Billing made a lot easier with ALORA.

Pros

Switching from Axxess to Alora is very easy. Staff of Alora is very knowledgable in what they do.

Cons

Some of the features of the software like carrying over the therapy notes from OASIS to POC doesn't work and PT visit notes doesn't carryover to the next PT visit notes.

Administrative assistant/ Office manager/ Billing Manager

Reviewed 7 years ago

On the Classic Version we do not have a place to put comment when the patient has a change on the profile. For the New Web version on the Oasis there is no name and date the person who made change on the Oasis.

Pros

Alora is easy software to use, to access and manage with the help of the windows that the programmer created for the client to be able to use. This software gives opportunity to any user whatever the level of computer knowledge to use it without worrying about the improvement of the work; you do not try to think too much to do the work. It is software that does not require much computer knowledge for its use. It is software that accepts the whole level of study to use it.

Cons

What concerns me the most after the webinar training there are no certificates provided to encourage all those who have taken the training that will allow the motivation and the participation of the user to follow the software update and some changes rules from CMS

A Great System Overall - May Lack Specificity for Some Applications.

Reviewed 5 years ago

Overall, I think it was a good system. For our particular specialty, it lacked the specificity we needed for many of our forms and the EVV system was better on other platforms. The lack of specificity in the forms meant a lot of extra work on our end, to create many of the documents that we regularly use for Medicaid authorization renewals.

Pros

My favorite component of the system is one that is often underrated, the dashboard. The dashboard is not only visually appealing, but well organized with lots of helpful information at a glance. The system seemed very flexible in the sense that you can free form a lot of things. If you already have a very specific setup for many of your forms, this can work really well for you as you.

Cons

The downside to the flexibility of the forms is that it lacks specificity. This means that, out of the box, you will have more work to do in setting up your forms than other EMR systems. It take s a while to customize many of these forms which takes time and effort away from the daily business.

Easy to use and all in one place!

Reviewed a year ago

Alora has helped our agency grow; it allows us to use for our Home Health patients as well as our Home Care clients. It is easily grasped by staff, whether you or old, technically savvy or not, they usually pick up quickly.

Pros

I love that everything is in the same place, you can find information for your staff as well as your clients/patients. Very easy to use once you get used to it.

Cons

When there is a connection problem or lagging in the scheduling which I have noticed lately when filling in a lot of appointments.

Alora is the best product for small businesses to large businesses.

Reviewed a year ago

We started this system in the early stages of building our business. We have found that it is easy to use, not killing our bank account, and easily expands as our company grows. The customer service is very friendly, and works diligently to solve all issues.

Pros

Alora provides a great product. The medical records are easy to access, easy to use, and the customer service is spectacular.

Cons

I don't have any negative issues at this time.

Pros

You can upload to the EHR in a more timely fashion. You can look at multiple sites with ease. In the Reports section you can type in what you want instead of scrolling down.

Cons

I don't like that you cannot see a 60 day episode at one time. It is broken up when the month changes. It is not as easy to navigate through an episode when scheduling.

Alora Plus still has a few minuses

Reviewed 6 years ago

Limited number of electronic fax pages that can be sent on a monthly basis (100), is not good for larger companies trying to be paperless.

Pros

The dashboard is quite comprehensive. The ability to customize to each employees' needs. Schedules are easy to create and read.

Cons

The client demographic information and the admission data being split into 2 different areas makes it difficult to navigate between the two. While the 485 is created based off the completed Oasis assessment, it is not generated automatically, so you have to go back and manually click through to complete the 485 and fax out.

Alora streamlines documentation, enhances efficiency, and elevates patient care to unprecedented levels!

Reviewed 4 months ago

Alora has exceeded my expectations in every way. I have used a lot of EMR systems in my career and Alora by far has the most user friendly, efficient platform for home care. The software is extremely easy to use and learn, encompasses everything my business needs to be efficient and compliant and is able to be customized to the specific needs of my agency. The implementation was seamless, organized...

Pros

My favorite aspect of Alora is its user-friendly interface and smooth navigation, which greatly improves our ability to efficiently manage patient care, documentation, and communication within our home healthcare agency. Additionally, Alora's robust features and customizable options empower us to tailor the software to our specific needs, enhancing our overall workflow and productivity.

Cons

What I find challenging about Alora is its cost structure, which is difficult for smaller home healthcare agencies or those operating on tighter budgets. While the software offers valuable features, the upfront licensing fees and ongoing subscription costs poses financial constraints for us as a start up company.

Top Performing Home Health Care Solution

Reviewed 2 years ago

I would describe my overall experience as a win. Alora Home Health has been and still is one of the top performing home health care solutions. I advise that new organizations start with Alora as less training will be needed and it is affordable, while still having the might to manage the organization collectively. The management of skilled and non-skilled care is one of the most important features Alora has to offer. Problems solved: The need for one collective platform, the need to manage all components and staff, the need for fair pricing and support.

Pros

- Management of all components of home health care. - Affordable, fair price. - Learn to use in a reasonable amount of time. Arranged in a very practical way. - Beneficial to supervisors, caregivers, and patients both individually and collectively. - Scheduling and time management. - Documentation and E-Signatures. - Management of skilled and non-skilled care. - Management of workflows, paperless and efficient. - Accept medicaid and medicare. - Management of billing and invoicing. - EVV included. - Support is above and beyond.

Cons

- Missing features/feature quality: scheduling, notes, charts, lists and databases. Notification settings are standard, vital information has been lost or overlooked. - Some nurses and home care staff needed training in order to correctly use each and every feature. - Missing updates that other companies implemented years ago. - Complaints were heard but were not addressed.

Very poor and Unprofessional Service

Reviewed a month ago

Very poor experience with Alora. Unprofessional behavior experienced from Alora team by ignoring to help us fix the issues that keep occurring on a daily basis lately.

Pros

At first, it appeared Alora staff were professional and timely. Now, there are alot of ignored requests to resolve issues.

Cons

Management concern and corrections of issues. Appears management could care less about the stress the issues are causing the agency.

Built for home health care

Reviewed 2 years ago

For home health care this is one of the most specialized available. My organization used it for years. I'm able to better supervise using Alora and I'm glad that we used it. If the problems are fixed Alora would be the perfect home health care software.

Pros

Alora was created for home health care agencies and is designed to help manage operations smoothly. Stay compliant and manage documentation for all employees including those who provide non medical services like personal care or home care. The biggest help is that visit notes are automatically added, other software tends not to include visit notes and it's harder to schedule repeat or daily. Billing is easy even to medicare or medicaid, and Alora helps cut down on paper forms and records. The customer support team is very friendly and answered all of my questions on the spot.

Cons

Alora has had problems and holes in the software for years and those were never fixed or improved. The medicine list is not complete and dosen't list other names that would make searching for the medicine easier. It has abruptly stopped working and we have temporarily lost data but it was restored. A well structured selection panel for easier access would make Alora better too.

Thus far, my experience with Alora has been overall very good.

Reviewed 10 years ago
Pros

I am a fairly new user with lots of learning ahead of me. At this point of use with our new company, the software has been user-friendly and seems to be very comprehensive in the home care field. The best thing thus far has been the help/support I have received. They have been extremely helpful with resolving some issues and training, as well as with answering questions in a friendly and prompt...

Cons

The biggest issue up to this point is that the system seems to crash a lot when I have entered and completed a 485 then go to print. I have lost all data more than once when this happened which was frustrating. I have now learned to hit the save button before I try to print. It still crashes at times, but when I reopen the software, the 485 is there.

Excellent Customer support

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

Customizable. Parameters driven making it scalable. Well integrated with the DDE , Clearing houses and SANDATA for EVV transmission.

Cons

Because it is highly parameterized. Nursing staff finds it difficult to make proper use of it's customizing features. Initially, they take time to understand the information flow. I highly recommend to introduce incident reporting template. Nurses don't use communication log properly to report incidents. A/R Module is tedious.

Alora has been a great choice for us.

Reviewed 10 months ago

Overall, we are very pleased with our choice of Alora. Software has brought efficiency of tasks, as well as increased our billing revenues with less rejected/incorrect billing claims with approved/correct codes checked and validated before billing. It did not take us long to see benefits of Alora that we were not expecting when looking to change, in other words, it did not only meet our expectations, but surpassed them.

Pros

Ease of software, an all-in-one system. Helped us be compliant with the EVV requirement with the state. Billing validation.

Cons

We really have not experienced any negative with Alora and have absolutely no regrets.

Alora

Reviewed 9 months ago

Alora has aided in coming into compliance with EVV and also with billing streamlining.

Pros

Alora seems to be well suited for visit to visit nurse charting. There is also nice flow from OASIS to Plan of Care. We have had occasional difficulty with times from visit notes not transferring to times on the scheduler upon completion of nursing visit notes. Overall, nursing is satisfied with Alora.

Cons

Occasional "glitch", for example with visit times not flowing from note to scheduler.

Customer service has always been on point and continues the same quality of service no matter how many times you contact them. 9:10 your problem is solved or there is a followup resolution expedited whether quickly.

Reviewed 6 years ago

I would also like to see more features with Supervisory visit tracking (QA) and option to run multiple QA document type and status at one time. A request that was already discussed but note officially ticketed as feature upgrade. Also, enable more stricter and user friendly way that prohibits scheduling what is not authorized.

Pros

Fax ability, electronic nurses assessments. Lots of hard work updating and creating new features for compliance with New CMS CoP's!! Love the new POC Plus. Billing module, schedule module, etc...Perks!!

Cons

Carry over feature for skilled nurse visits when there are multiple nurses on the case. Other nurse's systems review boxes are carried over, interventions are carried over, general notes are carried over.... These are from another nurse's assessment and should not be part of the "carry over feature". Should have a choice to only carry over a particular user's last note, not just the last note in the system. So carry over feature should only populate from that specific user ID's last note.

Alora is non-interactive

Reviewed 8 years ago
Pros

We do not like this product at all. We do not feel that the program is intuitive. Support is poor and not timely.

Cons

The product is set up by task, instead of set up by client chart. The point of care tablet use is frustrating and time consuming. To chart on a nursing note, or any type of form, put the client name in, choose the correct client. If a medication needs to be added, close the nursing note, choose the med profile, type in client name, choose the client, add the med. Close the med, go back to nursing...
