FOTO is a web-based outcomes management system that provides clinics with a standard in measuring rehabilitation outcomes. FOTO assessments measure patient outcomes to manage quality and market strengths with risk-adjusted nationally benchmarked reports per patient, therapist, clinical site, and company. The outcomes reports compare treatment effectiveness, treatment efficiency, and patient satisfaction by impairment. The solution currently has seven body specific orthopedic CAT outcomes measures for elbow/wrist/hand, shoulder, lumbar, hip, knee, ankle/foot, and general orthopedic, as well as a general medical CAT outcome measure for complex medical and neurological patients.
Risk adjustment features help control the influence of confounders such as the complexity and diversity of patients such as their age, gender, duration of symptoms and medical complexity. FOTO allows functional status outcomes to be interpreted in a meaningful manner with observational data to identify effective interventions during everyday clinical care. The solution’s models for predicting discharge functional status were generated by applying multiple linear regression statistical methods for important patient characteristics known to influence the prediction of the patient’s function.
Patient’s functional status change scores are calculated by subtracting the patient’s functional status score at admission from the patient’s functional status score at discharge. The average residual scores per clinician and/or clinic are calculated, and scores for all clinicians/clinics in the database are ranked.
