We use Projects in our business which is critical to getting accurate real-time reporting, but is actually a waste of money and time. The features have not been designed with "Projects" in mind. It was as if someone at Xero decided it was a good idea to make this an add-on which users have to pay for.

Xero is a solid all-rounder for bookeeping tasks like tracking expenses, raising invoices, managing suppliers and accounts payable and also for more advanced accounting like creating manual journals, editing reports and managing your chart of accounts.

Perfect accounting software for small company

I find Xero pretty easy to use after using it daily for a couple weeks. We use it for all accounts payable and receivable, as well as invoicing customers who we ship products out to.

While it is fairly expensive, Xero's nice interface provides a good overall user experience. If they could add a few more features to improve its flexibility, they could easily earn a five star review.

Overall it has saved time, mostly thru automation of bank accounts and bank rules.  As with all software there is some frustration, but Xero are continually improving.

I have been with Xero for many years. I love the sense of community and i LOVE that I am not being asked to upgrade or upcharge the way some other companies do.

I love the app and gives me accounting on the go. Helps me track invoices and profits with ease.

There are no delivery notes/packing slips. They tout a "workaround" but be warned, it's exactly 10 extra clicks so it's really not an option if you need this feature.

The ease of use and reputation are by far the greatest part of this product. In addition to this, the range of potential integrations is fantastic.

Our main complaint is that Xero stopped doing payroll in 2018, so now you have to pay an additional fee to a payroll processor such as Gusto.

Changing accounting software from Xero is a horrible experience. They make it very difficult to pivot to other software.

Great that our external accountants and legal support can access online as they need. Seems to be continuously evolving  and its reassuring to see ongoing development of the product.

I very much like the ease of uploading expenses to Xero and the fact that you can save photos of your receipts rather than keep loads of paper receipts.
