Accounts Payable & Receivable

Intacct automates most accounts payable and receivable processes for businesses. Finance departments are able to automate tactical vendor management workflows across the accounts payable process, which allows them to focus on more high-value insights and targeted efficiencies. Organizations can also make accounts receivable tasks more efficient through automated invoicing and collections.

Intacct allows you to connect your Accounts Receivable to the rest of your business. It is also able to work with existing CRM solutions to provide you with a unified view of all quotes, sales orders, and pending invoices. Your transactions will be automatically posted to your general ledger and your accounts receivable ledger, which enables you to streamline billing tasks.

Order Management

As businesses grow, the details in a typical order management process can get complicated quickly. For example, changes in orders can be difficult to make when businesses utilize multiple systems for record keeping. Intacct is attempting to close this gap and decrease inefficiencies within the order management process through the use of strategic automation.

Rather than manually entering order information across one, two, or even three record keeping applications, you can integrate Intacct into your workflow and configure a new series of comprehensive pricing requirements. As new orders come in, a single click will trigger fulfillment, billing, and revenue accounting. This reduces overall costs and improves client satisfaction, as well.

Reporting & Dashboards

Intacct tracks both operational and financial data and provides it to middle market organizations in a way that is intuitive. Managers and executives who use it for creating visualizations of data have a more complete view of their organizations, and they can discover the answers to detailed business questions.

By clicking on the Reporting tab from the dashboard, you can create virtually any type of report in seconds. You also have the option of creating visualizations of data. Intacct is able to capture the context of your transactions, operational measurements, and budgets. It creates reports that analyze business performance in real time.

Multi-Entity Consolidations

Multi-entity consolidation makes business growth easier. Financials for multiple locations are streamlined when organizations use Intacct’s ERP tools, and activities like currency conversion, inter-entity transactions, and local tax reporting are automated in order to eliminate the need for manual data entry and encourage sustained growth.

Utilizing multi-entity consolidation, you can review summary figures and perform financial consolidations at any time. Intacct generates journal entries for each consolidation, which means that comprehensive financial statements are ready when you need them. You can even set up new entities with configurable rules for transactions and bank accounts using Intacct’s tools.

Other benefits include, ability to import any type of transaction, ability to bulk export all GL transaction data (a personal favorite), a robust API allowing for integration with internal databases, payroll software, etc.

Cons

After speaking with a consultant, we determined the issues, corrected them, and have produced real time advanced reports which have provided a level of insight which was unachievable within other accounting software.

From Quickbooks to Intacct

We are a global company with 5 different sub-companies and we needed a better solution than Quickbooks for consolidations and multiple currencies. We went through a review process of several vendors and thought Intacct was the right solution.

Pros

The reporting is usable once the configurations and parameters are set up properly.

Cons

Customization of templates requires duplication if using order entry and accounts receivable (i.e. a different template with different codes for an invoice).

Perhaps the best feature is that it has dimensions that allow you to put information on so many different levels, which gives you comprehensive visibility into the finances of your organization. The dashboards are amazing as well.

Pros

There are several things I like best about this product and vendor: Product: 1) Cloud service is nice - you can access the product from any location and we have not experienced any down time to date 2) Automatic Allocations allow us to allocate invoices and journal entries upon entry instead of waiting until the end of the month 3) Reports are easy to write and very versatile 4) Dimensional tracking allows you to track more than just an account number for each transaction line item.

Cons

Since we are allocating many of our invoices to multiple dimensions as they are entered, the GL shows multiple lines for each AP invoice.

Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct

It is a great option if you are looking to allocate transactions upon entry and if you are looking to track other items such as departments, projects, locations, etc in addition to the account number. The reporting options are endless and it is nice to be able to report on accounts in addition to dimensions or some combination thereof.

Still in implementation phase...but proving to be exactly what we are looking for.

Exactly what we want - cloud-based; flexible; allows for growth; pay for only what you need. Also small up-front cost, so in the event it doesn't work for your company down the line, you don't have to worry much about walking away to implement something else. I sense that the Sage Intacct people "get this" and are very helpful...knowing that they need to earn our business every day.

Pros

Still in our implementation process - but system is very flexible, has great high-level reporting including multiple dashboards, while still allowing viewer to drill down to detail.

Cons

We haven't experienced all of the potential trouble-spots in similar products; e.g. integration with other systems and importing/exporting data.
