As someone who is just starting their own tax preparation business, I have to say that I cannot recommend this device enough. It is everything a tax preparer could ask for.
-Error correction -Automatically calculates tax as you prepare the return -Listing of all available forms -Home Base feature for client list
-It can be tricky to use if you are not used to working with it before. However there are plenty of tutorials and once you get the hang of it you are good to go

Overall, I love pro series and am very impressed with the quality of work it does with such ease.
I’m an entry level accountant and ProSeries is probably the easiest way to learn how to do taxes. Very easy to implement and it teaches you a lot while you go.
The interface still seems a bit archaic and the database can be quite messy sometimes. Nothing is worse than when you lose info that you need for a client.

I was very happy with the software when I was able to install on our server; I was out of service for two days due to no internet service .. I called Intuit twice, I was on hold over two hours each time and no none bother to pick up the phone.
None this year. Very unhappy. Highly considering switching to a new software company for our next tax season.
The pro-connect .. it slows the process, it crashes! Again, our internet provided was out of service during the heavy tax season and I was not able to serve my clients over two days.

All the features that are included. E-filing, error checking, and transferable data from year to year are just some of the features included.
The software can be a little complicated at first but there are help buttons available.

I used Proseries from 2009 through 2017.
Proseries is easy to use and I especially like the forms based input method it utilizes. There are different subscription levels so you can tailor it to your needs and budget. I found the customer service to be very good and the support staff is knowledgeable.
It is desktop based, so you have to run updates. There is the possibility of data loss if you don't back it up somewhere off the local computer.

Been with them for 15 plus years. Their pricing costs me more for being loyal. I was shocked when my friend and I were on a joint renewal call for 1040 complete package: mine costs $1,838.00 his $ 714. I conclude, they do need me any longer; so I am switching and hope to offer my client better deals and tax prep fees savings.
I think it is easy to use especially for beginners.
Loyal customers pay more for their software. 1040 complete for me: $ 1,839.00 for my referred friend: $714. When I call and ask why, no detail. as much as I want to stay with them, sorry got to. Price discrimination hurts growth and destroy loyalty.

NOT HAPPY WITH PROCONNECT, I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD STARTING PROGRAM AND IT WAS UNTIL NOW WHEN THEY DOUBLED THEIR TAX SOFTWARE FEES I LOOKING FOR ANOTHER COMPANY

Not having much experience with any other software I can't compare only judge based on what I've learned from using Inuit.
Fairly easy to navigate the basics, even for a rookie. Answers are always found for questions or issues I could be having, even though the search can sometimes be extensive. Invoicing within the program is the best option and very handy big time save. Overall the value is a good deal and I don't regret my purchase.
Customer service takes a very long time to go through and actually answer questions I have. Monthly fee is a little bit on the high side. I've found it easier to search the web than to call CS for most questions or issues. Had an issue with IRS and state agency connections.

Being able to have the guided help through the tax filing process. The website has an easy layout to understand, and being able to go back through and review before filing on your own is nice.
Understanding some of the questions on a more complicated tax return, not sure which answer would be right. The pricing is a little high compared to some of the other websites to file.

In general I like their service and will continue to use it for now. There are still points of frustration for me, though, so I am considering moving to a new service.
It's easy to work with online. My practice is 100% virtual, so it's nice to be able to work within the cloud and share with my team online. The customer service hotline is very responsive.
The user interface isn't particularly intuitive. Also, I pretty regularly run into issues that take FOREVER to figure out- they really need to improve their troubleshooting.

I have been using Turbo Tax and Professional Pro series products for years. This year, I found a bug in a system and called to ask if it can be fixed since I prepare over 1000 of taxes and if it is fixed, will make my life easier. First, for 45 minutes, I talked to technical support who couldn't help me. Then I was transferred to a manager. I explained the issue and asked for the small problem in the system to be fixed. He said that it can't be fixed and if I do not like using Pro series, I can find another software and use it. Goodbye. He literally talked to me for one minute. I have been using Pro series for 10 years, filed over 20,000 tax returns and got hanged up in a minute by manager!!

We set up a pay per return account, really we wanted something different but were convinced that the deferred payment plan was our best option, now the sales rep left out very important details and took forever to get us set up (2 Weeks)! payment was not due until march the 2 but we received calls stating that a payment was due Feb. 1 shortly after we received several emails stating that our account was on hold, we tried calling customer support and just got the run around, we were told that we would be called back and still have not been called this is the most unprofessional company to go with and I will not be supporting them next year.
The product its self is easy to use.
Horrible customer service and sales reps did not fully explain the product fees associated with our software account.

Don't waste your time with this vendor
Used software since 2000 and phone support always exceptional.
Product Phone Support Service is totally inferior and not what is expected. Running a tax office not wanting to wait hours on the phone on hold as they do not have enough experts to answer questions and provide solutions. The cost of the software is expensive for the support given

Speed of calculations is very good, better than other programs to which I am familiar. Electronic filing is adequate.
Asset management/depreciation is poorly integrated into the program. Depreciation amounts are not automatically stated on balance sheet. Program does not provide for sale of group-assets.

I think Intuit needs better customer care support
It is easy to use. The transfer from year to year is easy. I used to think the customer service was good but no longer.
Customer service is awful. 45 minutes to 2 hours on hold every time I have an issue and I've had more issues this year than in the past 5 years combined

A small business sometimes cant afford accountants. This software gives you a solid platform to fully gain the benefits and tax deductions a small business deserves. Easy user friendly interface. Easily see what you've earned. What was deductible , and get more of your money back at the end of the year.
Obviously price is always a concern but after using this software and seeing how much I could write off I realized the price was worth it.

It is simple once you become familiarized with the software. It is very helpful to be able to have something keep track of expenses.
It takes some time to get acquainted with the software and how it works but once that learning curve has been passed your in business.

This is a tool I rely on and gets the distasteful job done.
Having learned it, I find it relatively easy to use. The software incorporated the tax laws into it so I don't have to know all the calculations or laws to use it.
There is always cons when doing taxes, but this makes it less of a con. Don't really know what I'd change.

This product really took care of me when I had to file my taxes during the normal tax season. It really is like someone double checking your work to make sure you are not only doing things correctly but also taking full advantage of any funds that you are entitled too! I was super intimidated by doing taxes and now its a breeze!
I was sort of taken aback by the price of the product as I didn't think it was worth what they charge for it! Granted, you can certainly use this software as a tool to get back more from your refund, which would offset the cost. But the return on investment is slow making this a LONG term investment.

The software is good within it at giving assistance of where something should appear on the tax forms. It is also easy to transfer clients from year to year.
Costs and the fact that they made me pay for something I wasn't going to use until the following year.

Definitely something you must learn how to use in order to get a tax write-off.
You can take photos of receipts and it calculates for you to make doing taxes easier. Definitely a time saver.
You either wait on software to take image and or have tow rite everything in detail one by one. Definitely a process to learn.

It does all the things you need it to. It calculates your payroll, your quarterly reports, etc. Most accounting professionals use it or at least have software that is compatible, so it's easy to use in conjunction with your tax professionals.
They are ALWAYS trying to sell you something more.

the .txf capial gains tax import feature is the only thing in the program that is worthwhile and that no other software that I know of uses
