Improved accounting efficiency and integration with CRM and project management tools.
Features, comprehensive payment options, customization of invoices, integrations, quotes system, price.
Dated looking design, bank feeds occasionally fail, slow to respond and implement feature requests from the community,

Xero provided a robust and easy to use online accounting system that I highly recommend that you give it a try.
Xero makes a really good online accounting software. It makes it easy to track your income and expenses and reconcile with your bank.
The only thing missing is a direct connection to my CRM system so I can more closely manage the activity of my clients.

Great accounting for the modern entrepreneur that is cloud based and wants insight to their company while providing the tools for their accountant to do thier job while removing the burden on the small entrepreneur form being burried in paper work :)
Yes this accounting software is really that easy to use and set up wih multiple companies. Entries, billing, full accounting management with great dashboard. Has 3rd party apps with kudos on the CRM.
Project management app not as good when comparing to some other leading providers in that space.

over all it a good product .
Xero is a powerfull accounting software. This is a very secure tool for financial things. It does provide Secure APIs to communicate with various CRM systems . it will also have Double-entry accounting.
Xero is a bit expensive and its a bit difficult to learn . Customer support is also not that good.

Overall, during the last 4 years of using Xero, we have found the software to a great time-saver with some excellent features such as bank synchronisation, and software integration with our WMS and CRM in particular.
The powerful integration features, cloud-based services and bank account synch saves masses of time and effort.
The support is somewhat limited and often hit and miss, however, once an issue has been resolved or explained, it is easy to use.

Xero demystifies the accounting process for small businesses & the availability of a web application makes it's accessibility even easier with Payroll, purchases, expenses, and CRM functions that would otherwise be complicated and hard to process just a click & button away.
Extremely easy set-up process - almost lie plug&play Excellent dashboard with easily accessible widgets Efficient reconciliation tools Project tracking and automatic updates Very supportive & available customer support Intergrates with payroll
Lack of mobile App that is comprehensive such that transactions are held on a separate mobile application. Limited inventory management support.

It's fair, not that great though.
The price to me is really reasonable when you look at the features packed in the software, the user friendly and easy navigation also makes the whole experience fantastic. The Xero team also made sure it's easily integrated into 3rd-party tools, like CRM and eCommerce.
Xero doesn't include some important features in its starter plan e.g time tracker which is important for me, it also lacks automatic recurring invoice payment.

Overall, Xero has made managing lines of business for our team easy and efficient. We have leveraged integrations with Harvest so time tracked doing consulting work can be easily invoiced in a central location and connected it to our proprietary CRM to make managing membership dues simple.
Xero is easy to set up and makes invoicing a snap. You can tag accounts and product lines so it's easy to track where revenue is coming from and it integrates with PayPal so you can easily collect payments.
I wish we could offer more than one payment solution since some of our vendors prefer to not use PayPal. I would also love it if I could send out automatic reminders when an invoice is past due.

Easy to integrate! I use Infusionsoft for CRM and HelloSign for contracts. I enter the key fields in Infusionsoft which triggers an invoice in XERO (accounting) to be automatically sent and a contract from HelloSign to be filled in and sent. Within minutes I have a signed contract, received funds and everything is reconciled in Xero.
This software is so easy to use and the User Interface is attractive and intuitive. The mobile application makes spending, invoicing, billing and reconciling a breeze!
I really like this software, but it is a little hard to reconcile when you split up line items.

Xero is best fitted for progressive technology driven small businesses that want to control the design of their accounting systems and integrate them with other small business functions (inventory, CRM, HR). Xero has excellent customer service when migrating or setting up a new company. They worked with the bank and my small business clients to ensure bank feeds were setup properly. Xero's add-on partners support the Xero product with features that may be lacking.
Xero does not offer payroll for all U.S. states and the financial reporting capabilities leave a bit to be desired. A quick search of the add-on partners may provide some small businesses with additional reporting capabilities. I'm still waiting on U.S. tax software integration also for income tax preparation.

I love the friendly and helpful quick links at times I'm looking for the codes and meaning of financial terms. Data entry is easy because format on account information is organize.
As an aspiring bookkeeping assistant I would commend on how they develop web interface and quick links given to new users. If I have to know terminology of finance, business and abbreviated terms. They have it on their SharePoint and website.
I the course they give on new users are fast pace to much of example and it doesn't apply to all user. I think if they gave an example activity much better to use one type of business . Because activity are mix of everything. First activity transaction of metal company, next crm and so on. Unlike QuickBooks they focus 1 scenario lawn care service. Activity given base on lawn care scenario. It’s confusing for me when i have to switch 1 company to another.

a user-friendly interface that makes it simple for accountants and business owners to manage and keep on top of their money. The platform also interfaces with numerous third-party programs and services, such as CRM programs, payroll services, and payment gateways.Xero provides a variety of add-ons and services in addition to its basic accounting software, including as payroll processing, project management, and inventory management. The business has operations in more than 180 nations and provides services to over two million consumers globally.
It's a bit expensive for us and quite a limited customization

Very good software, just a little expensive, especially if you work with different currencies and have to buy the more expensive version.
Xero is great for CRM and account mannaging. It has many pros. - all the information is cloud based. - the quality of the apps that one can integrate with it is great and they're many. - creating and sending an invoice from the software with the possibility of paying with PayPal for example makes being paid a lot easier. - xero TV is a great tool to finding answers and discovering features that xero offers. Those are my favorites, but is really complete and complex and is perfect for book keeping from anywhere.
Xero is a great software. There's not many cons to it. I would say that it can take a wild to learn how to use all the features and witch features you really need for your type of business.

Prior to Xero I was using a PC-based app. It lacked any connectivity and all data had to be manually imported and exported. I needed to automate as much of my day-to-day business operations as possible, and Xero was a big part of that. It integrates with my CRM and time-tracking app, and takes in my online payment processing. Reconciliation takes a minute or two every couple of days. It has enabled me to reduce my after-hours office time significantly.
Xero is a new-generation online accounting app built from the ground up for online usage. The interface is mostly intuitive and easy to navigate. The underlying framework is true double-entry accounting with all the power that provides, but you don't have to go there to get daily work done, as a rule. There is a vast array of integrations available to add leverage to your company dataflow. Support is good and rarely needed. The app is very well documented and supplies detailed help articles for most operations.
The pricing is not bad but I feel it is a little high for a one-person business. They offer a time-tracking add-on but it is an additional 50% of the app cost per month, and this is a feature many competitors throw in for free. Like all web-based apps, your enjoyment in using it will depend in part on the quality of your internet connection.

Xero is the true Quickbooks alternative offering you a full accounting solution. It is one of the only affordable solutions that allows you to have full control over billing and accounting and keep organized down to the penny. The other thing that makes Xero amazing is the amount of integrations it has. It links with CRM, check tools, and email marketing software, which is very helpful in streamlining the business. Xero also comes with a great mobile app so you can also do your accounting on the go.
Full accounting control Balance sheets, bank reconciliation, transaction matching and different accounts Billing and invoicing in one place Completely mobile Separate business and personal expenses One of few accounting tools that has exceptionally good inventory management that syncs with billing Ton of integrations Robust set of features for those who want true accounting Easy to pass along to an accountant because it follows true accounting standards
Xero is very robust, so if you don't need full accounting, this may be too much for you Not enough payment option integrations No portal customization for customers Dashboard is busy A lot of settings for those who don't wish to do much Not good for those who don't understand all of the accounting features and how accounting works

Xero's automatic bank feeds and reconciliation are just excellent. A huge time saver. Being able to reconcile invoices against payment amounts in is a big win on the sales side. The payroll function is pretty easy to setup and use. Good value for money (despite the con below about multiple jurisdictions). Very easy to invoice, setup templates and create other cards. Plays very nicely to link to our accountant - super easy at tax time.
Having international books across multiple companies is officially a nightmare. Not being able to link these different sets of books properly and having to pay for multiple instances of Xero is a bit rich. Not being able to have even a little bit of CRM with leads etc. and cost accounting against leads is irritating. I suppose you can use the Xero store to integrate something else like Salesforce if you want. This could be improved. Also the customer support is woeful, I resort to Googling. BUT, these Cons DO NOT outweight the pros. Still wouldn't use anything else.

Xero integrates nicely with many CRMs (that's up to the CRM), but it really shines in basic double-entry accounting, allowing you to match transactions like Quickbooks does but with a more streamlined interface. There are two huge problems (at least for me) that I've suggested they address: 1) the email that gets sent as a cover when you send an invoice to a customer is awful. Just black text...

We have been using Xero for our wholesale business and our training academy at the same time and it was no problem to fit the two business fields in the software and keep track of everything. We used the integrations to Tradegecko and Arlo and it worked excellent. For large businesses you might want to have an all in one solution for inventory management, CRM etc but for small to medium enterprises it feels perfect. We have had a bit of trouble importing bank data once but Xero sorted everything out without problems. We actually wish Xero would also be available in Germany so that we can use it for our branch there!
The best about Xero is that it just works. It is well established so that there are no major bugs, it has all functions you need (reporting, different accounts, cost centres), all templates can be customised, the account balance can be imported directly from the bank and there are many integrations for other tools available.
Xero sometimes does major updates (which is good) but then everything suddenly looks different and it takes a while to get used to it again and find all functions.

We moved from Sage line 50 to Xero, this has mainly been a positive experience. From our day-to-day usage, sending invoices, chasing debt, bank reconciliation it is very easy to use. Our accountant set up Dext to import receipts and expenses which means we spend much less time with data entry now and we are much more paperless than we were. The key driver for us was to work in a cloud based system...
Ease of use from a day-to-day perspective for a non accountant and integration with other cloud software such as Dext and Flowlens
We have had a couple of glitches where bank feeds have stopped working for periods of time, manual import of bank statements can take a few attempts to get right.
