MYOB is most definitely one of the worse companies i've ever dealt with. Customer service is non existent. Took literally months to reduce my licenses. Account manager doesn't reply to email unless you cc the general manager in.
nothing at all i liked about this product. Would not reccomend

I have been using the MYOB Essentials purely for payroll of a bout 10 employees. I find the customer service frustrating as it seems impossible to actually speak to anyone. However the taxation reporting is very user friendly and makes very monthly reporting and payment very easy to use. Overall, the price is very good and for the purposes of just payroll it does the job reasonably well

MYOB has been the main software package in my business for over 18 years I would have to say that this is the slowest version I have ever come across and am very disappointed, between the not being able to create a new customer in the invoice to having timed out when Im not in cloud it is very frustrating to work with, MYOB you were once good is this the sign of the future?????. there may be bugs but really for the cost of the software I would have thought you could afford better software engineers or are you cutting corners.

simple use for data entry within the software, simple offline product to use for accounting & bookkeeping.

Cloud based and extremely speedy. Bank feeds are easier to navigate and interpret than competitors. Support is good.
Hard sell to clients who are aware of other market leaders in the cloud accounting space. Practice level reporting and tools aren't up to par compared to competitors.

Cheap, easy to set up, basically does the job that you need it to do.
Once on it, you cannot graduate to Account Right Live or other products if your organisation grows. You are basically stuck on a sub standard product. App ecosystem is not robust.

Could based software makes it easy to log into from any computer and phone to make changes or reconcile transactions. Really like MYOB Essentials

This is a very simplified online version of MYOB accounting service which is ideal for a small business with one or two contractors. You are able to have one employee on payroll, but if you have more, you need to pay additional money each month to allow for this. It is easy to navigate and does have some good features like the in-tray and linked bank accounts. I found that the cost compared to Account Right was pretty close once I added my PAYG employees to the system. I needed more complex options so I switched over.

As a small business, its got everything we need it in. The downside is that the mobile app is very limited. All you can do on it is view or create invoices and take payments, which is where it also comes in handy. We purchased PayDirect card reader for a one time payment. It doesnt have on-going chargers, like many others do, but just minimal fees for eftpos transaction and 1.95% for credit cards.

Bookwiz Bookkeeping has been operating since 2000 and over the years we have used many accounting software products. MYOB is hands down the best Accounting & Payroll Software solution for our clients and we highly recommend it. We now have nearly all of our clients online and with features like Bank Feeds and Pay Super we have been able to really streamline the bookkeeping and payroll process for our clients which they love as it saves them money. We also love that MYOB caters for the very small business operators out there by have a very affordable and easy to use solution for them which is MYOB Essentials.

Simple to generate a quote or invoice. Creating customers while creating quotes or invoices is good to keep you moving easily. Good integration features, such as cards.
When theres an error, sometimes its not clear what the source of the problem is. This can be frustrating and better error message text would be on the advice to developers list.

I used this to do a charity accounts. I think I was using a much older version of MYOB. It was bug free and reliable. It was fast. Tasks were very repetitive though and it would help if I could duplicate entries more.

not good too complicated for a beginner like myself
I used Myob for the first 6 months of my own business was way too complicated for me.
Very complicated if you are not up to date with all the terminology of accounting if not for that I would have continued to use MYOB.

Payroll is very easy. Bank feed, bank rules and reconciliation help to save a lot of time. Very simple dashboard. Good support.
No scan of documents on the go. No app to use the software yet. Don't offer all the functionalities of the computer version

Feature-rich, more than enough features. Many built-in functions and formulae that can be used to speed up the process.
Design can be sleeker and more customisable, to make it more user friendly. Inability to charge bulk transactions.
