Pros

The integration is good and it has at least 90% of the features any small to medium business would want. It has a generous free tier so you can invoice your first few clients before subscribing.
Automation workflow it's just simply great to save time. All the connections with the CRM works perfectly and makes you to save lots of time.
The most important feature which I like is the branding ,you can put your own logo and customize invoices accordingly. Second most important feature which I like is integration with stripe and Paypal.

Pros

My customers are also super happy because HP tells them when something is scheduled and allows them to interact with us. More engaged clients mean happy clients that may spend more.
I love this software, I cannot thank the pros at housecall enough for introducing me to this product. The fee is very affordable and it has everything that I need to run my business daily.
I just like the ease of use and the organization of it. Keeps me organized and helps me accomplish more.

Cons

My problem with zoho invoice lies in the loss of operability when the internet fails, reducing the productivity of the product and forcing us to have alternative plans to supply this failure.
As a freelancer, invoicing can be time-consuming, messy, and frustrating.
I don't like the reporting tool that i find a bit hard to use.

Cons

They utilize a chat bubble on their website for support and have little to no way of escalating a problem to speak with someone. The implementation of new features comes fast and furious.
We reluctantly renewed for one more year because of the hassle of yet another transition, and I can certainly say it has proved to be a mistake and regret.
When your account ask for that information you will not be able to provide that to them. You will eat that loss on your tax filing.

Overall starting out it was ok. Even though there were setbacks it helped on a budget. However there are much better programs out there that are less maintenance and easier to use.

Pros

The free service makes it great for someone starting or learning how to use invoices with no overhead. Its easy to use and print reports for file keeping, and visually appealing to customers.

Cons

If you are looking for more advanced features like advanced payment processing or sending to more than 5 users. etc, you will want to use the pro version or most likely look somewhere else for the price you pay. The customer service is terrible and outsourced to other countries. This is an issue if you need any assistance whatsoever.

Excellent Invoice and Time Tracking Software for Freelancers and Small Businesses

Excellent time tracking and accounting functionality at the excellent price!

Pros

The first obvious pro is that for a single freelancer this software is free at a fully functional level. Given that other alternatives I have made use of in the past cost at least p/m, often more, for the same, or even less, functionality, it's a great choice indeed. Also very impressive is the level of functionality available. I currently maintain a 35 client active client database, can track time for and bill them all, receive payment in several different ways including PayPal and M/Visa and get excellent reports with a few clicks on all kinds of aspects of my account activity.

Cons

Sometimes the settings can be a little hard to adjust, you may have to dig deep to figure some things out, but after two years of use, I do pretty much have it figured out now.

Cons

Wish the software had material tracking. Only other issue I have is the color designated for each employee on the calendar changes from desktop to iPad making it difficult to remember which tech is which. Other than that they do a great job keeping the software updated.

Housecall Pro has made it easier for us to dispatch, invoice, accept payments, and transfers invoice information to quickbooks seamlessly. It just works! Very reliable, affordable, and easy to use!!

Pros

Easy to set up and get started using. Easy to navigate through when invoicing a customer.

Cons

We would like to have a way to have cooling and heating checklist to be able to attach to an invoice when we are doing maintenance and maybe a “you save” pricing column to offer service agreements to our customers (although we have found a workaround for the checklist).

The schedule manager is the best thing ever! Having our technicians know where and when their next job is at with the ability to send "OMW" messages and even start the time tracking once they get there is so helpful!

Cons

Not being able to change the customer on an invoice can sometimes be an issue. We need to remake the invoice and change the number so it accurately matches. This doesn't happen often but some times we send the invoice to the owner but they want it sent to the contractor and then their name isn't on the invoice...

I like how easy it is for me to enter on the price list and scroll through to get an invoice written. I can literally do an invoice in minutes

Cons

I would like to see price list for estimates separated from service price lists. Its not a big deal but i think it would be easier for me. Also, on the dashboard, i would like it to be easier to remove completed tasks that were saved there on their own.

I like that I can Search History it makes it easy to check customers last visit. Reschedule job for a later date is easily done

Cons

when the tech is finished (I know it changes to white) but I would like to be able to some how check a box or change the color so "I" know "I" have already entered it into my accounting program, rather then going back and forth

Cons

Some of the calendar function Is a little hard to get use to, Mainly the saving of dates/events. The save Button is in different places and there'e the back button. You check the calendar to not find the event so you redo it and then it's on there twice. Not sure if or how jobs show on the calendar that take muti day's to complete

It's be a positive change to our business. Overall there are some major shortcomings but some of them have been addressed through software updates and we've learned to live with others. There is a lot of "fluff" that would be cool if it worked but as it is it just gets in the way, it should really be removed until it can be implemented into the program properly.

Love the customer Services. They are always quick and nice. However, too many times their answers are “that can’t be done but we can put a suggestion in for the programmers”. That’s the answer 80% of the time. The software has awesome scheduling and communication features which keeps me using it.

Pros

Scheduling system is great. Easy for field techs to see what the have and when. Easy for them to send an invoice.

Cons

Backoffice. If someone calls and only has a quote or invoice number, you can never find it. There should be a “search for anything” field on all screens. Not just the invoice report screen. Also no one there knows the difference between an invoice and receipt. They should dump their invoice process and focus on better quality interface with quickbooks online.

Gaining more reviews with HCP , more pleasing layout of the invoices and estimates.

Pros

The automated review option sent to customer at invoice time

Cons

Integration with Google Calendar is 1 way only...would be nice if it was both ways and able to adjust google and show up in HCP

Pros

Easy to use, I like that everything for invoicing, billing and messaging are all manageable from one place. I also like being able to manage employees with it.

Cons

needs some of the message notifications fixed and invoices don't always save from when one user goes out of invoice and another user gets into invoice.

Pros

one place to keep all paperwork and schedules organized and awesome communications fgor my customers

Cons

Reviews that dont synch with Google are stored in the app which does no good. No external visibility. more power from a laptop base than the app on mobile devices.

This system has helped our company in many ways from being paperless to time productive.

Absolutely saves us time and accountability.

Pros

I love the date and time stamps of tracking each transaction whether it be a note, sending an invoice or a customer reviewing their invoice via email.....it's an all around time saving system.

Cons

I wish the software would have a capability to send monthly statements for customers with outstanding balances. We service several multi-housing customers and therefore they have several balances for each. If Housecall had a capability to send statements we could eliminate using Quickbooks.

As to date great experience!

Pros

All of my existing customers and new like the effects of the schedule alerts, the estimate approval ease on line, and the capability to pay your invoice while your viewing your invoice that was emailed.

Cons

Haven’t really come across a con to date. I am mainly a user, my office staff have had a few things that were questionable, however to my knowledge there questions where answered by using the help option, and a phone call
