt is not as intuitive as it is on the desktop (though still quite easy).

Great for consolidating expense reports

Reviewed 7 years ago
Pros

- Ease of use for employees (download app and take photos on the go) - Easily customizable to employer's needs - Consolidates receipts in a single file per employee rather than folders with multiple photos - Integration with NetSuite works flawlessly

Cons

- Uploaded/Taken photos cannot be processed (light adjusted or cropped), which sometimes results in receipts being non-legible - Any customization (adding a field or mapping it) must go through Nexonia tech team, therefore is more time consuming

Nexonia Review

Pros

The integration of this software was overall an easy transition for our corporation. We are now able to have a degree of expense visibility that is unmatched. The approval process has reduced unnecessary transactions and helps improve accountability at our organization.

Cons

The functionality of the application can be improved. There are times when the synching between the app and desktop takes more time that expected.

Nexonia missing OCR/functionality; submitting takes forever; impossible to get data when you leave

Reviewed 2 years ago

Emburse seems to buy up these expense reporting platforms, collects money from them and then does not seem to invest in improving any of the functionality. We started with Nexonia around April 2021 and were off by May 2022.There are just so many better options out there for a similar price. We switched to Concur. Although not perfect, it is a thousand times better than Nexonia.

Pros

Not really anything positive to say about this software. Everything we hoped it would be, it wasn't. Customer service was OK. Corporate credit card sync seemed to work fine.

Cons

BEWARE: They do not really have true OCR. This is the biggest downside. Typically, an OCR with expense reporting like Concur or Expensify finds key information and automatically matches this information (vendor, amount) with a corporate transaction. In Nexonia, you need to manually match every...single... transaction. Our users hated it!It took me an hour or more to do an expense report in Nexonia...

Our Positive Experience with Nexonia Expenses

Reviewed 3 years ago

Since we have multi-level approval process, we can be sure that our purchases are correctly recorded and our funds are being spent according to company policy. It helps us have visibility to all our card transactions and helps to control company costs. It has also helped to shorten our monthly financial close and saved time for office personnel who would otherwise manually enter transactions.

Pros

Having a product that is easy to use for both field techs and office professionals has been a big benefit. Our users can submit expenses on the go via the mobile app or on the computer web version.

Cons

Most of the time sync errors indicate what needs to be corrected so that it can successfully transfer to the ERP, but sometimes there are sync errors that are difficult to pinpoint. Nexonia support always helps us get to resolution if that is the case.

A helpful tool for keeping track of project expenses!

Reviewed 8 years ago

I like how easy it is for new users to pick up and use Nexonia. It's easy to figure out, and does a lot of the leg work for you. My favorite feature is getting an auto-generated list of expenses based on my credit card history. Before, I was manually entering the amounts for each expense, which at least doubled the time it took to log expenses. With Nexonia, every transaction on my card is automatically...

Pros

The drag-and-drop feature for receipts, auto-generated entries linked to my credit card, the option to use the mobile app, and the ability to group multiple receipts to one entry.

Adding receipts in real-time is straightforward, and storage is unlimited

Reviewed 2 years ago

My experience with this program has been flawless for the past two years. It's an easy way to keep track of my weekly hours. It accomplishes the task set forth for it. Ensures a smooth approval procedure and decentralized credit card reconciliation, both of which benefit our internal auditors.

Pros

Keeping track of all your spending is simple with Nexonia. You may view prior expenses, unfiled expenses, as well as other information. Adding receipts and keeping track of all submissions is also a breeze. For our team, Nexonia has been a huge asset. It has helped to reduce the number of receipts that have been lost.

Cons

The tax calculator and various fields made it a bit tough to input the total sums at first, but I gradually got the hang of it. The process of adding reimbursements was a bit of a learning curve for me, so I wasn't sure how easy it was to use at first.
