This product is very useful for allocating timeslots, and allowing the users to book spaces and equipment in the lab building, the rooms/ equipment can be divided up on the software.

Currently, I am forced to spend lots of admin time daily checking and re-arranging people that have "double-booked". If they have double-booked, we cannot reliably say how many people were in that specific lab at that time.

This system works great in the research environment where more than one person will need a piece of equipment or room, and allows this to happen seamlessly.

It is obviously structured with the idea that outside people will be requesting access to use your instruments - sort of like a big Clustermarket community. If you don't operate that way (and we don't) then some of the ways in which things work in the software is pretty cumbersome and counterintuitive.

The video tutorials were very helpful to understand the software, and now the Bookit system allows you to book multiple slots simultaneously.

Sometimes pages can load slowly/ I wish the default window of the calendar was today / daily (or could be changed) since most of my instruments can only be booked that day!

I would appreciate a mobile-friendly website or a smartphone app as often I found myself trying to edit bookings with my smartphone and it's quite complicated.

It can sometimes be a little difficult to get the exact timing, and it would be nice to be able to edit or cancel a reservation after it has begun.

It would be good if there was a way to confirm whether a user has had training on the equipment and submitted a risk assessment before being allowed to book the equipment.

We have recently adopted the Clustermarket booking system for organising the useage of our laboratory equipment.

Sometimes it is not easy to modify the reservation (may be related to the administrator's authority), and secondly, it is difficult to use this software with a mobile phone.

For instance, booking hour settings in a group overrule the booking hour settings given to an individual user.

This allowed us to book both space and equipment to assure that lab members could plan for the use of smaller spaces, and avoid booking time in the lab for a piece of equipment that would already be in use at that time.  

The worst thing about the software is probably the notifications that the software gives the administrator. As we have so many bookings each day the notifications soon built up to a level that caused the server to timeout when trying to display or mark  them as read.

It also allows the notification via Bookkit of any problems present in the equipment we use, which is very handy. Plus, the admins can add the equipments' instructions in the software - which proves to be helpful if any equipment becomes faulty.

pieces of equipment, this then became a real game changer for managing ‘space’ – I took it to the next level of creating bookable space to manage fair usage of lab space following our return to the lab after lockdown.

The recent upgrade to V2.5 of Bookkit allows much more functionality and customisation of the usage reports by a number of filters, as well as giving users registered with another "lab" equal rights to be a "researcher" (our default user type) in our facility lab.

Hard to manage covid-19 restrictions - e.g. limited number of people allowed in each lab.

At times the site is buggy so the hours appear in the early morning when they are actually booked in the late afternoon.

The software comes with many features including assigning research groups their own equipment (which they can also be responsible for via the roles of instructors and technicians), it allows charging for the use of the equipment easily, and can place in time restrictions for reopening our lab due to Covid measures.

We were having trouble with instrument scheduling and asking colleagues individually who was using what instrument when.

The update recently that allows multiple admin users and viewing other labs/organisations in one makes it much more user friendly and allows for more flexibility.

I cannot add to one user two Groups with the same equipment listed in these Groups.

Not very intuitive at the start, such as dragging on the timeline to book a certain slot.

The only con would be that there is no feature allowing you to stay logged in.
