Visual ContrAcct overview

Visual ContrAcct is a modular job cost management and single entry accounting system from Job Cost Inc, designed to be used by construction contractors, including general contractors, specialty contractors, and subcontractors. It offers modules covering accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cash management, job costing, equipment, payroll, billing, and purchase orders.

Visual ContrAcct’s accounts receivable (AR) module enables users to manage the full AR process, including customer entry, maintenance, closing, and posting of receivables, with automation of customer number assignment, sales account number assignment, and posting of transactions to the general ledger, cash management, and job cost modules. The accounts payable (AP) module handles invoicing, discounting, check printing, and transaction posting, and generates aging reports by job, vendor, or open invoice. Original and current estimates, change orders, job phases, job-to-date, month-to-date, and year-to-date costs, and more can be tracked in the job cost module.

Visual ContrAcct’s built-in general ledger offers automatic reversing and repeating entries, departmental accounting, trial balances, chart of accounts, income statements, balance sheets, inventory inquiries and item information, job requisition summaries, product receipt editing, and more, with multiple statement options including current period, year-to-date, and comparatives to the same period in the previous year. Multi-company and multi-state payroll can also be managed, with weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly processing of hourly, salaried, and commission-based payrolls.

Benefits

Payroll checks, and union & government payroll reports can be prepared, with 7 payroll overhead types included.

Original and current estimates, change orders, actual job-to-date costs, and balance-to-complete can all be tracked to increase the accuracy of invoices.

Retainage for contracts and subcontractor contracts is automatically tracked.

With single-entry accounting, data only needs to be entered once, and is automatically posted internally between systems.

An audit trail of activity and changes is created automatically, enabling users to verify the accuracy of all data in the system.
