Pros

It's a user friendly service with great customer care, wonderful service if u have a small business.
Fields to fill and perfectly links the data from one end like ap and AR to the bank reconciliation. Great reports on transactions for the month or period if interest.
We love that it helps us streamline efforts, is easy to use, and is easy to train others on. QuickBooks Online has definitely been one of the best technology pieces of our administration.

Pros

The ability to integrate with other Sage solutions was great. We had some other 3rd party solutions which needed to be integrated and the ISV already had integration points available.
Customer support is excellent with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Attractive screens and easy to understand.
This Pastel My Business Online is definitely the best user friendly most cost effective comprehensive online package for nearly all Small Businesses or individuals anywhere.

Cons

This is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable from the company that is supposed to have your books.
The problem is that doing your own taxes online becomes risky the more you have to account for.
Other than tracking my expenditures, the whole system is a pain. Error messages constantly received because "there's a message from your bank" bla bla bla.

Cons

Sage Customer Service is terrible, they will charge you for things you don't use or pay for and not refund you.
You can be confused sometimes because all the windows are similar.
There is also a lot of downtime which can be highly inconvenient.

I am an accounting student and. I am in my first year of uni so I haven’t used this software a lot but I have heard it is highly recommended, it’s either this or sage or East books

Cons

It was a bit complicated to understand, but you could always learn how to use it of if YouTube

Pros

Easy to use and navigate. Once you have put all your products on and the customers, doing a bill is quick and easy.

Cons

I keep getting locked out of my account, Apple say its active and up to date but Quickbooks say its a billing problem and want me to migrate my billing direct instead of sorting the problem.

Prior to switching, our old software was installed on one PC in our office. There was no remote access without some sort of remote sharing software. And backups had to be scheduled. They could be autorecurring, but unlike cloud services where your work is just there, we had to think about this a bit more. The other main benefit was the training and support we get with QBO vs other. With our old software, training was VERY expensive (for us, a small business with two users), in excess of $100 per hour and usually the training had to be purchased in bulk. With QBO, the onboarding and support / training were included. So I really don't feel like I get "nickel and dimed" as much.

Pros

One of our primary reasons for switching to QBO from Sage was the the fact that the service is cloud based and more user friendly / intuitive. With a basic understanding of accounting principles, most should be able to set, use and truly benefit from QBO.

Cons

Customer service can sometimes be a bit tricky. But ultimately, we are able to resolve questions / issues.

Pros

It's easy to use, much more intuitive than Netsuite or Sage. It's easy to search for vendors and find what you need.

Cons

Limited functionality compared to some bigger systems. Can't figure out how to post journal entries without copying a previous one. Bank feed doesn't get the account right half the time.

Excellent reporting and automation

I've been a user of Quickbooks products since 2003. It has been great. Prior to that I was struggling with Sage. I used Sage for 3 years and Sage payroll. But when I discovered Quickbooks, to me, it lived up to its name... it was quick to do the books... I've done their training, I've an advanced certified pro advisor and user and the company has treated me (I feel) as a client user extremely well over the years.

Pros

Auto invoicing, payroll module that's integrated, sending out reports automatically, great customer service and supportive software provider. Receipt capture (although not every sophisticated) still does the job.

Cons

What I'm struggling with is this new tax feature, to then be able to file year end accounts, but once I've grasped it... I think it'll be a game changer for how I do business. The process will be quicker, which'll free up my time.

Overall, it's okay for a cheaper product than some other competitors but wouldn't be my first choice accounting software.

Pros

It's generally easy to use and can be easily trained out to staff. No accounting knowledge is needed

Cons

I don't think the interface is as clean as Sage which is much easier to drill down to transactional level

Quickbooks handles our budgeting and tracking needs very efficiently, effectively, and in a time-saving manner. It's a great software!

Pros

Quickbooks is a very intuitive, user-friendly accounting software. As with any accounting software, it requires an appropriate knowledge of accounting, but with that, it's easy to navigate, search accounts, track spending and payments, etc.

Cons

Quickbooks as an accounting software requires a knoweldge of accounting. This is in no way a dislike of Quickbooks, but someone looking to learn it without basic accounting knowledge would struggle.

From downloads to organization, this has been very useful with setting our business. I couldn't imagine having to hire an accountant.

Pros

The online features avoid the hassles of non accessibility. Plus one subscription allows access to more than one admin and also the CPA.

Cons

Just like anything else, accounting software requires an accounting background, but at least it helped me navigate it.

Great but needs work on Payroll

We use QB for all of our invoicing + Payroll + accounting needs. Everything is great EXCEPT they constantly get our with-holdings wrong for state and local taxes, such as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware. Every time we call and tell them "we've called before" we still get the darn emails saying action required, we need information. They just can't get it through! I am an accountant by profession, before getting into business. I have used, implemented and supervised Quickbooks for Desktop / Quickbooks for Accountants in various companies that I worked for. I have over 15 years of Quickbooks experience. I find that Quickbooks online is not for the serious user and businesses who want to manage their finances effectively.

Pros

Easy to use for the beginner who did not have a clue about what accounting was all about. Non accounting terms This is actually "Accounting for Dummies"

Cons

Inflexible Confusing to real accounting professionals insofar as terminology is concerned Restricted features Too slow as it is cloud based

Great accounting solution for small businesses and people that do not know much about accounting.

Pros

For a small company it's a great tool to have. Everything is easy to find and adding vendors can't be easier. It definitely helps you to keep your accounting data organized, to keep track of checks paid, vendors active on your portfolio, overdue items, and contacts’ data.

Cons

Printing the checks sometimes can be a hassle depending on your printer so if you find the right configuration stick t it or you will waste a lot of checks. Also, it'd be great to be able to update or change vendors information easily. So far have not been able to change 2 vendors info because I can't find a way !!!

Shame on you Sage accounting. Small business stick with quickbooks.

Pros

It has Accounting features. It fuctions, but unfortunately the company has terrible customer service and will steal your money.

Cons

This company charged the personal credit card of a small not for profit company that had declared bankruptcy months before, because they had it on file from the previous year. Months after insolvency was declared and the employee had been laid off, she found the charge on her card. Despite many phone calls explainibg the mistake that had been made nothing has been done. Terrible company that would put a laid off, soon to be mother in this position. Shame on them.

We have better tracking of invoices, vendors, transaction changes, banking, etc. We also do not have to have a remote desktop in order to access our accounting books. We had to with Quickbooks and that took a huge part of our time.

Pros

It meets literally all of our needs. We need a software that can help us manage more, track more, and do more.

Cons

It doesn't have to do with this software, but moving from Quickbooks to Sage was quite a process. Worth it though.

Plenty of useful features for a self-employed professional, such as Billing & Invoicing, Bank Reconciliation and Expense Tracking.

Pros

I used to use Sage One because it offers all the functions I need as a self-employed professional, but the price kept creeping up (it's between 14 and 54 euros a month where I'm from), so I decided to switch to QuickBooks. It includes plenty of useful features, such as Billing & Invoicing, Bank Reconciliation and Expense Tracking, but QuickBooks offers pretty much the same with a more attractive UI and at a better price point.

Cons

I really dislike how Sage One would prompt me to subscribe to a new, more expensive plan without ever showing the price. I felt that if I ever clicked by mistake they'd start invoicing me right away, since they already had my account number. As with any accounting software, there is a certain learning curve with Sage Accounting. Even though it does simplify bookkeeping, you still need to input all your clients information by hand and create your invoices yourself.
