Pros

I like that the software has a lot of modules that I needed without me having to pay per user per module. Also, I love the client portal. Easy to use for the clients and looks great on their end.

Cons

I do think that the time tracking and the workflows could be easier to use. The invoice template is a little clunky and I wish I could have better editing to the actual invoice. However, for the price I am willing to learn the workflow and probably will use zapier to integrate a time clock system.

True Feedback

Its been very rough. The company hides behind support and Customer Service. Either they have the perception that the software is so simple to administer you need no support. The pricing plans are misleading and confusing at best. I am shock at the price to add and extra user or users - which is the same annual price as the standard license cost of [SENISTIVE CONTENT]. All other software I buy...

Pros

I liked how the software claimed to streamline the process and eliminate a lot of administration and steps to deploy legacy and new clients.

Cons

The support is not there. The pricing is very confusing and misleading. I reached out to Sales and got little remedy for my concerns. My current software group (TaxAct) had no knowledge of this software and integration. Its terrible. There are a lot of kinks to be worked out. This is stressing me out and making me as an owner super frustrated. I am a premiere client of TaxAct - get the Enterprise bundle. Spend a lot of money with them, but I get great service and attention. Here I had to update to the Pro version, just to apparently get better service and support. We will see.

Your commentary doesn't address the quality of support - it sounds like you just want more of it, which as mentioned is fully unlimited in the Pro plan. Great product for tax and accounting

Great product overall. Price is a bit on the higher end after price adjustment. Service team could be better when it comes to solving issues.

Pros

Great product! Team has been keeping adding new features that are very helpful. The product is easy to implement at the firm level.

Cons

They recently increased the price to subscription. Would love to see them provide more options for users who are grandfathered in. We also have reach out to their service team regarding some issues but have not heard back.

Innovative and very responsive tool

I love the concept, I love the delivery. I am crazy about your costumer service. The best I have ever experienced. I really want this to work for me and if it is, I will be sending your ways many of my colleagues that are waiting to hear back from me about it. The cost of adding new users is also too high. I wish there was a consideration of a lower fee for secretary users or other temporary users.

Pros

I like the most the condition that you can put on opening a file with payment first. The software is very well organized and keeps things clean and reachable. it does all that I need from a document management software and has so many extras that I love and didn't even know about such as client classification, share of documents, sending requests for signatures etc.

Cons

It's not as fast to respond when I make a choice. I which they used a faster server. The Upload of clients from a previous software is not that easy. When I print a tax return from the tax software, I would love it if I could pick a default folder to drop it in. The Windows implementation is not there yet. I am using a server that hosts my tax software and that server is refusing to allow TD to download there. This might be a deal breaker in the future. I wish I could use Quickbooks as a merchant in the SW but it's only allowing for CPACharge and Stripe.

From HORRIBLE OfficeTools to TaxDome

Pros

TaxDome has an incredible client portal and consolidated multiple pieces of software into one. We used OfficeTools prior and that program is a diseaster **STAY AWAY FROM OFFICETOOLS**. Clients HATED our OfficeTools portal and it created MORE work for us when consolidated source documents. The eSig function of OfficeTools never worked correctly. Lastly, OfficeTools ended up being my worst business decision. I stupidly got into a long term contract to get better pricings and I am not abandoning the program and will be paying for it for 2 more years. Checking with my attorney because we tested one version of the client portal and then they released new version a month after we signed up and the new version is HORRIBLE.

Cons

No cons. Would be nice if the client portal was more customizable or had dashboards to upload financial information for clients.

FINALLY AN AMAZING AND WONDERFUL PRACTICE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE!!!

This is absolutely the best and most user friendly accounting practice management software that seems to me the only one using the most advanced and up to date ease-of-use features for both me and my clients that we see in other more social-media oriented programs. TaxDome operates as a professional accounting practice management software but with the beautiful interface that our favorite apps always have.

Pros

I need things that save me time and TaxDome has done this wonderfully with the feature of giving my clients a portal that they can use to upload all their tax documents . . .which means they don't email me 500 little slips over the course of two months through millions of emails and I now have all this time back in my life!!! LIFE IS SO WONDERFUL NOW!!!

Cons

Only thing that I wish TaxDome had was a "stay signed-in always" option because I'm literally logging into TaxDome multiple times each and every day to more efficiently run my practice. Maybe this is a Google Chrome thing that I don't understand . . . .essentially, perhaps it's my fault! :)

Pros

TaxDome is one of the best options for accounting firms looking for practice management. It’s scalable and reduces overhead expenses since you are able to eliminate so many other third-party apps managing clients. I highly recommend using TaxDome.

Cons

There’s not anything to dislike. If you try it, you will find value in every part of the system.

Once you understand how the software’s workflow some of the challenges can be overcome. But there are a lot of “quirks” to learn and work around.

Pros

Great visual design and layout. Can quickly see what documents received, statuses of projects. The client organizer, integrated e-sign, and workflows are great. Neat feature to lock documents to payment.

Cons

HUGE con - horrible internal communication. Needs an ability to @tag teammates to communicate internally. very difficult to add tasks on the fly to projects. While there is a client document approval feature there is no internal document approval feature. IMO the inbox+ is worthless as is. It is very cumbersome if not impossible to assign tasks respond and have internal communication with team members. While the layout is great the user interface needs a big update. Too many clicks are required to add new accounts, add tasks. Why not have a quick create from inbox+? All data to create new user / account is already there. And perhaps most oddly - clients are unable to print or download copies of invoices paid. Also limited Zapier integrations.

Excited to Implement

Support is super responsive. So far good.

Pros

Ability for clients to submit documents as well as them having access to tax files and signatures for e-file forms. I also love that multiple contact can be linked to an account. The "Z" drive option is a must so files can be easily added to a clients account. I love the multiple options for clients to use the software.

Cons

So far the downside to the software is the private, public and client docs are all separate tabs so it takes longer to click between. It has also taken me a long time to set up clients. The tutorial videos are really helpful, but I wish I would have waited for my onboarding - I had to do a few things twice for example it wasn't explained the importance of matching account names to my existing folders so I could easily upload documents in bulk. Learning curve for sure, but I think it will be awesome once all is set up. Without using the product live yet, it is hard to design pipelines and jobs for what is going to work best, yet it seems that you need to set things up properly the first time or you run into having to do more work later.

The in-app document management, file storage, and client portal features make client collaboration simple.

Cons

I'd like to be able to start a new timer from the task itself or the app header menu. Syncing stripe invoices and subscriptions with contacts based on their email address. Adding an email address to an account record.

Signed up after a few days!

I am loving it so far!!

Pros

The centralizing of all the moving parts when it comes to preparing a tax return made my choice to purchase Tax Dome after just a few days in the trial period EASY!! The importing of my previous clients and creating a working pipeline was so amazing!! Most programs have great capabilities but as a novice you may not always know all the ins and outs of the tools. I love that Tax Dome has established templates completely relatable to the tax industry!! All I had to do customized it to my practice and start using it!!

Cons

I would love to see "@" mentions or and an open chat options between myself and employees for live communication without having to leave my desk.

Amazing First Impression!

I am very pleased thus far and really looking forward to rolling out the client portal in the coming weeks!

Pros

TaxDome is the most bang-for-your-buck solution that we've tried thus far! We are a newer CPA firm about to enter our 4th tax season, and have grown from a team of 3 to a team of 12 in the last year - Implementing a more robust software was crucial to our growth. So far I like the ease of set-up the most! Implementation has been very easy so far, especially when compared to various methods we've tried in the past!

Cons

The time-tracking and invoicing is a little bare-bones for our needs.

Tax Practice Management & Client Portal

Overall experience has been great, looking forward to growing the practice by providing this ease of use resource to clients.

Pros

The client portal is the most impactful feature with using TaxDome. We were able to take our existing processes and build them out to have visual representation and assignments easily identifiable.

Cons

Document completion for client through a document function that allows for more than electronic signature. We want to integrate document completion on our forms, rather than building out organizers to capture the requested information.

Needed something more robust than a spreadsheet

It's ok. The emails are helpful, but I would like some more 1 on 1 available to me. The white glove onboarding is choppy, and I never got the email for the link like the email said.

Pros

What sold me is the integration of the client organizers. I am a 100% virtual firm. I have had an extensive PDF organizer for years that clients would have to print, fill out, and scan back into Smart Vault. I love the online organizer that they can start, stop, and do on their phone. It's all about convince for the client now. The integration of Drake straight into the file sharing is also BIG with me.

Cons

The set up time. It will take me at least 3 months to get it all set up for all my clients. I wish there were more templates or training available on HOW to set it up. I feel like a fish out of water here. Like I'm reinventing the wheel. It would be easier to have templates that I can roll with and change for tasks and such. I also signed up for white glove onboarding, and was ghosted. I emailed, no response. So I feel like I'm on my own here.

Great product!

Pros

I like the automation and that there are customizable templates. I also like that it integrates with quickbooks and stripe. There's a lot of value in it for the price. I was looking for a crm/portal all in one that will support all the services that I offer and this is it.

Cons

The only thing I do not like is that because I used someone else for my website, I cannot use a subdomain to white label my portal. I am still learning the software so that is my only con for now.

Making it easier for my firm to grow!

Pros

I like that it encompasses so many different needs. I have been happy with my prior portal, e-signature software, CRM, etc... but it's so many different programs to manage! Now that I'm growing my business and want to train my first employee life will be so much easier with everything in one place. And I'm excited about that for my clients as well. VERY excited about the secure messaging. I was always horrified in the past when clients emailed me sensitive info like a new child's SSN.

Cons

I think there needs to be an engagement letter template where you can pull certain fields of client information into the engagement letter like how much you're charging them that year... their legal name and then their preferred name for the greeting, etc. Also, there should be a way to have them put credit card info into the e-signature/engagement letter. We've always done this in the past with Rightsignature so we can then charge the clients card once they sign the Engagement Letter and have input payment info.

All in one software

The overall experience with Taxdome was good. I wouldn't say great because its always room for improvement. I like the fact that you can request new features. TaxDome is a great all in one system that can replace a lot of other software which can bring cost down.

Pros

This software solved 99% of my problems. The automation is the greatest and the best feature. It keeps my client from flooding me with millions of phone calls but the feel secure that I'm working on their project because the automatic emails goes out with every step completed through the process. It eliminate the thousand of emails that come everyday and the process of having to file all the attachments. With the client portal the clients can upload their documents via computer or app. The emails can also come directly in the software into the clients account. How great is that for a filing system. The automation is not that easy to figure out but with all the videos and the on boarding session once you get it it flows very well. The security level is great as well.

Cons

I didn't like that it was limited payment processing. I use Square and Quickbooks and to have my funds going to through another processor dosen't work for me. I didn't like the fact that your repeat client can't signup on line and you create a workflow for them. I would like more flexibility with making changes on the sign up page. I wish they had a support number where you can call and talk to a live person. I think the software is price low enough for them to add a additional fee to be able to talk to a live person. I think the should have a technical person with the on boarding session. My IT person was on the session and his question couldn't be answered.

Cons

1) Organizer function that requires clients to upload specific documents based on answers to org questions -- for instance, if the user checks 1099 income, must upload 1099.

Organization and Snapshot Excellence

I like knowing that once I've set clients up and added them to a workflow / recurring workflow, I can trust that I wont miss a deadline. I also like that emails come in and I can set up a task for that client.

Cons

I wish there was more bulk edit features, specifically in the e-mail history for a client. I would like to 'mark all as read'. Also, the client portal could be a bit more user friendly. When they have a new document or action item, it would be helpful if the "NEW" green icons were indicated better. Currently they have to go through all folders to then figure out where the "new" ones are.

Taxdome is clutch!

Taxdome has been clutch in operating my business during the pandemic. I also love that Taxdome is always improving and listening to our suggestions, it does a lot to build loyalty to their brand.

Pros

I like that it allows clients to easily communicate and exchange documents. The E signature functionality has made my life easier. I've saved loads of time and it has allowed me to keep active during the pandemic

Cons

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the pipelines and workflow management features. I wish that the email functionality was improved by allowing us to use short codes for taxpayers or spouse names etc.

Great Way To Automate Tax Prep Processes and Improve Client Experience

Overall, it's a great tool that I have already seen benefit from, and I'm looking forward to using it to save a lot of admin time for my practice. This will be my first tax season using it with my clients.

Pros

I like how easy the automation customizations are. Once you set up a good template for certain types of jobs and clients, it saves a lot of time having to do repetitive tasks. Very active community and the developers are always making improvements based on realtime feedback from users. I feel confident it will only continue to improve as a software.

Cons

It does have a learning curve figuring out how to use it to its full capacity, but once you get the logic of it, it's not too bad. I think the client portal could be simplified, there's a lot of things in different locations, like messaging app, to-do lists, contracts, documents. It could be a little more intuitive and easy for clients to navigate. Also the document storage and file folder section is a little bulky. It would be nice to be able to drag and drop files.

New Tax Dome User

I am very pleased overall with Tax Dome. I love that it has the ability to have knowledge based identity verification with the e signatures and the unlimited storage capability. It has taken a few days to transition, but I think I will be very pleased with it.

Pros

My favorite thing about Tax Dome is the price of the electronic signatures and the ability to have a client portal as only one user. Most companies require 3-5 users and e signatures cost a significant amount on top of that. It was also easy to import my client list to create the accounts and contacts to immediately have all of my clients there and ready to go.

Cons

The user interface is a lot more complicated than I'm used to in a client portal, but some of that is because of all of its capabilities. In the beginning, it is a little more difficult to figure out how to get documents and signature requests to the clients.

New happy user

TaxDome gives me the ability to see everything in one place and understand where my clients are in the process. Also, I like to give my clients the personal touch, and since I am growing, I'm gaining more clients each year and I need to keep track of them, which TaxDome will help out with!

Pros

The software was easy to get initially set up and connected to the other software that I use. It was also super easy to setup the client base. The ability to have all the contact information and able to trace everything at one spot is key, and great for my small business!

Cons

It is probably just because I am a new user, but the workflows seemed complicated to set up a bit, but I'm sure that I will get used to it as I use it more.

Slow start with great potential

Pros

I think the software has great potential, and I really appreciate the support of the customer service team. There is so many functions available within TaxDome - I think it would be a great resource to any accountancy.

Cons

Getting started has been pretty challenging, we are still working on adding in our contacts, files, and workflows before we start adding in our team. Everyone should be aware that if you have an established business this is not going to be any fun, but we can really see the value in the potential so we're pushing through!
