Easy to use. Very useful if you need to write a check between normal payroll periods. Payroll companies charge extra for this.

If you use Quickbooks, this package is not the best, but probably better than any other payroll software except for Quickbooks Payroll that is fully integrated. QB's does not make it easy if you use other payroll systems. However they are 2-3 times more costly than Patriot.

The software is relatively easy to use but the best part is if you are confused, you can get customer service to help you out and they usually walk you right through the process.

I wish there was a feature that reminded you that you have to input your payroll. I pay myself quarterly and sometimes I forget to input the payroll. I would appreciate an email telling me that based upon my quarterly payroll I should input my stuff before it is too late.

Pros: simplicity of use, high value with investment, ability to troubleshoot with a real person with limited Wait time!!

Cons: For any small business, to me, it far surpasses the market space for ease of use, customer service, and integration.

As an entrepreneur and manager, I've had many payroll companies with many of my previous companies. Hands down, Patriot Software is the best payroll product for the dollar. For small businesses, it provides exactly what you need, with a simple interface and great customer support, at a fraction of what other payroll vendors charge.

The only reason I have had to migrate away from Patriot is I need access to a an owner driven company retirement plan.

Very well designed and easy to use. As a result, also very efficient.

No specific dislikes but accounting software needs a couple of additional features such as allowing one to process refunds to customers and not simply provide a credit to a customer's account. Also, the printed vendor payment history report needs to include check numbers to each vendor.

Patriot Software is easy to use and takes care of a lot of administrative tasks.

The cost may appear to be a bit prohibitive but it is definitely worth the price.

The set-up of patriot is guided properly for first time users.

When they stopped reporting payroll to The IRS and Patriot never formerly made us aware and we received notice from IRS to let us know we did not report or pay our 941 quarter tax.

The interface is intuitive and very simple to use.

Report section is not as robust as I would like -- for example variations of reports.

It is pretty easy to use, price is good. Costumer service is very accessible

Sometimes is hard to find the feature you need but once you call costumer service they walk you through it

Very affordable and easy to use. They handle all the painful tax matters that go along with doing payroll.

There are a few categories that are hard to track like employees loans.

Software is web based and prints checks. Better than some other web based software I have used in the past.

Finding historical data is sometimes difficult and not that intuitive.

They do all the work for me. I don't have to remember the quarterly taxes, the direct deposit feature is a time saver and paper reducer and making 1099's & W-2's is effortless.

At this time I can not think of a con to this program

This payroll software was easy to setup with use of tutorials and begin using swiftly. The price is cheap and has all the basic functions you need to run simple payroll, and you can cancel at any time with no obligation. For an extra fee, the software will also file all mandatory forms for you with the correct government agencies by their deadlines.

It can be a hassle to make changes to payroll if you make a mistake when you originally run it, which can in turn compromise the bottom line on your government payroll forms. It is just simpler for me to file the tax forms myself, but not everyone knows how to do that.

Just to clarify, you can easily void payrolls in the software without worrying about your 941 submissions IF the payrolls are changed before the quarter closes and payroll tax filings are submitted. Of course, if payrolls are changed after Patriot Software files, amended returns will need to be submitted, which we are happy to do for our full service payroll customers.

When I started hiring employees for the first time the paperwork intimidated me. Patriot kept that from becoming a barrior as I expanded my small business.

I can't really complain about anything! Good work.

Payroll with ability to pay employees or 1099 contractors. The accounting software helps me keep track of expenses for tax time and for paying back out of pocket gas, parking, and tolls. When I call with a question, they always solve my problem or direct me on what I need to do. They're very helpful.

There is a learning curve to get things set up, and the phone system for getting in touch is very awkward as you need a code to begin a call. I assume this is the security method they use for the accounts, I'm grateful for that but it could be improved.

Patriot Software is a quick setup and you can easily add many employees at any time to a new or existing payroll. On demand payroll is convenient as well for when people need to be paid for different jobs.

Can be difficult to know if you are giving the right tax information while you are filling out information. It could be helpful to have some information regarding which categories one may belong to.
