Pros

The billing side of the service is fantastic and best in class as far as I can tell. They could not do a better job of making sure I get all of my money - payments as well as incentives.
Ease of use good but especially like the ability to customize to make this “ mine.
The ability to share those shortcuts was also very useful for providing the same template to multiple people.

Pros

I'm thrilled with all aspects of it and have been recommending it to every colleague who asks me which EMR to try. Fantastic product, great customer service.
My staff and I are extremely happy that we ended up with Elationhealth. Everyone loves Amazon as the website is very robust and user friendly.
Nevertheless, it is a powerful system and a joy to use. I highly recommend Elation EMR for a small to medium sized practice looking for an easy-to-learn, easy-to-use system.

Cons

The monthly cost is outrageous given all of the errors they make on posting and the terrible customer support.
By that time, you will have invested a ridiculous amount of time viewing training videos and probably don't want to start with a new company. Implementation was terrible and disorganized.
If Athena continues to ignore this gaping lack of service, they will lose clients to other programs (i.e. Epic) which have integrated this process more fully.

Cons

Unhappy only with mostly provider service when ongoing issues and cannot speak to live person. And lack of follow through on options such as online booking they had explicitly stated upon signing up.
The thing about it is that I am also a programmer. I work on web design, UI/UX, and frankly the UX sucks.
I have been trying to deal with this problem since early May and it is now July 13. Incredibly frustrating and I would not recommend this product to other physicians.

Not a good choice for Behavioral Health (psychology, psychiatry, counseling, etc.)

Pros

It is fast; automatically saves most of what you type in; does not crash very often (3-4 times/year); email support requests usually answered within 24 hours; online help knowledge base is comprehensive and it has a good search engine.

Cons

Not designed for mental health EHR, patient management, communication. Primary care clinicians say it's "pretty good" although "EPIC is better". Most behavioral health clinicians do not like Athena (based on support forum polls and Athena even admits it if your decipher the corporate-speak.) Athena rarely designs workflows, templates, and processes for Behavioral Health. They cobble together features and processes used by primary care clinicians and staff and tell us it's designed for Behavioral Health. If Athena employs mental health professionals I've never seen them on video presentations or as authors of "how to" resources or anywhere else.

Cons

Under the Remittance section of uploading the remittance if we recieve it along with the mastercard/visa, that section of where you place the check/other - Credit card has been taken off. Please place that section back on/

Great, one of the best online medical chart systems!

Pros

I like how it is not overwhelming and there is a very simple layout. It make my medical chart experience more pleasant because I don’t feel lost and can’t do everything I need too.

Cons

I have noticed I get confused when I have moved and switched health systems, then I have to make a new account even though I have used Athena health before. I wish there was a way to connect all accounts.

Cons

Sentinel Dashboard Metrics: my employees question the accuracy and validity of Athena Metrics. We use these Metrics to manage their performance and provide quarterly bonuses. I need to spend a lot of time validating the data and demonstrating the accuracy of the metrics. Would be great if Athena provided a tools that explains all metrics to employees, how they are measured and what they can do to improve performance.

Athena is seamless and great for medical practices that have licensed MDs, LCSWs, LMHCs, LCACs, and LMFTs. It is easy to find a diagnosis, an allergy, medications, appointments, etc... I would recommend this software to anyone who has a behavioral health practice incorporated with mental health.

Pros

This system is easy to use, provides a smooth transition to the next step, and has a layout that makes sense.

Cons

The only thing I don't like about it is that we can't keep this software because we cannot integrate it with our non-licensed practitioners.

mobile app is easy install and it's nice to have pictures of my providers

Cons

when I send an email to my provider, I get an autogenerated email that tells me the provider has sent me a message. Not! When i visit the provider, i get an autogenerated email inviting me to view meeting notes, etc. Nothing there. Either the design is flawed, or the implementation is bungled. This by Advent Health - not a small account for Athena Health.

This is not recommended for a small provider office or if you are using a different software for documentation of the patients health history.

Pros

I cant say that this product has any easy aspect to it. It does have a nice eye friendly view but has many difficult ways to do things.

Cons

If you want to print any reports you have to do this in excel. If you have any staff that are not savy in Excel it makes it more difficult to be able to function daily in the office. It takes a long time to learn to do their reporting and even then you have to be a genius!

Thinking about moving.

CSM care about the product, it's good when it works, but not liking it when I'm looking at my bank account and can't bill patients, patient accounts are wrong and my bank is light over 10k. Get your payer table spaces correct so that when you bill they are sent to the correct payer.

Pros

I really liked the machine learning part, sold one way but in reality, doesn't hit all the marks. We do like the patient care part, health history, and document management.

Cons

Billing, and medical bills. I'm writing this review because they are currently 2 months behind in updating billing and processing my checks. It's just not me that's having this issue, yes covid. However, that train has left. Athena took their invoice amount for last month but they haven't processed my checks to fill that void, don't do athena billing. Everything should be EFT straight to your bank, doing that now but have 9k sitting somewhere until they get people to process their payment.

It has allowed me to maintain a communication through the network of connection with my patients, generating a higher quality service every day.

Pros

The integration between the health network, medical connection in all its specialties and the wide variety of patients in a personalized service platform with state-of-the-art technology and quality.

Cons

It would be great to be able to integrate more integrated services in the platform such as laboratories, diagnostic centers, pharmaceutical industry with an operative interaction with the patient that allows a much more complete information network with an optimal quality care.

Pros

They are very aggressive in making you sign the contract; after that everything goes down hill. My experience was reported to the Regional Health Information Technology as a complete disaster and fiasco.

Cons

No on-site training for employees. The contact person was always absent and very hard to reach. They force you to open a bank account so they can be sure they are getting their share from your collections. The program does everything, but it's not user-friendly, and my staff hates it.

Nobody at Athena cares about small business with one doctor

Pros

Somewhat simple to use for basic tasks like input of patient for front desk, clinical and billing codes Not up to standard billing: Do NOT TRUST your business with Athena health

Cons

No help with claims or billing . They lie! Multiple claims in hold for computer issues /problems that they NEVER fix: You will NOT get PAID unless you have a person looking and working claim buckets to watch your claims go in bucket for credentials , even if you are they want to redo it and will not let claim process

On the billing side of Athena Health, I feel that it is very user friendly. It is rather easy to find tools for assistance and looking up certain CPT and diagnosis codes for ICD-10.

Cons

I feel that there are certain things in dropping claims that Athena could work better on such as submissions and follow ups. I also believe that the scheduling and templates could use some improvement.

I like the fact that if I need help I have access to search for my own answer and if I can not find it I have access to an Athena Health tech to help me!

Cons

I like the monthly updates, but when they first take place the video doesn't always let you know some aspects that might be affected. So when we come in on Monday morning we sometimes have some difficulties, but not everytime.

Athena for Surgeons

I have been using Athena health now for over 2 years and find that for the most part, it functions well as an EHR. The ease of use for MU is very helpful.

With apps and websites, they are enabling users and doctors, nurses, and patients to collaborate on health and wellness issues. Long running track history shows data from previous trials and visits in a meaningful and thorough manner.

Good solid EMR

Since switching to Athena health we have had increased office revenue with claims and decreased no shows for visits. It is a very easy EMR to navigate and our patients love having access to us providers via the portal.

Athena Health reminder calls

The Athena reminder call service saves our employees time to care for our patient's in the office and not leaving messages all day on a recording. Especially with multiple doctors in the office now. Thank you Athena Health for your top notch service.

Pros

Billing is easy for us. I like the reminder call service. Entering a patient is easy as well

Cons

I definitely wish there was a better training for the templates. I struggle with 19 templates to extend our schedule quarterly and wish I could get assistance with a faster way to do this. We have 3 doctors and they come and go. This makes my job difficult.
