Easy set up. User-friendly. Cost efficient. Bill4Time enables a small company to have the organization, efficiency, and the professional look of a large company without the large cost. The cost fits in our budget.
We love the ability to have live billing numbers, the opportunity for look-back, and the ability to attach client expenses to the billing.
As of now, I'm not sure of anything that I would change.

First used Bill4Time when I left a larger firm and set up a smaller 3 attorney firm. When I left that firm for a higher education institution the software wasn't needed but when I retired from the institution and wanted to have a limited solo practice I immediately went back to Bill4Time since I was familiar with it and knew how easy it would be to use in a limited practice environment.
Simple to set up, easy to use, support. Having retired from full time practice I needed a simple to use billing software for the limited practice I have maintained from my home. This software offers everything I need at a reasonable cost.
Not really. I probably could use other features of the software but haven't taken the time to learn them.

I have been using Bill4Time for over 7 years and it is phenomenal.
The software is user friendly and clients find the billing easy to understand when sent for their review and payment.

Customer service is responsive, sort of. They will respond--but it is not always productive. I wouldn't say it's terrible. I wouldn't say it's stellar.
The best part of Bill4Time is that it is intuitive for users to enter time, and expenses. There is very little training. Bill4TIme has/supports API's, which allow client and matter data to be fetched for use in other systems, like a practice management suite. The integration with QuickBooks works well. The iphone app is well done.
The pricing is a bit steep compared to TimeSolv, which offers the same as Bill4Time and more. If my firm had things to do over again, it would probably go with TimeSolv (and if B4T's prices continue to increase, we will make a move). Another drawback is that B4T does not have single sign-on capability. I'm told they're working on it. Single-sign-on allows the program to authenticate using a firm's...

Our company counts on B4T for its time keeping and billing. If we would not have a tool like this, we would miss out on a lot of time not invoiced, or expenses not rebilled.
It's easy to use and web based. I can add users easily and set their access levels. I never had a problem so far, after working with it for 5 years. The website is never down.
Can't think of anything about the software, it works perfectly. It is not cheap, that is maybe the only thing.

Despite my overall satisfaction with Bill4Time, there is one thing that I find a little difficult. I'd say that using the platform for the first time might have a bit of a high learning curve. Very user friendly software . When I first started with the firm a co-worker showed me how to maneuver in bill4Time. Then she set me on my own. If I found myself not sure about what I was doing I would either review the tutorial or contact bill4Time's support team either by phone or live chat. The support team has always been very helpful and knowledgeable in the software. There has not been one problem that has gone unresolved with the support team. They are very diligent with getting back with you if they have to research an issue or a problem I may be having.
I would not say I like any thing least about this software. I am looking forward to the ability to be able to track consult fees. I am looking forward to a new tab that has consultations which will allow you to put the client into the system and the amount of the consult fee. This would eliminate me having to keep track of two Conflict of interest list.

Even diamonds have flaws (at least most of them). I have only two items I yearn for, which I will share in order of importance: 1. When I look at a case and below I see all the time entries, I can see the activity code but I cannot see the ABA task code unless I click on the entry. B4T is a great billing software that satisfies all of our billing needs. It's very reasonably priced and has an excellent customer service staff. I recommend it highly for anyone looking for a quality product that won't break the bank but will still provide all the support you can ask for.
B4T is completely user friendly and has a neat, simple layout with no unnecessary noise to clutter your view like so many software products. It provides all of our billings needs in a straight-forward, uncomplicated manner. Their customer service is top-notch. I haven't had a single instance where I worked with a rep who wasn't extremely courteous and immediately able fix a problem or provide guidance...

Its a billing program and is extremely effective at billing. I find no "cons" when comparing to other billing programs I've looked at. I'd love more practice management functionality--but I don't see that as the main purpose/use of this program.
The program is clean, simple, and available anywhere through the web and various applications for mobile devices. New users are easy to setup and manage. Reporting functions are easy to manage. Downtime is a non-issue. Reports are easy to run and provide the information we need to keep a pulse on our firm's billings, collections, and associated compensation models. It's been a life saver in that I can easily and conveniently produce supporting documentation as to my out of pocket expenses and time in administering this estate as well as bill for and account for my time and expenses in my Paralegal/Investigation firm which makes getting paid much easier and with no hassle because the invoices and statements are detailed, clear and easy for my clients to understand.
The software is much like the software that I had become accustomed to using at a law firm and is reasonably priced for me as a one person newly established business where the cost of the law firms software is simply not feasible. Additionally, I love the convenience of being able to create and produce a customized report for any given request for information once an entry has been created and entered. The ease of use and setup is also something I really like.
I haven't found anything thus far that I don't like about the software.

It's completely changed my practice. I no longer get distracted and find time slipping by without billing. I track my billings now and meet targets. It's the "assistant" I have been looking for.
It is exactly what I need. Most of the task management software for lawyers is designed for litigation and big firms. I needed more of a task management software that would help me keep track of matters and clients and deadlines, but not all of the bells and whistles and certainly not at the price of other companies. Bill4time is the exact software I need - it actually makes me more efficient and helps my focus - it keeps me on task and has improved my follow up with clients.
The name - I initially thought it was just a billing software but it is so much more.

Great, very easy to use
The dashboard simplifies tracking and time entry. Invoicing is simple and I like the multiple ways to reconcile payment.
The price is a little steep for a small company, but the functionality is great!

Bill4Time keeps my time and expenses and creates my invoices in an organized, simplified way at a fraction of the cost of other software. Their human customer service is a huge plus.
The one drawback of the software is that when you are running several matters for a single client, the system shows them according to the kind of work you are doing (drafting, advise, etc) instead of the matter name.

I searched for a duel timekeeping and accounting software for almost a year before I settled on Bill4Time. It is the only one I found that did both well. Avoiding the time it takes to move timekeeping records into an accounting program every month is a fantastic feature!
This software is fantastic! It's affordable and the support is the best I've ever had from any company. It is intuitive and is easy to figure out if you've made an error anywhere in your accounting.
There is a bit of a learning curve to the invoicing section but once it's set up you'll be grateful.

My experience has been only good.
I have used Bill4Time since I started my solo law practice 3 years ago. It has all the features I need for maintaining my time records, creating invoices and monitoring my accounts receivable and receipts. I set everything up on my own and have managed to easily use it with little need for support. And it is a great value!
There isn't anything that I don't like about the product.

the support was terrible - but we rarely needed it. The platform went down on occasion - but it was rare.
this software was straight forward and functional - no fancy bells and whistles but it had the basics and worked well for a remote staff and multiple offices
it was missing tasks/workflows. That was the only thing missing - overall the best software I have seen for the price - by far

I have saved a lot of money by using this software, and I would have otherwise had to spend a lot of time and money.
The software has a very reasonable price for the number of users you are allowed, and the functionality. There are multiple configurations that each client can have depending on the fee structure, and I have never had a problem with creating a billing agreement that could not be expressed in this software.
It is difficult to finalize the invoices, and occasionally, the software will have issues selecting which client to finalize an invoice for.

Program was easy to set up and learning curve is low. Very easy to navigate and customize, if needed.
I do not have any complaints, except that this field has a minimum character requirement of writing a negative review to a positive review. I would recommend having this field as optional. Otherwise, you are requiring the writer of the review to illustrate a negative experience and where there is none.

As a relatively new user, I find their entry level product is feature-rich, robust, and mostly intuitive but it does have a significant learning curve to it--which is where their strong customer support thus far has proven extremely helpful. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] has been friendly, patient and knowledgeable with strong follow up--I never feel like I'm using bandwidth I don't have to spare chasing someone for help.
Ability to split bills between clients without a "workaround" would be helpful. Getting some of the full "custom" features like invoice templates, reports, and data available at an enterprise level is pricey for small firms. It would be very nice to have an intermediate tier or á la carte options available so as not to price us out from features we could benefit from without simultaneously paying for unnecessary features we will never use.

The mobile app doesn't allow for the creation of new client files from the phone. Also, the mobile app gets signed out when offline.
