Pros

I also like that I can attach receipts to my expenses. I'm very thankful for Zoho Books and hope they continue to meet the needs of sole proprietors like me.
To conclude, Zoho Books is easy to understand and its configuration is quick and easy. The automation of the system is great and you save a lot of time.
That said, the Zoho family of products are solid, so if you have need for an accounting product and you are familiar with accounting software, this product would be a great choice.

Pros

Overall it is very simple to use and I like the transparency to do our transactions and great a report, I really like how easy and accurate it is to track donations and the donors.
I love the ease of creating invoices. It's very easy to get paid and I love that I get notified instantly upon getting a paid invoice.
It is very user friendly. I love the webinars that are available to help you navigate your way around the software.

Cons

The payment plans are a little frustrating. The limits are on the number of contacts and as a business with lots of contacts and only one transaction often per contact it gets really expensive.
Bad automatic matching, paypal multi-currency feed all over the place.
The another problem of this software is that this software is very difficult for the new users and it is not so easy to learn how to handle our accounts and invoices.

Cons

My records were a jumbled mess, and the tech support was awful. They’d say someone is going to call , then that person would email instead.
I dislike being unable to undo batches of reconciliations to fix errors.
Doing a bank reconciliation is more complex than the desktop version. There was a problem with the AZ withholding and they have never fixed it.

Honestly it is a little too much for my simple one person business. My accountant works with Quickbooks so I just use that online.

Zoho Books is pretty good but lacks in some major areas

Pros

The best part about this software is the price and the fact that it natively integrates with all other Zoho products including Zoho CRM and Zoho Inventory. This means that the customer, inventory, and pricing modules of Zoho Books are awesome and WAY more capable than quickbooks online.

Cons

Just to preface, I am a quickbooks online user. I don't feel that Zoho Books is as easy to use as quickbooks in a few major areas: 1. Reconciliation is much easier in quickbooks and I prefer quickbooks bank feeds as well. 2. Quickbooks has a MUCH better mobile app 3. Quickbooks has more third party apps and better interfaces with many third party apps. For these reasons, we actually use Zoho Inventory and CRM with quickbooks and not Zoho Books. Zoho continues to improve the product so one day maybe we will be able to switch but I don't feel that it meets all of our needs at this point.

My overall experience with ZOHO Books has been awesome! My business has saved money and now has an accounting platform that is much more suited to our needs and offers more features than our previous platform.

Pros

As an attorney, I love that ZOHO Books can properly and easily manage trust accounting transactions. Very few other accounting platforms can do this. QuickBooks Online requires a "workaround" method to do it, and even that method is not as good as that found in ZOHO Books.

Cons

It's hard to find a particular thing that I don't like about ZOHO Books. But, I suppose that receipt capturing could be made somewhat easier to do.

Cons

1. Compared to desktop based and other software price is high. There are many excellent desktop based softwares available at comparatively very lower rates. 2. In cloud based software despite enough security there is always risk of data privacy and data security. 3. QuickBooks online has some extra features specially for accountants which is missing in ZOHO Books.

Its inexpensive

Pros

Its cheap, but the functionality is not complete and it is cumbersome to use. It is accessible from anywhere, but you need to use multiple products to do anything Zoho makes it very difficult.

Cons

There is not Quickbooks compatibility and the CRM system and Books do are not integrated in any meaningful way.

Pros

Books has most of the features we need and pretty easy to use. It's very budget friendly. The plus is the integration with other Zoho apps.

Cons

Books previously offered an import service when migrating from Quickbooks. That is no longer the case. It was a nightmare migrating a client from Quickbooks (I will never do that again). The number of auto receipt scans in the packages can be improved as well as customer service.

There are a few little issues that I feel need fixed, especially to work with the CRM. Parent/child relationship is not supported for accounts, but it is in CRM so that doesn't work well. Some of the integration options are a bit wonky. It really needs a way to automatically generate finance charges for monthly statements, as well as batch monthly statements on past due clients. This is a feature many online books softwares are missing.

Cons

Having any monthly payments is a con I guess. But its not totally unexpected, I understand the process for that. No real cons.

It's been great, actually and I would do anything not to EVER work with QuickBooks (or their customer service) again.

Pros

The cost is great and, for the features, it's really all I needed to do invoicing, keep track of expenses, and also access a quick Dashboard feature that gives me an idea about monetary performance.

Cons

I ran out of "vendors" with the simple version. I'm not sure why this is a limitation, but I simply streamlined how I was using the Vendor feature and used the Notes field for the actual vendor name. I didn't think the additional money was worth adding vendor names.

Has the potential, but not the backup

Absolutely terrible. If not for the terrible support, this product would actually be quite good. But for anyone who is new to any system, there's always questions and help needed. That's the nature of IT. And unfortunately Zoho have completely missed the mark and don't appear to care about improving on that at all.

Pros

The software is extensive and seems easy enough to use. Supports advanced accounting functionality and would be a good solution for any small business.

Cons

The customer service is absolutely appalling. In fact, it's not even fair to call it customer service because it's more like communicating with the abyss. No matter how many times you call or email, no one follows up - and if they do it's certainly not in a timely manner. They call you at ridiculous times and then email to say they called and to call them back. You call them back and no one is available. You leave a message for the agent to call you back and no one does.

Incredibly good value for the price (way cheaper than Freshbooks/Quickbooks) Integrates well with the rest of the Zoho suite Close to everything you'd want from a cloud bookkeeping software

Cons

No payroll (which is a game breaker for some, we're small enough that it doesn't really matter) Missing little nice features from Quickbooks like true reporting tags Freelance bookkeepers don't usually have experience with it

Pros

If you use Zoho CRM, Inventory, etc then Zoho Books is a no brainer. We've been using it in conjunction with Zoho CRM and Zoho Inventory and it makes processing customer invoices off of sales order instantaneous. Additionally, the reports within Zoho Books are great at providing both fast and indepth data.

Cons

It's a little feature lite when compared to something like Quickbooks. However, as long as you know your requirements and Zoho Books will work, then it's by far the best.

We use quick books everyday all day for invoicing and payroll! Invoicing has been 100 times easier with quick books.

Pros

I truly like the payroll part of quick books. very easy to understand and easy to work wiht

Cons

The ONLY part i do not like is the employee time sheets, BUT its because we do our times different and its a little hard to understand. I truly haven't had a chance to work with it lately im sure it would be good.

Response times were 6 business days just to have them do what they committed to doing on a call, something as simple as they must go in the system and send a message before you can send them the file they requested on a call. Two calls, 4 chats (incl two escalations), and zero responsiveness

Pros

One stop for books, timesheets, payroll, payment processing.

Cons

Software is fine; live bookkeeping is atrocious.
