I like ease to carry out accounting and bookkeeping activities with Xero. Billing and invoicing is another aspect of Xero that I like. It is simple to track and manage cash flows. It is a convenient tool for bank reconciliation. It enables ease to track and manage expenses.
I haven't found anything complicated with Xero as it simplify accounting process.

The transition from our old accounting software to Xero was very straight forward. This was down to the great GUI provided by Xero.
The appearance of XERO makes the whole experience faultless. New users are able to quickly adapt to it and know what to do. It's incredibly intuitive. It is a fresh layout and, dare I say, fun to use.
The support, when required, isn't as great as we used to receive from Sage. I have no major grumbles about them, but they don't come across with the same level of customer service.

As I mentioned before, my main focus is architecture and I had the opportunity to help the accounting area in the construction company where I am an intern, and Xero was an indispensable tool for everyone in that area. Well from what I realized, this tool greatly simplified our accounting tasks, from issuing invoices to bank reconciliation, since it was quite efficient and had the ability to access financial information in real time and collaborate with the team accountant efficiently then you work more productively and effectively. Although it is not my specialty, using Xero as an architecture student gave me valuable experience in the accounting field and improved my overall understanding of business finance.
Throughout my internship, many challenges have been proposed to me in the company where I work, it is a kind of challenge-based learning, so for a while I had to be an assistant in the accounting and finance department, then I realized that they work with Xero and the main positive points that I got from this system are the following: firstly, this system has accounting tools in the cloud, which significantly simplified our financial tasks in the company, another one that I found interesting is its automatic reconciliation functionality , as it saved us a considerable amount of time and effort, and last but not least was its ability to collaborate in real time to work efficiently with our accounting team and external advisors.
Although I was not the main person in charge of managing this system, my more expert colleagues told me that what bothers them the most about this system is its lack of customization in certain financial reports, since at the beginning this made it difficult for them to adapt to the reports of our company-specific needs, and on the other hand, I was told that we sometimes experience synchronization problems with our bank accounts, which created a problem and required additional attention to resolve discrepancies.

Having used other accounting software I could vote for Xero to be my favourite one. It has many functions that other tools don't and it is made to expedite and simplify a bookkeeper/accountant job.
Very user-friendly and efficient. I like the automated features that speed up the process and that data can be imported and exported with ease in different formats. There are a lot of customizable fields that are useful for different types of reports.
I don't like that it is only available in English. This should be customized to fit the accounting requirements in more countries. Sometimes the updates of Xero make it worse than it was. I had been on a leave for a year and must say that the updated version is not very much to my liking. It looks worse and less organized. The list of documents under a customer is worse, the search function does not always work.

Prior to Xero I was using a PC-based app. It lacked any connectivity and all data had to be manually imported and exported. I needed to automate as much of my day-to-day business operations as possible, and Xero was a big part of that. It integrates with my CRM and time-tracking app, and takes in my online payment processing. Reconciliation takes a minute or two every couple of days. It has enabled me to reduce my after-hours office time significantly.
Xero is a new-generation online accounting app built from the ground up for online usage. The interface is mostly intuitive and easy to navigate. The underlying framework is true double-entry accounting with all the power that provides, but you don't have to go there to get daily work done, as a rule. There is a vast array of integrations available to add leverage to your company dataflow. Support is good and rarely needed. The app is very well documented and supplies detailed help articles for most operations.
The pricing is not bad but I feel it is a little high for a one-person business. They offer a time-tracking add-on but it is an additional 50% of the app cost per month, and this is a feature many competitors throw in for free. Like all web-based apps, your enjoyment in using it will depend in part on the quality of your internet connection.

It aids in keeping track of expenditures to prevent overspending and in identifying unpaid invoices. By automating routine accounting processes like billing and invoicing, Xero has made my bookkeeping far more efficient and streamlined.
We really like that it can work together with other apps to improve business insight. There are many reports that provide all the information you may ever need. simple to keep tabs on the company's financials in preparation for tax filing.
Wish the linked bank accounts will stay connected and hope that more free integrated apps become available for use with Xero.

My first experience with accounting software was with Xero. Customers genuinely love using it. We even used to offer services through it primarily. Our work benefitted immensely from it. It is incredibly cost-effective and user-friendly.
In comparison to other providers, it offers relatively affordable monthly packages. It has a great link with banks. The AI is quite strong. Comparatively speaking, the UI is incredibly user-friendly.
The customization and invoicing are the only negative aspects. Sometimes there is a partial sync off of the data. Other than a few minor issues, it is perfect for small enterprises

General use of the software is good. The company and technical support made me consider going back to Quickbooks online. Instead I switched to Freshbooks. Great technical support. They answer within 4 rings. Very knowledgeable and patient. 10 out of 10 for support.
I previously used quickbooks pro, but found their product too expensive and the support was also not very good. I switched to Xero, because of the price and the quality of the software
Support is only via email. They initially respond within the promised time frame, but 9/10 times the answer is not relevant to the question asked. It's like they don't read the question, or the initial techs are inexperienced. So after wait on average 4 hours for a response, you have to wait long for a reply to any subsequent answer, which is 9/10 times not relevant to the question. So, in my experience...

We use Xero to run a service-based marketing agency and most of my time using it is spent invoicing and checking P&L reports. Does both of those things very well.
Really easy to set up and use with some smart features to make things quicker to repeat
Since onboarding Xero just over a year ago, there have been a lot of changes in the interface. I'm sure they are positive changes but it has made getting used to things slower as they seem to be constantly changing

Accounting and bookkeeping are my business, so being able to demo such an aesthetically pleasant app that integrates so well is a real boon. Clients take immediately to the UI and we've genuinely had a 90% on-board rate with Xero. We've tried other Apps, but we won't be working with any other software. There's really there's nothing out there we'd rather recommend. I have found their CS to be first rate, (despite my Account Manager statement), and this end of any accounting SAAS is absolutely vital. Xero has set the standard for over a decade and it's a testimony to their Devs that they're growing steadily despite their giant competition.

I'm a very loyal user and my company has grown up shoulder-to-shoulder with Xero's growth. There's very few wrinkles from an accountant's POV. I find startup clients sometimes get confused with the "Easy-to-Use-And-Setup" spiel - it certainly is for a bookkeeper familiar with the app! In general, the dashboard apps in this industry can belie their many-layered nature.

The very slick interface make it very user-friendly for small businesses like us and this stands out from the traditional book-keeping softwares that are loaded with a cluster of information. The use of various visual tools like charts, graphs, etc. make analysing information very intuitive and hassle-free. Another plus is the freedom of choice for various add-on tools that are readily available for easy inrtegration.
The endless availability of features come with its own issues. They are all add-ons and cost extra to buy and integrate. This makes Xero relatively expensive compared to its competitors. Despite the easy-to-use user interface, it is still time-consuming to fully master the platform.

Didn't have one really. I was looking forward to it.
I didn't get to really use this program. The trial company was as far as I got.
They say that they can convert your old Quickbooks file to xero but after starting the process they turn around and say they couldn't do it. Then I had to look at another convert firm to do it. Very expensive.

My overall experience has been a game changer, the support from the customer service team has been wonderful and I have been able to use help documents to help me ensure I understand the product fully. I like the employee portal, and my employees have given positive feedback about the product too.
I love the easy user interface. I like being able to see expenses, incomings and outgoings. Entering employees details in is simple, with little help notes along the way. I find the support team excellent, I have called and been able to use support from my accountant who can also link with my XERO system. My employees have their own logins and portal that they can submit leave requests.
I do not think there is anything I dislike about the product now, for 1 year I have been using it and I have not found any dislikes yet.

Really great to date. No major dramas or I would have changed by now.
As my business started to grow, I needed an accounting package that would be simple to use and help me to generate reports easily for the ATO, payroll, etc. Numbers are not my 'thing' so I relied on my accountant to suggest a package which ended up being Xero. I really have not had any trouble working out everything I need to do. Coding expenses is easy, generating BAS and Super reports is also simple. Anytime I have a problem, I contact my accountant who just walks me through the process. Fantastic.
The only thing I've found difficult is trying to do payroll via the app while travelling. I don't believe it is set up for this but I could be wrong (ie must have access to the full program to process pays). I know there is a lot more functionality available as well, but I haven't had time to play around with it all and I think it can be a little overwhelming if accounting doesn't come easily. In saying that, the software is very user friendly.

Xero finds its use within our organization majorly during projects where we use it to budget and control all the projects finances. The most benefit we are reaping from it is ensuring that we keep all projects financial records and also ensuring we do not overspend what is not within the budget.
Xero gives us a all-in-one product for taking care of our finances management needs. We love using it since it eliminates the need to have multiple products for managing our finances since we can do it all from one product. It helps us to budget for our projects and track the expenses of the projects to ensure we do not go over the set budget. Creating and sharing payment invoices for our clients is easy and fast.
I can't seem to find any aspect of Xero where i feel it does not offer the best. Xero has been outstanding in everything it does.

From using Excel as my go to software for all accounting needs, Xero has surpassed any expectation I thought I had. Would recommend Xero to everybody!

Over all though I love xero - it's made my accounting much faster and because my accountant has access too , any challenges or questions on my product or project codes can be quickly resolved by sending her a note from within the system.
I love that xero does everything for both my businesses on the same dashboard - I can just toggle between the 2. The invoices look great and are well recieved by my corporate clients making me look professional and bigger than I am. The VAT is calculated for the quarter at the click of a button and I can even post directly to HMRC from within xero. Most of all though it tells me that I've done a good job each time I get my reconcilations done - which always makes me smile.
Sometimes there can be challenges with the bank feeds - when they're running at their best it's wonderful the accounts are updates in real time but sometimes they get a bit cranky and take ages to upload - I don't think it's all xeros fault - I think sometimes it's the software that does the connecting but either way, it's the only thing that sometimes causes me grief.

Xero pioneered the cloud accounting toolset and makes it very easy for the smallest of one-person micro businesses to maintain good, clean accounts. It also makes receipt management and reconciling expenses and revenue so simple that you can be your own bookkeeper. It's also powerful enough to run large multimillion dollar business, so it scales very well.
The inventory management tool is quite basic, suitable for a small business, but we needed to go deeper with our inventory/warehouse management so have integrated Xero with a 3rd party tool from Cin7.

I love it. I moved to Xero after reading the reviews and it was the best choice i made.
I love the ease and how everything is in one place. I do not need to get a variety of software to handle accounts. Everything i need is here.
Sometimes error messages appear and the customer support is slow to respond.

Generally good, but at this price point and with the Client base we have, there are more accessible easier to learn options available at much more competitive prices.
Very full function set with excellent reporting. Does everything well Customer support is quick and they do try to fix things.
Some glaring failures in coding. Over the last 5 years have found large holes in areas one would not expect. The back-up files we discovered were wholly inadequate and useless to reconstruct anything from. (Now rectified) The VAT reporting for MTD has been laughable, with poorly thought out process leading to the possibility of corrupt data. Fixes have been put in place, but the users should not be used for real time software testing. More thoroughness and care needed

Overall we are very pleased with Xero and the application. We probably don't use it to its full potential
Xero is very user friendly and we found it easy to implement the application into our business. The help sections are really useful too. Auto bank connection is good.
We had some issues with the bank feed in the early stages of implementation but this may have been more to do with the bank rather than Xero. It soon sorted itself out

I have been a Xero certified advisor for 8 years and actually returned the accounting profession because of Xero after deciding to leave because I felt the industry didn't understand delivering value to clients. Xero has been a catalyst for increasing the speed of change in the industry towards a value proposition model. Although like any system success with does come down to using it properly and being prepared to spend the time to understand how it works and to make the most of it, but Xero has been built so intuitively and they have
Great design, intuitive, great support files and videos, invoicing features are very good, being able to add files to transactions is a big time saver, the fact that it is a full accounting system is great in its price range, although for more complex features you may need an add-on application for example full stock management and stock control.
The way the contacts database has been developed could be improved to make importing and exporting data easier, that has improved recently with the addition of client codes field. Also greater flexibility of controlling features a user can access would be great.

Excellent and couldn't recommend more for start ups.
The simplicity of the entire Xero offering cannot be beat. The user interface is just so intuitive and helpful we really enjoy it. Payroll and bank reconciliations are a breeze.
The major drawback is limited inventory functionality as well as the inability to split POs once goods are received. Xero is great for digital companies but manufacturers or goods based companies will need bolt on solutions.
