Pros

It has a great interface which makes it feel very easy to use and has a great set of templates you can use from the beginning for various accounting needs.
For a small company as myself the excellent invoice features has been very helpful and useful.
FreshBooks combined with other applications is a great tool. In any case, if you want to create invoices and send it in a split second and then track and monitor its progress, I recommend FreshBooks.

Pros

I've experimented with quite a few apps and scheduling software over the years and I've just stared using Timely and its great. The ease of use and options are great.
Whenever I have emailed for support, the reply is speedy and I have always gotten a resolution. Affordable, user friendly, customizable, and overall a great choice.
The sms reminders are great and my customers love them. Having job locations populate with one click is also great.

Cons

We would lose all of that if we switched, so unfortunately we are stuck with having to use this horrible new format.
It is really frustrating to have a client not be able to pay through the invoice, and for this reason, only, I have been considering a new software company.
Tier based pricing from Lite to Premier is a bit confusing. WePay advocates having a Chase bank account for faster processing otherwise fails to integrate.

Cons

I would get myself into such a mess that I would occasionally double book myself, or forget to write an appointment in and sometimes write the appointment on the wrong date.
Everything transferred to a public vote to actually get attention and get into action, takes forever. Other then that, was charged by mistake and got credit instead of my money back.
After searching for months and finding nothing but limited and ridiculous expensive booking system software i stumbled across timley.

Excellent tool for a solo shop

Billing and financial tracking in a timely and efficient manner.

Pros

The automatic invoicing makes it easy to make sure recurring invoices go out on time. Getting paid is all about sending out the bills and Freshbooks makes that part a no-brainer, especially when you're focused on getting the work done.

Cons

The software is a little light on the reporting side and it would be nice if it offered more basic accounting functionality.

The ability to quickly and easily create professional invoices for customers and receive payments in a timely fashion.

Pros

I love the interface and how easy it is to use. It's nice and clean and easy to navigate. The ability to personalize invoices allows you to put forth professional looking invoices for your customers.

Cons

There is a limit on credit card transactions and the fees associated with allowing credit card payments are very painful.

An excellent tool for a personal business

I love that you can add different clients and have preferences for each of those clients. I bought it for the time tracking features, and I stay because invoicing and payments are so easy.

Pros

Great customer service! I absolutely love this product. Very efficient and easy to use.

Cons

There was not much that I disliked! I had a problem once with my account and the staff at FreshBooks were very attentive, timely, and fixed my issue immediately.

It was a great software to use when I first opened my law firm.

Pros

Ease of sending invoices via email and being able to see who has viewed the invoice. Also great to see what clients are paying timely.

Cons

There is no way to search current unbilled time. Sometimes, I have to capture time that has been incurred but not yet invoiced. You have to go and review each day to find your time entries rather than just searching by client or project.

Pros

The customer service is the best EVER! They are amazingly helpful and responsive, and you can actually connect with them in a timely manner. The invoices are very attractive and the mobile app is super easy to use.

Cons

Very limited features, for a very expensive price. Not a good value. Be advised this is NOT accounting software. This is bookkeeping only, and not a good fit for a company with vary many users.

Sending auto emails when an invoice is late (DON'T like you removed the master templates for these).

Pros

Sending automatic reminder emails with late fees. Keeps my accounts receivable timely - with payments rarely exceeding a few days late if at all. Being able to see revenue at a glance. Ease of adding and editing the line items on an invoice. Layout, invoice and email design.

Cons

The new version no longer has a default optoin to send late emails. I don't like having to recreate the standards for every client. I also don't like there's no longer master templates to send personalized emails with personalized subjects. This now feels more like a collection service vs an invitation into our culture. No longer having default terms - if I change one invoice, it changes it for all future ones. I need the base to stay the same and then I change the dates. No longer having an option to pay by Paypal. Many of my customers prefer this method.

I dove in head first to use this software after researching several different options. This one listed all the features I needed so I trusted it and should’ve tested the waters first because it didn’t fully implement all the features to the extent needed. I ended up right back with QuickBooks and a mess of transition.

Pros

I loved the features freshbooks DOES offer and its mobile format is fantastic and convenient. The price is great as well.

Cons

What I didn’t like about FreshBooks is that it was very difficult to reach a customer service rep especially in a timely manner. This is critical especially when the features aren’t correctly functioning. It seemed to be just short of the missing piece of each feature but so close to perfection.

Pros

I like that I can generate invoices for clients that look professional so I am paid in a timely manner. You can quickly look at which invoices are outstanding and mark ones that have been paid. It is really helpful as a self employed buisness owner.

Pros

Ease of use and functionality. The layout fits a natural workflow. Frequent tasks are immediately available. More arcane tasks are hidden, but easy to find. The output is professional, and I find the notifications are timely and relevant. My experience with support was good insofar as rapid, helpful suggestions were given.

Cons

Importing from external sources (e.g., banks) could be easier. A large part of the problem lies with banks not sharing nice. It would be helpful if there was some kind of cave or xls etl

I've grown, Freshbooks has grown; we've grown together over the years. Really no complaints - and a support team that other companies should model themselves after!

Pros

Ease of use, especially since the redesign, integrations with PayPal, etc. does save some time, integrated time tracker (although I still primarily use Toggl), makes book keeping - dare I say - fun? (Ok, as fun as it can be!). Great support - I've had timely replies every day of the week and after hours. Impressive!

Cons

I've had some integration issue (transactions not coming in, duplicates, etc.) but Support has always been helpful. They've offered to manually import transactions for me on more than one occasion. I'm on a paid tier but I'd have to pay more for some of the features I wouldn't mind trying out. Not in love with the subscription model, especially when many of the new features require higher tiers. Doesn't really make sense to be hooked up to an eCommerce platform given their tier limitations.

Rediscovering FreshBooks after several years

I had used FB several years ago (now called Classic). I liked that interface better, and it seems to have more options / flexibility than FreshBooks New. Admittedly, I need training. It is fairly easy to just start using. I hope I can find some of the settings / adjustments buried somewhere.

Pros

Customer service is great. A rep hopped to when I had a question about electronically importing time entries from other programs / files (csv). Unfortunately, FB doesn't currently have that capability (see Con below). The rep offered to, then timely completed, manual copy and paste of some 100 time entries from a csv file into my FB Account. Kudos!

Cons

No integration with either Toggl or TSheets. I had been using those programs for a month or so testing them, and wanted to import those entries into FB. No can do. Those timers seem more robust than the FB Timer. I'd like to use one of them then import into FB. I haven't yet found a Windows app for the Timer. Pros

Use Freshbook for some time and the most remarkable thing is that it is through the internet. This allows finances to be managed from anywhere in the world. Among the features to highlight, the reporting system is one of the best I've worked with. Thanks to a good number of filters, it is easy to generate timely and accurate information reports

Cons

The most negative thing about Freshbooks is that it only works through the internet, it represents a point against, given the impossibility of working offline. Sometimes it is good to advance work on the plane or in other places where there is no internet connection and this is not possible

Great invoice service

Using this accounting software, you can easily keep your books and accounts in order, get timely payment and spend less time over complicated accounting tasks. With multiple client support with various locations and currencies, you can be sure that this software will easily handle most of the complex situations you might encounter.

Pros

One of the things a like the most about Freshbooks its the ability to accept different types of currency, so users can invoice and accept payments in any currency. Users can process payments for multiple client invoices simultaneously, and with its excellent and time tracking capability, users can easy track project time in 15 minute increments, check off the Billable option, and later invoice the client for the time.

Cons

I'll like an improvement on the iPhone app. The iPhone application was okay, but needed tweaking in order to make it fully functional.

radically improved billing process

I started using this product because my handwritten invoices were difficult to maintain, looked unprofessional and resulted in more disputed bills. Now that I use Freshbooks and the great timeclock feature I get fewer disputes and more timely payment. The $30 / month resulted in at least $1k more per month income.

Fantastic Cloud based accounting

Saves me hours of time in saving and reviewing expenses. Plus automated recurring invoices prompt me to bill recurring clients and get paid more regularly.

Pros

iPhone and iPad app is great allowing you to take photos of receipts and instantly enter and save your expense. Support is fast and helpful from actual people with timely responses to email. Easily create projects, time budgets and then generate invoices from time entries. Full colour/logo customization even on free plan. Integrate with lots of other helpful business apps - Basecamp, Google, Xero, etc. Easily add users as sub-contractors and create teams to track times and expenses.

Cons

Could be a little less expensive for the low-user plan...but still worth the cost for what it saves me in time.

Freshbooks for an Italian consultant

As an Italian lawyer, I advise a limited number of Italian and international clients and do my admin myself. Producing and sending accurate and timely Pro-forma invoices ("estimates" in Freshbooks terms), then invoices upon receipt of payment, and even worse recording expenses was a nightmare. It no longer is. The SW does take my time, but it forces me to be accurate and did solve the problem of communication with the accountant/tax advisor.

Pros

Easy, reliable, it did solve a ton of problems for me. In particular, my documents (invoices and expense receipts, mainly) are safely and orderly kept in there.

Cons

As I mostly issue invoices to Italian clients, the setup was somewhat more complex: the application was not conceived to handle Italian taxation intricacies when preparing estimates, invoices. But I did manage around the difficulties, and it did reorder my administrative life. One suggestion: it would be very helpful to have the option to let the accountant see and print/download the attachments or edit the expenses; basically they should be able to do almost all I can do with the SW. I had to give to an accountant my password, so he can now access Freshbooks as if he was me. They warn me when they do...

Personally, I needed software that simplified booking my appointments, invoicing, and bookkeeping. I was having to manually enter invoices twice: once into my invoicing system (Freshbooks) and another into my accounting system (Xero). It was an unnecessary time waste. For the same price as Freshbooks, I now have a system that does appt tracking, invoicing, and those invoices automatically are entered...
