I really enjoy the product. I’ve had some communication with Customer Service and they’re very upbeat and positive.
I like the simplicity. I also really appreciate having all of my tools in one program. I was previously using a different program to verify signatures. This program has it all. Document management. Invoicing. It’s a great customer relationship manager tool.
I don’t have any cons. I’m still learning the pipelines. I am in a group where a lot of people use the pipelines and love them. I’m excited to learn more about them so I can start implementing them as well. There is a little bit of a learning curve due to the customization.

I wanted to employ a portal that clients find easy to use and offers, as much as possible, a one-stop shop for them. Frankly, I am spending the next year playing with Canopy, Drake, and TaxDome (call it research), to see which one makes most sense to adopt in the end.
Nice ability to customize portal access and email notifications, the Z-Drive is handy, and the portal does get regular improvements such as PDF merge and the new Firm App which show they are interested in adding improvements. For a solo shop, it's one of the best values out there. In comparison, I have used Canopy Tax and Drake portals, which is pretty good if you use Drake Tax since it is fully integrated with its own document manager, but it has no app, and I think most portals should have an app these days.
As of my trial (mid 2021), the time entry system wasn't very useful. There was no way to even export time, let alone see in-portal reports. I have also used Canopy Tax Portal, and I wish Tax Dome would employ a similar time entry system also-- allow me to punch in to any client (and job preferably) quickly with one or two clicks, including from the app. I think the Canopy app is a bit more elegant...

There are so many things about TaxDome that I love and have helped my practice. It does so much work FOR me in terms of walking clients through documents, organizers, etc. This allows me to spend more time doing things that are income producing. Having all sorts of templates are so nice too. That saves me valuable time. One of my favorite things is being able to look at my pipeline and see exactly where everyone is in the flow all in one spot! It definitely keeps me more organized and less frazzled during a hectic time.
This could be my misunderstanding, but I don't think I can accept payment through TaxDome unless I use their payment methods. My goal was to continue billing through Quickbooks and I was hoping a paid invoice in QB would sync into TD but that has not worked for me yet. This makes me unable to use a key feature of locking documents until clients paid. I was really looking forward to that.
Thank you, Lindsey, your feedback is valuable to us. At the moment the integration with Quick Books Online is just a one-way street. Changes made in TaxDome will be reflected in QBO, but not the other way around. Our suggestion would be to check out our Feature Request board where you will be able to request a change regarding this to be implemented. You will also have the ability to upvote feature requests made by other customers, and the ones with the most votes get prioritized. You can access our Feature Request board by clicking on the question mark icon in the top right corner of your portal.

Just getting started but looking forward to improved communications and data collection from Clients.
I like the customizable Organizers, Mailbox+ and the Workflow Automation options from the firm side and the Messaging with To Do lists and white labeled app/portal from the client side.
Two way sync with Quickbooks would make invoicing more useful and there are some small tweaks that would make building Pipelines easier, such as an option of "And" or "Or" in conditional tagging.

It relaxes a huge headache that I have had trying to keep everything organized and in one place.
I liked the fact that this software has just about everything I need in one. I do not need to have my clients go to multiple places to upload or view or sign documents. Everything is just here in one place. The CRM, billing, e-signatures, contracts, messaging and everything.
The only thing is the paying for the price upfront and there is no scheduler system. Also having to build the pipelines. I did use some templates but of course had to customize it for my clients.

We moved from manually creating project trackers and checklists for our tax returns process into TaxDome. The automation and ease of use that we've gotten with TaxDome this past season was a huge improvement in our internal processes and in time spent per return. We were able to leverage the tools TaxDome provides but still keep a personal touch on our communications and interaction with our clients.
Once set up, the automations and pipelines work very smoothly to keep each tax job moving through the process.Customer account team is great and knowledgeable - they respond quickly and have helped us think through some of our unique situations to find workarounds to automate as many processes as possible.Once you are used to the navigation, it is easy to move from one area to another.Collecting all signatures from clients within the portal is a HUGE time saver.
We have found that our users who are not using it daily are less comfortable and find the navigation confusing.Would like to be able to cc additional email addresses when sending emails directly from TaxDome.

We don't currently have a way to add CC when sending emails from TaxDome but as long as your team members are following the accounts, they will get a notification on their Inbox+ and they can view the email thread from there. When you go to any document, and click on the three dots on the far right you will be able to open the audit trail and see all actions that were taken. If you would like to have a status bar for documents, you can request a feature at our Feature Request Board. The board is available to all paying subscribers, and feature requests can be made, and existing ones can be upvoted. The requests with the most votes get prioritized. Love it!
So far I am absolutely LOVING the integrations in this software! We are working to be 100% remote and this is helping us move in the right direction while creating efficiencies. Previously with multiple platforms we had a lot of wasted time in saving stuff to desktop, uploading etc, being able to print right into client files is amazing, integrating client communication is fabulous and who doesn't love being able to lock down files until an invoice is paid!? I've been happy with the customer support so far and hear only great things from others who are using the software.
I think the only area that I currently see it lacking is an integration with various tax softwares to create an organizer that pulls from tax return information.

Tax Dome has been a great program so far and it has assisted my office go paperless and maintain more organized.
Tax Dome is easy to use and set up. They have great instructional videos and if you need help with set up they have the support you need. The program offers a wide variety of features that are crucial in helping a business keep organized and in contact with clients.
The only feature I would love Tax Dome to incorporate would be the ability to send, receive and store client's text messages.

This software is built for phenomenal success in tax and accounting business. Simplified yet functional, cost effective and efficient CRM, easy to understand overseeing clients, workflows, stages, managing the work and the team, and the tasks involved. Love the filters, tags, and multiple features it caters to the user. Customer Service is above par - always available and will support you in every way they can. There is so much value it brings to a company - I highly recommend it!
It's got some challenges, just like any other software, but they are quickly making progress on many counts!

Overall the experience has been great and we signed up for it annually so hopefully I can revisit this review after a full year of use.
The fact that everything in by business can be done on this platform makes our lives as entrepreneurs much easier. As they mention on the front page, why make your clients download all of the software you have in order for you to provide your service? Now, I have clients only downloading TaxDome for document upload and QBO for bookkeeping. Before they had to download different apps to upload their sensitive identification information through a separate app, communicate with us through another app and more. We don't use other apps as much either because of TaxDome (i.e. Trello, Clickup, and google drive).
There are a few page tutorials on TaxDome that appear in another language which makes learning the software that much harder, however, this occurs seldomly. Besides that, the project pipeline can be improved. The pipeline right now only allows to create a pipeline after tasks are made, rather than letting us create the tasks as we create the pipelines.

Just based on the pros and never addressing the cons, I'm saving about 2000/yr and paying about 600/yr for taxdome and 400/yr for KBA with taxdome. and I get a workflow system included
Consolidated other SAAS products into a single SAAS product. I can eliminate rightsignature (taxdome has signing capability with KBA - 1.00/signature if using KBA), cpasitesolutions (taxdome has document portal and website),
The product needs some maturation but are moving in right direction. Signature functionality needs checkbox grouping/radio box options. Needs recurring future payment functionality, but understanding that is being implemented in 3Q 2022. If that happens, it will be an alternative to Practice Ignition as it will include signature and recurring payment functionality.

Great! The training is unmatched by any competitor and the built-in ease of use for clients is exactly why we made the switch.
Ease of use, the training library and it's all in one capabilities.
There is not a lot not to like. A monthly billing option would be nice for new customers.

As for the payment plan, the first seat has always to be annual, and the team members can be added with a monthly subscription. The main reason for this is that we are providing unlimited storage to our subscribers and storing the data for them. Even if they cancel the subscription, the data will be locked waiting for them to return. For this reason, a monthly subscription would not be reasonable. As promised, TaxDome helped me combine multiple services in one, including invoice payment and document signature.
The user-friendly TaxDome Client Portal makes this so much better. It allows us to connect with our clients even if they are not here in person.
For me it was kind of tideous to start off, but TaxDome offers so much support, videos and tutorials that once you get the hang of it it becomes so natural to work with.

I've been able to streamline all our systems from client onboarding, bookkeeping, and tax returns. It was fine keeping track of these things in a spreadsheet when it was just me, but now that I have a team, TaxDome is a must. I also love that TaxDome is constantly offering new features based on customer requests. The product keeps getting better and better.
I love the automations and automatic reminders. Now that everything is set up, client onboarding is so easy. I'm also better able to communicate with my clients because of the message templates that get sent when they have their documents turned into us. I'm also able to easily see where every single client is in our pipeline line at any given time. I could go on and on. I love that organizers and engagement letter contracts are in TaxDome as well. Clients have mentioned how much they love having everything in one place.
It took me a few weeks to get our pipelines and templates set up. Would have been nice if there were pipeline templates or more examples of what others have done. But now that everything is set up, it runs very smoothly. Completely worth the time.

We truly loved this product and we'll continue to use it in the future. It's a one stop shop so we believe you can't go wrong with this product. We compared TaxDome to other products and we believe it gave us the most value for our money.
The ease of use for our clients is the most important thing for us. We want them to feel like the entire process from start to finish, is simple.
It was a little daunting for us getting started with the software because it has so many features. It took a lot of trial and error on our end but only because we started our business in the middle of tax season so we had to hit the ground running without going through the various training materials.

At this point, my experience has been good so far.
It includes everything from email intergration, billing/invoice, and contracts etc. What I like most are the workflows so you don't miss anything. This program was well thought out.
I am not sure about the customer service at this point. I wish I could talk to someone to have a few questions answered by a real person.

It had been improving, initially my white-glove onboarding didn't help me the way I should had been helped, realizing this has I learned more the system and persistently asked questions as many of the information and responses were conflicting I need to invest a lot of my time to clarify and streamline that process. It is getting better as I expressed my concerns and dissatisfaction with the approach.The platform is well thought and design with exception of the conditional features, but the communication and onboarding needs to be consistent, transparent and effective, after all TD it is target to accountants and we care about these.
Despite of being a sole practitioner I thought initially many of the functionalities won't be of use to me, although I realized the Pro version emphasizes in automation with workflows and many templates in particular intuit organizer that could save you and your client time as it streamline the communication and organization process. There are other features that are well thought, but conditionally implemented, which lead me to the Cons
I learned sadly that in TD I can't receive payments without joining the Stripe or CPACharge providers, for an ACH transaction you have to pay a percentage, even if you don't take credit cards. In top of that you can't use the feature to lock the documents to an unpaid invoice for the same reason, you need to join and pay a percentage to a 3rd party payment processor in order to activate this feature. From my view an indirectly way of forcing the user to join and pay a percentage in order to use the functionality.Clearly this defeats the platform's objective since it is marketed and designed for automation to minimize the admin work and some of these cool features are conditional, thus you can't automate these unless you comply.

Amazing, despite the cons I listed above I think it's a fantastic product, much better than what I was using before. It's also a great price.
Extremely intuitive software, I love that I have so many different types of functionality in one place rather than needing different apps. Clients love the organisers and checklists! I love the pipelines and automations.
I wish the integration with Quickbooks was two-way rather than one-way. I don't like having to mark invoices as paid twice (I don't use the credit card payment system because the fees are extremely high for UK users). I also wish there was more choice in automations – such as to move clients to a new pipeline, or to mark an invoice as paid without me having to raise an invoice. I also wish the client onboarding allowed for extra questions, rather than just one.

I like the basics of Taxdome, however, I feel there could be alot of improvement. Overall, it has the features needed to get the job done for a reasonable price. I could save alot of time, if the internal controls had more options.
I like being able to have clients upload. I also like that they can sign up without an invite
I wish there were more specific controls for where the clients documents land when they upload. I also wish I could control which clients see what organizers. I don't like that you have to make an appointment to speak to customer service. I waited a week to speak to the first person and it was limited to 15 minutes. That's not enough time to get enough info on the product I also do not like that the e-signature only allows clients to type not sign.

Intimidatingly exciting!
The software seems overwhelmingly incredible. There are so many features that increase efficiencies ten-fold and eliminate several other paid platforms.
Naturally, the platform is also overwhelmingly difficult to grasp at first. The entire team already spent two weeks understanding everything and I doubt we are anywhere close to being proficient - we are just scratching the surface. I doubt it's a true 'con' but it certainly requires some intellectual power to restrain this beast.

I love everything about the software since it's the first for me when it comes to automation and what not. I've only ever used google sheets and cognito forms so I love it! It looks professional. My clients love the look and feel. I like that I can take them away from social media and they can contact me here.
Simple things like the ability to duplicate questions or sections in the organizers to save time of the repetitive copy and paste. And it seems to be very buggy. Like bulk emails are going to spam/junk folders. The organizers don't seem to save properly and I've been working on one for a few hours and all my work is gone. The learning curve is long. I mean this software is so robust and can do so many things that taking time to learn it can be intimidating and 14 days of a free trial is not nearly enough so it kind of forces you to shell out $600 bucks with no money back guarantee.

I use Lacerte tax preparation software. Their attempt at a client portal is sub-par and not easy to use. Tax dome is reasonably priced for my small firm's needs while giving our clients a good option for sending us documents in a safe and secure manner.
The additional per user fees are pretty steep, they should be a percentage of the full monthly fee. I have some team members who would only use the software to assist me and won't be able to use taxdome because the per user fee isn't justified based on their value added.
