Zoho Books is pretty good but lacks in some major areas

2018-06-15

Pros

This means that the customer, inventory, and pricing modules of Zoho Books are awesome and WAY more capable than quickbooks online.

Just to preface, I am a quickbooks online user.

Great for start-up small business

2018-12-05

I used this when I started my business and it worked great, As my business grew and I hired people I needed payroll services and graduated away from the platform.

Pros

Zoho books offers close to the same features as Quickbooks at a fraction of the cost

Cons

Unfortunately Zoho books does not offer a payroll function

Using Zoho has been difficult at best. At its worst it is impossible.

2017-05-31

Its inexpensive

Pros

Its cheap, but the functionality is not complete and it is cumbersome to use. It is accessible from anywhere, but you need to use multiple products to do anything Zoho makes it very difficult.

Cons

There is not Quickbooks compatibility and the CRM system and Books do are not integrated in any meaningful way.

Good accounting application

2018-03-28

Pros

Books has most of the features we need and pretty easy to use. It's very budget friendly. The plus is the integration with other Zoho apps.

Cons

Books previously offered an import service when migrating from Quickbooks. That is no longer the case.

Wahoo for Zoho!!!

2018-06-11

Pros

If you're looking for a quickbooks type app, this could be the one!

Cons

Having any monthly payments is a con I guess. But its not totally unexpected, I understand the process for that. No real cons.

Excellent books software with CRM integration

2019-02-20

Pros

I find the workflow far more intuitive than Quickbooks ever was.

Cons

There are a few little issues that I feel need fixed, especially to work with the CRM. Parent/child relationship is not supported for accounts, but it is in CRM so that doesn't work well. Some of the integration options are a bit wonky. It really needs a way to automatically generate finance charges for monthly statements, as well as batch monthly statements on past due clients. This is a feature many online books softwares are missing.

Great for Consulting Work - SIngle Employee

2018-11-27

It's been great, actually and I would do anything not to EVER work with QuickBooks (or their customer service) again.

Pros

The cost is great and, for the features, it's really all I needed to do invoicing, keep track of expenses, and also access a quick Dashboard feature that gives me an idea about monetary performance.

Cons

I ran out of "vendors" with the simple version. I'm not sure why this is a limitation, but I simply streamlined how I was using the Vendor feature and used the Notes field for the actual vendor name. I didn't think the additional money was worth adding vendor names.

Zoho Books is Superb

2018-07-10

Pros

If you use Zoho CRM, Inventory, etc then Zoho Books is a no brainer. We've been using it in conjunction with Zoho CRM and Zoho Inventory and it makes processing customer invoices off of sales order instantaneous. Additionally, the reports within Zoho Books are great at providing both fast and indepth data.

Cons

It's a little feature lite when compared to something like Quickbooks. However, as long as you know your requirements and Zoho Books will work, then it's by far the best.

I use zoho books to generate invoices and track expenses. And after using it my life had became easy

2017-10-13

Overall it is good for small budget and can be used in firms with less capital to invest. It has made my work alot easier and now I complete my work on time.

Pros

It is very customizable and can be synced with Zoho CRM. It is very convient to see payments made by customers and it is very easy to create invoices according to that in Zoho books itself. They also have mobile application for working while laptop is not accessible. It is cloud based so data is safe and secure.

Cons

Initially the charges are low compared to other products present but from next year they increase their fees and also it has less features in comparison to some other products like quickbook.

ZOHO Books integrates with ZOHO CRM

2019-03-05

The experience has been great. Customer service is there to answer any questions.

Pros

I am a long time ZOHO user and I like the fact that all their products are integrated. You don't have to license everything you need at once. You can build it over time. I also like that you can add on other software through third parties to ZOHO Books.

Cons

I wish that ZOHO Books would also enable paying of payroll tax - like QuickBooks. Perhaps this is something they are working on.

Easy to use accounting software!

2018-05-02

Pros

Zoho Books is easy to use for small business, yet doesn't have the big price tag of QuickBooks. Their mobile app is clear, easy to use as well.

Cons

It doesn't run payroll, that's a huge downside. It's great for smaller small business, as your company grows, it's not quite enough.

Overall Zoho Books is easy to use and works very well for a small to medium business.

2018-03-12

Pros

It integrates easily with other Zoho products, QuickBooks and Google if you need it to.

Cons

While it is very easy to integrate with other zoho products like Zoho Expense it can sometimes be hard to understand how that integration is meant to work. Some best practice documentation like using Zoho Books and Zoho Expense would be great. For instance it took me a while to figure out that I needed to make sure I had chart of account line items in both. I assumed they would sync but they didn't. I had to go to expense and create the same custom line item I did in books. Not a big deal but it would have been helpful to know that I needed to do that. Customer Support can be very inconsistent. I've had very good experience with the chat support resolving my problems immediately. However, the ticket system and email can some times take days to respond. In particular, you don't have access to your support ticket so you don't know that it has been received or looked at, nor can you update it with any additional information.

Not Quickbooks, but if you use Zoho, it works.

2017-11-07

Zoho support is generally really helpful and has mostly been able to help me figure things out, although there are still some limitations.

Pros

It integrates with many Zoho products to make seamless connections through business processes, and generally does the job of bookkeeping.

Cons

There are some limitations in customization you don't see in other options like Quickbooks, and a lot of times the workarounds are complicated and unintuitive.

ZOHO Books is a Feature-Packaged, Affordable Alternative to Quickbooks

2019-02-18

My overall experience with ZOHO Books has been awesome! My business has saved money and now has an accounting platform that is much more suited to our needs and offers more features than our previous platform.

Pros

Very few other accounting platforms can do this. QuickBooks Online requires a "workaround" method to do it, and even that method is not as good as that found in ZOHO Books.

Cons

It's hard to find a particular thing that I don't like about ZOHO Books. But, I suppose that receipt capturing could be made somewhat easier to do.
