It was a recommended partner of Practice Fusion and promised a very low claim rejection rate.
Labor intensive Practice Management Software. We did not use the EMR since we were using Practice Fusion (which is free).

that it is connect to the practice management program. On our old system to had to purchase two different programs. One for EHR and one for practice management.
the nursing staff doesn't like it very much. They are still getting used to the change. I don't work with the Electronic Health Record side very much. I do most of my work with the practice management program.

The sales team was fantastic during the discussions. In the end, this software was too robust for what our limited size practice actually needed. They could not adjust price based on usage.
I loved all of the features for this product. Lots of options.
The price point was too high for a limited practice.

The tec support are helpful but the software does not improve. Also the representative they assign to help you is useless
If you have a very basic practice it works
Everything is an add on and if you have anything more complicated then a PCP office the features are just not there. Constant problems with connect and development just does not build features to compensate for shortcomings

Very good
That it can be customized -- to a point -- to my practice.
Many things can not be added or changed unless done through the company -- and if it is not on their list of changes it may never happen. It is also not as intuitive to use as one would hope.

We've been using AdvancedMD both the practice management side and EHR side in our practice for 3 years now in our practice in a high traffic, fast paced office. We see on average 40+ patients a day for one provider.
Fairly user friendly and easy to train new employees on the system.
There is no way to track cancelled appointments for recall. This is by far the biggest downfall of this software and can be detrimental to many practices. Several of the reports are limited ie, you cannot separate patient's by insurance carrier. It doesn't prompt you for duplicate patients when entering in new patients. Setting up the schedule template is time consuming and not easy to change once you've made the initial template.

The continued downtime is making us consider changing vendors.
The practice management features and layout are good. The EHR is okay.
Way too much downtime! There is an issue with either PM or EHR (mostly EHR), literally once a week. Issues range from loss of features and some functionality to not being able to use the system at all. For example, once we could not login to PM or EHR for over 2 hours! And when we called it wasn't just our office, it was a system wide outage.

The practice management side is much easier to work with.
The practice management side. I like the various options for looking up a patient or carrier, etc.
Building templates that accommodate our needs. We are a orthopedic trauma surgeon practice and the existing templates at the time we started were not conducive to helping our physicians get documented what they needed. Creating the word merge documents to go with the templates was a NIGHTMARE!! Also don't like the fact that in order to get the coding function to work, we need to complete a review of systems for each visit. According to E/M coding guidelines, an established patient only has to meet two of the three required criteria to meet the standard. Since a ROS is just a PART of the history component, if on an established patient we meet the examination and medical decision making components, we should NOT have to complete a ROS in order to get the coder to work.

The software revolutionizes healthcare documentation. You can't be without it. It's easy to learn, intuitive and expands to accommodate a wide variety of needs.
The Practice Manager and EHR are very broadly integrated, are very smooth and thoroughly comprehensive.
I have found it somewhat challenging to customize clinical templates , but there are many choices available.

The reports provide providers with ways to grow their practice and to keep track of their revenue. So we can always inform them where there strengths and weaknesses to only help improve their practice.
Advancedmd is easy to use for both the pm and ehr. I love the ease of use of how quickly we can train doctors and office staff. I also have always been impressed with the support that I always receive from Advancedmd from every department.
When I'm in charge entry and a patient makes a copay and a payment, I wish we could apply it all in one screen instead of having to post the copay and then pull of the patients account to post the rest.

I have tried to reach out to all with little success. I always am on hold for a long time have about 10 open tickets with not much resolved, looked at billing service because apparently only way for AdvancedMD to look into my system to see if it is set up correctly but the references provided to me were not happy with billing company-just another number in a large company and practice still had to fight claims with insurance company, find a different credit card processing company and do own patient collections.
Simple to use, demographic portion, old scheduler, claim inspector, had system for almost 6 years-not much better
Lack of support, reporting is awful, buttons that don't work, very expensive to practice, aggressive sales force

Adjustable to individual practice. Easy to navigate in the system. Training library and help content that is available .
All the add on costs for every update. System slowness at times. I'm old fashioned and like more person to person communication.

The training was very poor. The original set up was not through or done correctly and that caused delays in the training process.

Steer clear if you are trying to maintain the 'bottom line'!
I like the Practice Management side of AdvancedMD. My Office Manager especially likes it's ease of use with billing.
The lack of transparency with billing; meaning AdvancedMD has tripled our cost to use it in three months time. Unacceptable! Furthermore, they have no intention of standing behind the price they quoted us.

Its changing our practice, and we will soon be "Chart" free (paper that is).
The overall functionality is superb. I can log-in from any computer, or at home, even from my phone. Like when you need to know how early a patient can get in the next day or that morning. All of the parts work together as a whole like a finely tuned machine. The appointment schedule is a multi-tasker in itself, you can get to pretty much any function you need from there (except master files, fee schedules & settings, which are more of an admin function). Charge entry is awesome, and seamless to "search" for diagnosis codes and procedure codes. And, the insurance payment Auto-Posting is Unbelievable, like adjusting off correct amounts, putting patient responsible amounts to the patient account correctly, and in literally a minute or so. Also AMD is compatible with using "Dragon" for voice text entry and especially SOAP note creation. One of the absolutely best things is, it doesn't matter what specialty or type of provider you are, it will cover all of the bases. I began using billing & practice management software in the 80's so I have a lot to compare AMD to, so take a CLOSE look at AMD, and take it for a test drive !!!
I think there should be the ability to do "Diagnosis pointing", so that U can define a specific Dx code to be most primary to each line item. For some practice types, that have more repitition of same or similar treatment from visit to visit, like PT or Chiro etc, I think having the functionality of somewhat more automated EHR note creating from visit to visit would also be helpful, even though AMD has a huge library of templates which is really awesome.

The PM software works as expected. We have saved about 35 work hours/week using AdvancedMD over our previous billing system. We hit so many bumps while working with the implementation team. They had a set script and any deviation led to multiple challenges. It took weeks to get questions answered. They didn't appear to take notes in meetings or put the follow-up actions on a to-do list. Despite what had been worked out with the sales team, the implementation team was unaware of our specific contract details. Hopefully, they've gotten the training or support they needed. We appealed to leadership in the sales department to get expert help, and to AdvancedMD's credit they recognized the problem and connected us with a fantastic person. PM Implementation took months longer than "normal" according to the schedule they provided us, and EHR implementation is ongoing a year after we signed the contract. I believe our implementation will succeed, however pyrrhic. It's been rough. I've fallen in love with paper in a way I couldn't have imagined twelve months ago.
I like the pricing options- many companies will not offer per claim pricing. Chrome support is slowly taking shape.
Software ostensibly supports flexible workflows, but in practice, each adjustment results in a spiraling accumulation of epicycle-esque inefficiencies.

NOT for the solo or small practice. System is geared toward an already up and running clinic of the BigBox Medicine genre. Despite advertising stills, it is not optimized for Mac (a less vulnerable system for data breach). Despite advertising stills, AMD still does not allow patients to make their own appointments & do their own data entry.
One or two of the options allow the practice owner/mgr to see a particular patient’s appts, self-payments & insurance payments.
Requires an already trained, fully functional front office staff to do all data entry, requires constant oversight to reduce errors of data entry.

Extremely positive. The software can handle anything we throw at it.
AdvancedMD is easy to use while having all the features needed to manage a practice. And the treatment templates are customizable.
Not much. There are so many options, sometimes we forget where to find the feature we need.

I have been happy with Advanced MD and it helps me run my solo medical practice efficiently.
I have been using AdvanceMD for 6 years now. It is well integrated and has all of the software that I need in running my solo medical practice. It contains PM, Reporting, Messaging, Faxing, Patient Portal, EMR and E-prescribing. It is very customizable.
It comes with a library of templates for the EMR but creating your own from scratch can be time consuming. Creating output of finished notes for these templates can also be difficult, but once it is set up it continues to work well.

My overall experience with Practice Pro is good. I have used other EHR systems and this is by far the best in regards to customization, ease of use on the therapist, and efficiency.
My favorite feature is the customization of the SOAP note and the EHR format. Physical Therapy documentation is so much different from physician offices. Even within the Physical Therapy profession itself has varying needs. As a vestibular specialist, I need different tables and things than other traditional orthopedics PTs. The fact that I can make it everything I want it to be is wonderful. Customer service is usually extremely supportive and I feel like they take into account my opinions as a therapist.
I don't have access to the financials but I know it is expensive.
