Pros

Workday does an amazing job with a great interface allowing the user to easily learn the system while not sacrificing the work being done. Easy, affordable, maintainable.
Overall experience with Workday Financial Management has been fantastic. Great capabilities that can integrate very well with other Workday modules.
I love how user friendly it is. You can find anything and everything with ease.

Pros

The best features of Slack are its innovative interface and easy to use features. Slack makes it simple, and even kind of fun, to communicate with your coworkers quickly.
I like the different slack channels for various departments, tech-support, team, individual messaging, and celebrating my teams successes or helping each other out with account challenges.
Slack has been a winner for me no matter which role I am filling. Teams adopt it quickly it's easy to use, easy to set up, and has abundant opportunities for integrations.

Cons

Hard to learn at first- errors pop up at times.
My overall experience with Workday is sometimes frustrating since I cannot get the reports I need to do my job.
Employees will accept having to use Workday to manage their taxes, etc. I'm not aware of an alternative for large companies. It will, however, be a perpetual pain point for employees.

Cons

While they are only visible to me, I am always worried that I accidentally posted something wrong.
I disliked the inability to make a public group "private" after it's creation. Would occasionally lag and my.
I hate hate hate how often I struggle with using the video share and audio when someone calls me on slack. It almost never works for me.

This is my daily work chat program. It is integral to my workday.

Pros

The ease in sharing a screen, creating group chats and setting up outside calls (ie. Zoom or Bluejeans) is definitely a pro.

Cons

The phone calls and screen sharing aren't always the most reliable to use. They are easy to invoke but the functions don't consistently work. Many times, I'll text a teammate and want to meet - calling out that we may need to just go to a Zoom meeting directly if Slack isn't working. Shouldn't have to wonder if the functions are going to work on a consistent basis.

This is a great project management software. There are lots out there and I've used several. This one has lots of great features and is very user friendly. Big plus - it reduces the number of emails I get during the regular workday.

Cons

Slack is great, as long as your team actually uses it. Sometimes people who are less tech savvy feel a bit daunted by using the software.

Slack looks pretty, and gives you the updates you need in one space. It works well when everyone is on the same page.

Pros

My experience with Slack is positive. The people that you work with want to get their voices heard quickly, and the program is the best way of doing that.

Cons

Sometimes people don't check Slack when the workday is really hectic. Emails could potentially reach the person quicker.

The be-all end-all of communication in the digital age

Overwhelmingly positive. As mentioned I cannot imagine a workday or any job without Slack.

Pros

To be honest, everything. The seemingly limitless integrations with other software make workflow automation child's play. The integration with (numerous!) fun apps and services (<3 Giphy) make communication within my team both rich, quick, and meaningful. Being able to Slack more and email less is truly a blessing. Being able to easily embed media like videos and music, easily send files (even massive ones), and communicate reliably has made work more enjoyable for me. I simply cannot imagine working without Slack.

Cons

My only qualm in all the time I've used Slack is the inability to reference older logs on the free version but completely understand the rationale behind it. I'm stoked that my company has gone full-in on Slack and utilizes its suite of products to the fullest.

Great experience, has mobile app, works flawlessly and it is very easy to stay in touch with coworkers during workday.

Pros

Super easy to use I can send files via Slack Links to videos can be watched within Slack without leaving the platform

Cons

I wish I had a list of all contacts in a drop down folder, vs adding them by using + and typing their name.

The platform has cut down the time of trying to communicate with coworkers in your company by making a direct messaging system. It will improve the efficiency of your work and your employee's productivity. It also helps unify companies that may be spread out across the globe.

Cons

The only con is that it can be distracting sometimes throughout with workday with all the notifications, but you can turn them off whenever you'd like.

My team would communicate with each other through slack for the longest time. The team loves being able to send chats to each other and use giphy's to brighten the workday.

Cons

The only reason why we stopped using them was because they aren't HIPAA compliant.

Great product! Used it in the workplace and educational settings. It's free to use for small teams, which is great for project team Slacks in a university setting, and great for workplace settings too.

Pros

It's sleek, got great keyboard shortcuts, and is free to use if you don't need an extended history, making it the ideal communication tool for low-budget teams.

Cons

It can't replace email necessarily: coming to work in the morning to 100+ new Slack messages means that something is definitely going to missed. During the workday though it's fantastic.

Better than IRC, more realtime than email. Also solid giphy support.

Pros

Very easy to use, not much of a learning curve. Very extendable with third party addons. Easy to shut off notifications.

Cons

It's a very good application but without user discipline it can lead to an unproductive workday. Best to follow best practices and only show channels you need and to turn off all notifications.

Best Workplace Messager (SLACK)

I love Slack. It helps us communicate fast, easy, and in creative ways too. In addition to regular messages, users are able to send files (words docs, ppt, excel, etc), links (chrome or internet explorer), giphys, images, etc. We are also able to create channels that group different people together within the same interest. Sending and receiving messages are very fast and sometimes fun!

Pros

The ability to communicate and connect with users from all over the country and beyond seamlessly at any time of the day seven days a week. Slack has multiple platforms you can use it on (browser, desktop app, mobile phone app, etc) so you can use it on whatever you want to communicate with.

Cons

Sometime slack goes down during the workday, however, customer support does a good job with responding to admin workspace users and gets things back up and running in no time (20 minutes tops).

The benefits I saw in Slack was the linking of multi-communication devices.

Pros

What I most liked about this Slack was that it connected all of our forms of communication we were using separately into one location.

Cons

What I like least about Slack is that it was difficult for my recruiting team to now use this for play time. It was a distraction of likes and applaud hands like social media during their workday.

I think Slack has been the most valuable contribution to my workday. I no longer have to ask a string of people what happened, because I can easily search through channels and find out for myself!

Pros

I absolutely love Slack! Having devoted channels to discuss topics with other interested parties is such a time saver from meetings and emails. AND, having those conversations searchable and available for years to come when you forget why a decision was made or are curious how a decision came to be is truly a game changer!

Cons

The only con is that once a channel is created privately it cannot be made public. This has caused some frustration when trying to include a larger group.

The very best option for companies of all sizes

My workday would not be able to be completed at the level it is without this program. It is the number one and best way to connect to team mates and share information on every level.

Pros

Slack is my most used piece of software for work. It is extremely easy to use and setup. Managing the channels, users, permissions, and settings usually only take a few clicks because of how user friendly it is set up. Along with the program itself, there are also plenty of add-ons you can plug into the program to make it work best for you and your team. It is overall very customizable from an administrator side of things all the the way down to the user level. I simply can not imagine working without Slack.

Cons

The lack of additional hosting is something that I feel is missing. It would be fantastic if I could host an email service through Slack to setup for my users to be integrated into the messaging side of the program.

Perfect instant messaging tool for the office

Pros

I love how this software doesn't feel like an office tool. It's customizable, it allows and even facilitates the use of gifs, it encourages the use of emojis, etc. Communicating with it makes the whole workday feel a bit less stressful

Cons

I feel like the features of this software could be explained more clearly from the start. There are a lot of features that you kind of need to discover on your own, but this could be seen as a fun feature depending on your experience with tech.

Great 90% of the time!

Overall, it's great!

Pros

It's easy to use and really helps boost communication within teams. I use four different workspaces and switching from one to the other is absolutely seamless, I love it!

Cons

When it doesn't work, it DOESN'T. WORK. There have been a few times where Slack's servers went down and I was unable to use the workspaces I'm in for hours at a time. It really put a damper on my workday.

Slack - great for office desktop use!

Slack is a great addition - I use it daily in my work office. It saves time since you have the availability to send a quick message rather than an email. I really like having this software as part of my workday.

Pros

I love that Slack has an easy desktop application that allows messages to come up on your computer screen. It's like instant messaging but better and makes for great use in the workplace environment - I like the menu on the side bar and how you can message individually or within groups.

Cons

I belong to 3 different slack channels and I have to log out each time I want to switch from one to another. I wish there was a groups bar on the side for different channels for better ease of going in between. I sometimes forget to check one channel because I am logged in for the other one. I also wish the /giphy feature was easier to use. A button option to choose one would be easier for the user instead of typing in the slash.

Ultimate Messaging Tool for the Workplace!

Works well for small to mid-size companies and definitely allows communication to take place instantly. Slack allows users to send photos and videos, as well as emojis (to add a bit of fun to the workday). Overall, a useful communication tool!

Pros

Slack allows users to easily communicate with other users who are on the same platform. The ability to set custom responses from the Slackbot makes it very easy to tailor your frequently used responses.

Cons

Would like to be able to add a bit more context to the profile.

Great application to keep in touch with team members

Pros

This is a great way to keep in touch with your team members when you are on the job. It helps with scheduling a meeting or asking questions during the workday. Also, the group chat is a helpful way to communicate with many members.

Cons

I wish there would be a way to video chat which would help for conference calls or something of that sort.
