Pros

The ability to integrate with other Sage solutions was great. We had some other 3rd party solutions which needed to be integrated and the ISV already had integration points available.
Customer support is excellent with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Attractive screens and easy to understand.
This Pastel My Business Online is definitely the best user friendly most cost effective comprehensive online package for nearly all Small Businesses or individuals anywhere.

Pros

Overall it is very simple to use and I like the transparency to do our transactions and great a report, I really like how easy and accurate it is to track donations and the donors.
I love the ease of creating invoices. It's very easy to get paid and I love that I get notified instantly upon getting a paid invoice.
It is very user friendly. I love the webinars that are available to help you navigate your way around the software.

Cons

Sage Customer Service is terrible, they will charge you for things you don't use or pay for and not refund you.
You can be confused sometimes because all the windows are similar.
There is also a lot of downtime which can be highly inconvenient.

Cons

My records were a jumbled mess, and the tech support was awful. They’d say someone is going to call , then that person would email instead.
I dislike being unable to undo batches of reconciliations to fix errors.
Doing a bank reconciliation is more complex than the desktop version. There was a problem with the AZ withholding and they have never fixed it.

Simple to learn, gives you great data

I started a new job and I was up and running on invoicing at the end of the week, by week two I was able to post cash. It did take a little bit of time to familiarize myself the reports and with the general ledger. When I covered accounts payable it was also very intuitive. One of the most intuitive computer systems I have worked with ever.

Pros

The company I got a job with a few years ago used Sage, I was apprehensive about learning a new computer system but Sage was easy. It was intuitive if you have a little experience and accounting knowledge. It gives very great reports and gives you a lot of basic detail. I like.the fact that you can drill down to give various information.

Cons

There were a few times that I wish there was an online help to explain a few questions. There are a lot of reports and I feel like you may have to look at several reports to pull some advanced details.

Shame on you Sage accounting. Small business stick with quickbooks.

Pros

It has Accounting features. It fuctions, but unfortunately the company has terrible customer service and will steal your money.

Cons

This company charged the personal credit card of a small not for profit company that had declared bankruptcy months before, because they had it on file from the previous year. Months after insolvency was declared and the employee had been laid off, she found the charge on her card. Despite many phone calls explainibg the mistake that had been made nothing has been done. Terrible company that would put a laid off, soon to be mother in this position. Shame on them.

We have better tracking of invoices, vendors, transaction changes, banking, etc. We also do not have to have a remote desktop in order to access our accounting books. We had to with Quickbooks and that took a huge part of our time.

Pros

It meets literally all of our needs. We need a software that can help us manage more, track more, and do more.

Cons

It doesn't have to do with this software, but moving from Quickbooks to Sage was quite a process. Worth it though.

Plenty of useful features for a self-employed professional, such as Billing & Invoicing, Bank Reconciliation and Expense Tracking.

Pros

I used to use Sage One because it offers all the functions I need as a self-employed professional, but the price kept creeping up (it's between 14 and 54 euros a month where I'm from), so I decided to switch to QuickBooks. It includes plenty of useful features, such as Billing & Invoicing, Bank Reconciliation and Expense Tracking, but QuickBooks offers pretty much the same with a more attractive UI and at a better price point.

Cons

I really dislike how Sage One would prompt me to subscribe to a new, more expensive plan without ever showing the price. I felt that if I ever clicked by mistake they'd start invoicing me right away, since they already had my account number. As with any accounting software, there is a certain learning curve with Sage Accounting. Even though it does simplify bookkeeping, you still need to input all your clients information by hand and create your invoices yourself.

Pros

Sage online accounting is safe and secure to use online 24/7. It is also SARS compliant, which is an added bonus to our business

The use of Sage is not free, the benefits, however, far outway the payment that has to be made

Sadly they outsourced their online shop to another company and we needed to move our existing online shop to a new platform. The online store platform integrates easily with sage cloud accounting. Nevertheless, the customer service is shocking, shocking, shocking!

I suggested this for a client looking to upgrade from QuickBooks as their business outgrew QB. It has versatility and can be accessed by multiple users easily. Good management and flow of information between production operations and accounting.

Cons

Data reporting is not intuitive, and limits the number of windows opened. Exporting data to Excel is slow and the reports are not very user friendly.

Pros

Quick and easy to set-up and get going on. Quick to send out invoices and add new customers. Can quickly see who owes what and who we owe money to. Facility to send out statements is great - and can get statements sent out in seconds.

Cons

Recently, when we go online the site seems to be done due to server overload - starting to happen more often.

I like that this is available online as cloud software is definitely the way forward. You can also be sure that Sage will not be going anywhere!

Cons

Sage one punishes every little mistake you make. Similarly for the advanced user it is very frustrating that you cannot replace a SI or PI but rather have to void it!

EASY TO USE, YOU DONT HAVE TO BE AN ACCOUNTS WIZ TO USE IT, IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE CAN BE EASIELY FIXED. YOU BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE SET UP QUITE QUICKLY. IF YOUR NOT SURE THERE IS ALWAYS HELP AVAILABLE

SOMETIMES CAN BE SLOW USING ONLINE IF LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE USING IT. THE OTHER DAY IT WOULDNT LET ME ON FOR OVER HALF AN HOUR

Pros

The cloud version of Sage works well for our business. We all have access to the same product which is up to date at all times.

Cons

The difference in price between the packages. We currently have Sage Accounting and were looking for a multi location stock programme. This would be on Line 50 Advanced which is over £150 per month difference in the price.

I use sage for my own practice, for my husband's business and I have 34 clients where I am the invited Accountant. This system is well designed to make accounting easier.

Pros

It is easy to set up and use. Because it is an online system it can be accessed anywhere anytime.

Cons

They do have some issues with slow or degradation but have been working on this. Also billing department is not easy to contact so have had issues there

Pros

This software was extremely easy to set up and provides excellent access for multiple users. Date entry is very simple and less repetitive than other software I've used. The online chat feature is excellent for solving simple problems or getting help when you cant find what you need in the available online resources.

Cons

Two things need attention. One is the ability for a charity to set up HST receivable in a simpler manner. The other is the ability to contact someone to solve a problem. Support is managed through online chat and it is very difficult to speak to a live person. I've had an issue caused by a glitch in the system and have been unsuccessful in solving the issue for the past 9months.

Easy to use. Inexpensive. Guides are available if you don't know how to use the program. Online support is always available.

Cons

The invoice designing is very limited. Sometimes changes to records takes a few minutes longer than usual.

Cuts down on time spent on accounting. I feel confident that everything is secure and held in one place.

Pros

The link to the bank account and being able to download transactions. The support is very good and they are quick to respond to emails.

Cons

Don't understand how to use the invoices and have yet posted a journal. Not being able to search by description or amount in the report. Online chat support is very busy

Great simple and easy to use accounts software. Can incorporate PAYE, CIS payments and it has HMRC reporting built in.

Pros

This software is fairly simple to use and has lots of help available either by phone or online should you get stuck.

Cons

Software has regular updates after which you always have to log back in so don't forget your user ID and password because it can be a pain.

Great accounting product

I am using Sage almost on a daily basis. It is easy to use and not very complex to learn all the features. I use it for invoicing, employee payments and spending ledgers.

Pros

I like the fact that you can easily reconcile transactions, especially if you connect bank accounts to Sage. Also the invoicing system is very easy to use. Reports can also be generated for various data.

Cons

I think the overall security at the Login screen is lacking advanced features. I would like to see more secure option added such as 2 factors auth or similar. It is a cloud service and Sage should invest more in securing the credentials screen.

Pros

It is easy to use! I use to hate accounting but Quickbooks makes accounting easy!

Cons

It is not always the fastest. I recently have had error issues with the IP address stating that the webpage could not load, not sure if its the most recent updates but we will get through it!

Quickbooks Non-Profit has worked well for us in our church setting. We were able to adapt it for fund accounting. There is a very nice selection of reports which are easy to read, easy to modify and easy to export.

Isn't set up for fund accounting, but is adaptible.

QuickBooks Online is very helpful in tracking invoicing and forecasting revenue projections.Its ease of use and benefits of cloud computing is the game changer. It can be accessed from anywhere with secured online system. It is very easy to integrate and we have integrated our SaaSOptics with QuickBooks Online. Allows for easy integration with banks, credit card companies, and other financial management software.

Cons

QuickBooks Online session expires very often. Most of the times, it does not show the log out screen till we perform any action & proceed.
