Pros

It's a user friendly service with great customer care, wonderful service if u have a small business.
Fields to fill and perfectly links the data from one end like ap and AR to the bank reconciliation. Great reports on transactions for the month or period if interest.
We love that it helps us streamline efforts, is easy to use, and is easy to train others on. QuickBooks Online has definitely been one of the best technology pieces of our administration.

Pros

Its super simple to use and easy to get around to the information i'm looking for. I really like the fun things they send when you get paid.
We use it for payroll and benefits and its simple and effective. The customer service is also great as they are "human" because they actually listen and answer questions.
Not only do they make it easy to use the platform, the dashboard and overall experience with their tool is pleasant and truly great.

Cons

This is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable from the company that is supposed to have your books.
The problem is that doing your own taxes online becomes risky the more you have to account for.
Other than tracking my expenditures, the whole system is a pain. Error messages constantly received because "there's a message from your bank" bla bla bla.

Cons

Tax calculations and deductions for each employee is difficult to achieve with the software. Leave management is restricted to admininistrator alone.
I now use a different service because I was tired of the lack of organization in this regard, and the implication that by expecting more, I was being unreasonable.
My biggest frustration is inability to sign documents. I still have to use Docusign then upload the documentation into the individual profiles instead of kicking it off directly during onboarding.

Overall our experience has been excellent, the help features are useful, it allows us a nice overview of how the business is doing at a glance, and has helped us recognize areas in which our business could improve.

Pros

QBO has allowed us to minimize time spent on invoicing, has allowed our clients to pay easily, and integrates with our banking apps seamlessly. It has definitely made us more efficient and has allowed us to spend our time where it matters most.

Cons

The integration with Gusto wasn't seamless but our accountant was able to assist us in aligning the two.

Helps to get adequate financial picture of business and track expenses, helps to plan for future.

Pros

Ease of access, can log in using google account as well as regular login credentials. Easily integrates with payroll company Gusto, and payment processing Stripe. Great training videos and support through accounting firm as well.

Cons

Not entirely intuitive to find where errors or corrections are, and could do a better job at automatically identifying source of expense as synced from outside accounts.

For a small to medium business this is a great solution with a lot of key integrations!

Pros

Being able to access our accounting software from anywhere on any computer WITHOUT using a program like GoToMyPC has been amazing. Also works seamlessly with our payroll program (Gusto) and talks pretty well with our banks and credit cards.

Cons

Not quite as smooth as the desk top version, features are still being integrated (like price levels). No big deal breakers though.

Pros

It was relatively easy to get set up and started. QB also has a ton of integrations which makes it easier to adopt other solutions like Gusto. For a startup, QB provides a good amount of structure and helps to enforce good financial hygiene without feeling too onerous.

Cons

QB makes it hard to track recurring revenues for SaaS companies. Not sure how to fix this but if there was a way for HubSpot, QB, and Stripe to more seamlessly talk to each other, that would be ideal.

I am a CPA and I have several clients that use Gusto for their payroll. This is great for me...because I hate payroll. ;) I always list it as an option when I have new small business clients that need payroll.

Pros

The pricing is very attractive compared to other providers.

Cons

The connection to Quickbooks Online isn't as seamless as hoped.

Gusto is a good low-cost software for payroll. Customer support is uneven, mostly due to Covid. They are focusing their efforts on mid-sized or larger companies.

Pros

Gusto integrates well with Quickbooks Online. It's also fairly easy to onboard new clients/employees.

Cons

he reports are hard to figure out. I've had trouble looking finding what I'm looking for. Don't like how their journal entries work.

Easy online or phone platform, integrates seamlessly with Quickbooks online. Very smooth and easy on-boarding, no added or surprise fees, low monthly subscription, and fantastic customer care.

Pros

Great customer care and attention, perfect fit for a small business that plans to grow, does not break the bank while trying to pay employees.

Cons

Had a hard time identifying signatory, which added an extra step to the onboarding process, but otherwise, a very smooth and user friendly system that prompts you when something still needs completed.

My previous experiences with third-party payroll companies has always been a MASSIVE headache. Onboarding new employees always required jumping through hoops and getting touch with anyone if there was a problem or I had a question...

If you are looking for a payroll provider with some HR capability, GUSTO is definitely going to serve you well. It was super easy to setup, very supportive help desk and you can actually chat with support while you are in the tool, allowing them to help you in real time. I moved to GUSTO from Zenefits and will say I am very happy I did! Highly recommended.

Pros

Very Simple to use Superb customer support (Online Chat with support while working) Great flexibility integrating with QuickBooks and time keeping Easy to add payroll deductions for all your benefits and/or other payroll deductions

Cons

Gusto has no integrated Background Check capability Gusto could use more HR features, although they do have a capbility to do self unboarding.

Great payroll software

Pros

I like that Gusto integrates with quickbooks online easily. You can set up the accounting categories for each employees paystub so you don't have to manually categorize the paystubs in quickbooks every pay period. Gusto was also very easy to set up, has a reasonable fee, and we have not had any payroll issues so far. Employees can log into their own accounts to access their paystubs, time off, etc.

Cons

I don't love that the quickbooks integration enters the withdrawals in a journal entry but it doesn't make a huge difference and that's the only complaint I've had so far so we're sticking with it!

Making payroll painless

Since switching over to ZenPayroll our team has noticed an increase in productivity surrounding payroll tasks. This increase was so substantial we actually obtained a positive ROI in less than 3 months. Which as you can imagine is outstanding.

Pros

Easy to use, user friendly interface, integrates with Quickbooks.

Cons

No mobile app or plans to release one, a huge limitation for a creative world.

We have several clients that use Gusto for their payroll. We also recommend them to new business owners who do not have payroll. The ease of use and reporting are paramount for our clients.

Pros

We LOVE how easy it is to integrate with QuickBooks.

Cons

Great way to manage payroll and HR functions

Pros

Using this tool has made it much easier to run onboarding from a HR perspective, and to manage payroll. I really like that we can sign up for health plans directly within the tool.

Cons

I wish it was more easily integrated with Quickbooks software for accounting purposes.

Life Changing. No more paying payroll taxes and doing tedious calculations

Beyond pleased. I don't know what I am going to do with all of my saved time and stress, but I can't begin to thank Gusto enough. I am uterly shocked with how easy it is to run payroll. A monkey could run payroll. My 3 year old niece probably could as well. Gusto truly does make it THAT EASY!

Pros

I am shocked with how easy Gusto makes it for us to do payroll. Honestly so easy a monkey could do it. We used to have to deal with calculating all of the appropriate taxes and then remit them to the right entities and hope that we did it right. Now we run payroll in less than 5 minutes. I love the time tracking feature and even more I love that I can download a pdf of the time sheet for the period to send it to our owner for approval before I run payroll.

Cons

I really wish there was a way to integrate with Quickbooks so that we can do job costing. I understand this is a big ask, but it would make choosing Gusto over Quickbooks payroll a no brainer.

Couldn't be happier! Way better than Quickbooks and the best customer support ever.

Pros

It was so easy to set up! Plus I got a call from an on boarding specialist to help, even though I really didn't need it! Price is RIGHT too!

Cons

Haven't found anything yet, it is super simple and does exactly what I need it to do, payouts are quick as well!

Cons

Lack of integration with accounting software such as Quickbooks etc. You have to import files manually.
