Pros

It's a nice incentive to encourage cost savings for the company and really nice for employees if you aren't too particular about your lodgings.
The ease of use and functionality is great and it makes it easy to track where your reports are at and when it has been approved.
I really enjoy expensify and everything it encapsulates. It's easy, and quite frankly, effective and I recommend to everyone.

Pros

The customer service is also a huge highlight. They are always willing to help and are super friendly.
Overall TechnoServe has had a great experience with Databasics. Their implementation team was excellent and their customer support has been top notch.
Nevertheless, the strongest asset of the Databasics service is the support team. Their effectiveness and expediency is extraordinary.

Cons

Our company have multiple entities in the US and in EU and expensify does not support this, the integration with xero is a mess i don't understand how does it work...My overall experience is bad.
Criminal billing practices. I barely used the software and they are charging me for a year subscription and won't let me cancel.
They violate their own privacy policy by sending out non-product related information to their customer base. This violates the agreement that they make you sign.

Cons

As an administrator, I dislike the fact that I no longer have physical custody of the database for other analysis or reporting needs.
The Jasper reporting system is clunky and sometime our colleagues around the world have trouble accessing it.
Sometimes difficult to understand how to make changes in the system.

Time saved. Less time spent creating and submitting expense reports. Much easier to review other's expense reports.

Pros

Take photos of receipts and it automatically identifies the vendor, $ amount, and sometimes auto-categorizes. It pulls in bank and credit card feeds to generate expense reports with minimal manual work.

Cons

Sometimes the reports get auto-submitted before I'm ready to submit. It requires more backup than is often necessary.

I like how many different policies you can have. We have over 10 tradeshows and I can categorize all my expenses for each tradeshow. Very easy to use and the app is great as well.

Cons

It use to categorize my receipts automatically based on history of categorizing. I miss that feature.

Pros

I love that Expensify enables the picture taking to create the expense and interpret what that picture says. That is software saving me time versus having to manually enter things like many expense reimbursement apps.

Cons

I believe you should be able to edit expenses even if it is not on a report. Editing should be available no matter what the context.

Submitting expense reports takes minimum time and the team can focus on more important things.

Pros

I love how easy it's to submit my monthly expenses for approval and avoid not needed back and forth for clarifications since there are the right fields in place and everything is well structured. Using Expensify is so much easier compared to my experience handling expenses in previous companies.

Cons

It was a challenge to get how it works the first month I did it. I believe there was 1 or 2 onboarding popups which helped to start but I still needed to consult with my manager. I am not sure if more detailed onboarding is something that my company should've set up and such option exists in Expensify or not.

Ease of use, it saves a lot of time when getting my expense reports together.

Pros

Expensify it easy to use. I like using the app on my iPhone to take pictures of my credit card receipts and use those pics in my reports.

Cons

The problems I've had are sometimes I will upload a receipt and it will show that it is in the system, but as much as a week later it will disappear. This has happened several times. On a couple of occasions I have thrown away my paper receipt and that has turned into a real issue. I have also had problems split up charges on my receipt when some are personal and some are business.

Pros

Expensify is in my opinion the best expense option on the market. It is so easy to use and makes expense reports a breeze.

Cons

Not really anything I dislike about expensify, but what I like the least, is I wish the software was a little smarter and able to match expenses if the receipt date is a day or two off from the billing date.

Pros

- Email Receipt Forwarder - Rules that you can configure to automatically handle different assignment automation - User Interface and Experience is very easy - Easy to use mobile application

Cons

OCR technology is not totally there. This isn't a dig on Expensify, but you still need to review your receipts and any that were detailed by the scanning tool.

It allowed our company to switch from manual expense reporting to automated expense reporting. We are now switching to a better expense reporting tool.

Pros

Anyone that has a basic understanding of technology can just load the app and use it to submit reports.

Cons

While Expensify is super user friendly for end-users, the admin side of things is severally lacking. There are very few functions and configurations that can be made on the admin side. Also, the direct integration with QuickBooks Online is great and easy to use, but adding accounts in QuickBooks Online sometimes automatically adds accounts to certain expense policies in Expensify, but not all policies....

Expense reporting is easy with Expensify. But it is just that - expense reporting.

Pros

An easy way for corporate expense tracking and reporting. UI is very simple and intuitive. You can do it on the go which is convenient. I really appreciate how smooth and easy it is to update, upload, claim your expenses. Especially comapred to some large systems like SAP.

Cons

Some features are still missing, the automatic sync between credit card and Expensify could work better. You still have to do a lot manually.

Pros

The software is just as easy to use on the app as it is online. I feel that it is pretty intuitive; not much training needed to get individuals onboarded. I also appreciate the approval process setup.

Cons

The only real issue I'm come across so far is that there are time where I need to put merge multiple expense reports. It would be nice if you could start on the summary expense as the template (the one where you see the summary of all the expenses and their category) instead of starting in the individual expense entry. Also, it'd be nice to have easier functionality around adding multiple receipts for one expense entry.

Cons

Easy expense reports!

Pros

I really like how easy it is to upload pictures of receipts and then Expensify handles the rest. It parses data from receipts very accurately and I usually don't have to make many corrections.

Cons

The only complaint I have is that if you accidentally create a report I haven't been able to figure out how to delete them so I sometimes end up with an empty report hanging around in my account.

Overall expensify is easy to use and works well.

Pros

By far the best part about the software is the simplicity and performance of the website. Everything is lightning fast and the UI is very intuitive and simple. All the basic features are included, from expense categorization, itemization, mileage calculation, receipt scanning, etc. The receipt scanning in particular is great since it will automatically scan for relevant data and input the fields in for you. The mobile app performance is also quite good and is frequently updated.

Cons

The receipt scanning is great ... when it works. Sometimes it will take a LONG time to scan and doesn't scan the receipt correctly. It would be nice to be able to see different expense report views, i.e. by expense type or calendar view.

Quickly deployable expense system.

Pros

Easy to get started and simple to use. Much better than Concur at interfacing with QB. If it wasn't for the more robust interface tool, I wouldn't be using it at all.

Cons

Near zero support. Only option is a online chat and it takes them hours to respond. You can't call anyone to get a simple question answered. Very frustrating. Very limited credit card issuer import. If your bank is not on the list you have to manually configure and it won't let you split a single import and parse out to cardholders after importing transactions. You have to send each user their own card transaction file and they must upload individually. Receipts and expense items disappear without explanation sometimes and you must reload them.

Easy expense report submission.

Pros

I love the convenience of being able to submit work expenses for reimbursement in multiple categories and under different reimbursement schemes. The software facilitates automatic generation of reports and offers automatic submission as well, so I don't have to worry about categorizing or submitting my reports by month, pay period, etc. That can all be customized and automated. It also keeps track of the current reimbursement schemes offered by my company (i.e. current mileage reimbursement rates) so I don't have to manually keep track of that or enter it each time.

Cons

Because there are so many features to the software and customizable options, it loses a bit of the "user friendly" aspect. It also throws a lot of flags on certain expenses that I submit due to rules in the app that don't apply to that category of expenses (i.e. receipts are required for all expenses, but when I'm submitting a mileage expense, a receipt is not applicable). Good app to help simplify expense processing

Streamlines business expense processing

Pros

It's really easy to use, when it works. Charges on my business credit card are automatically picked up as business expenses. If I have an expense I can take a picture of the receipt and have it pull the relevant information for reporting the expense. Assembling the expenses into expense reports is easy to accomplish.

Cons

When using a picture of a receipt, the app frequently struggles with identifying the expense information. I can often attribute the difficulty to the receipt (about half of the time) but there are times that it has difficulty with clear, concise receipts.

Pros

Expensify allows us to capture expense info in real time (before people forget what the expense was for). It also reduces our administrative burden of having to scan receipts and trying to read crinkled receipts. Expense reports can be sent automatically to accounting, or manually after their assistant has had the chance to manually review and correct the entries. The layout of the reports is awesome and has everything we would want.

Cons

The tax section has been a bit problematic. In Canada, we can only claim 50% of the GST incurred on meals and entertainment expenses, so despite having a 2.5% GST tax selection for meals and entertainment, it calculates it based on the amount AFTER tip, which obviously is wrong and needs to be manually calculated. I wish they had a section that broke out tip and subtotal for this reason.

Expense Reports that Don't stink

Expense reporting has historically been a major pain point for employees. Several have commented that expense reporting can sometimes take an entire morning or afternoon to complete. Expensify, more than any other benefit, saves our employees valuable time. Whether adding receipt images, uploading files, or adding new expenses, Expensify takes the pain out of expense reporting. And that's not an easy thing to do!

Pros

Expensify's tagline, 'Expense Reports that Don't stink' tells you everything you need to know! I've used a variety of expense reporting system and Expensify is by far the best. With a phenomenal mobile app and simple integration options to link credit cards, Expensify actually makes creating and modifying expense reports a snap. And, with a super modern, responsively designed interface, it's easy for anyone to create new reports, add new expenses, and view and print existing reports.

Cons

It would be nice if there was an ability to see additional reporting regarding spending habits or the ability to see reports based on expense types, such as travel or food and beverage.
