Review of MediTouch EHR

2016-11-12

There are so many nice features like Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances, faxing within the chart or EHR, and it does my billing to.

Pros

I can access my records from my IPad, my laptop, or any other device capable of getting on the Internet.

Cons

There is a learning curve and there are some bugs in the practice management portion where accounts will show an outstanding insurance balance when there is none.

Understand the nature of the beast. I often hear users complain about the difficulty in learning. Yes, from the management, development perspective there is a steep learning curve however, if you want to enjoy the benefits of all of the tools you must first understand the tools available so that you can then utilize them in meaningful (yes .. meaningful) ways in YOUR practice. If you want to robust features you must learn how they work and how to use them; it's that simple.

Confusing and needlessly complex, doesn't seem to be in touch with how med practices actually work

2017-11-08

help managing the business and provides financial reports

Pros

Automated features like real time server, claim edits, back ground business processor.

Cons

reporting is too restrictive, limited fields available make reports less useful and it would be great to be able to report by exclusion

Not overly happy with Practice Management side of software

2014-08-29

Pros

Handling the charge entry was great until they changed the claims management area.

Cons

Aging reports can only be done a year at a time, which doesn't help if you have insurance problems with the same patient; you have to run multiple reports.

Easy to use

2016-09-08

Pros

The simplicity, document management, reporting are all good.

Cons

Set up is more self-based so the time it can take is really dependent on how much time someone has to devote to the set up.

User of PM/EHR solutions

2017-11-07

Pros

customization to support varying workflows Mobile Solutions Portal functionality enhancements - self enrollment is a major plus

Cons

Currently, our practice is heavily involved with bundled payment initiatives and see this only expanding - would like to see a bundled patient management solution that would integrate risk calculations, clear episode of care mgmt., patient reported outcomes More education for sql reporting and crystal reporting

Nextgen EHR has good interaction with other Nextgen modules such as EPM

2017-11-07

Easy to use.

Pros

Nextgen is part of a large collaborative suite of products including EPM, Document Management, Mobile solution, Patient portal.

Cons

Product is forced out the door with bugs that need subsequent fixes, similar to IOS releases. Upgrading is a large project undertaking.

It is very customizable and I am still finding ways to customize for my office and be more efficient.

Pros

Customizable Optimized for iPad Web-Based Offers Practice Management

Cons

I don't want some default settings (like pre-printing my DEA number on all prescriptions). I would rather hand write it. Not as big of a deal now that I e-prescribe.

System lacks functionality comparable to other programs on the market.

2018-02-06

Pros

Utilizing the Reports available has proven to be beneficial financially and in reference to organizational time management.

Cons

Tech support wait time varies 20 - 65 minutes; phone call return option has been unsuccessful; system down for maintenance frequently. In Scheduling you can view only ONE month at a time, there is no roll-over to partial following month.

I have worked with multiple EMRs and this is one of the worst. Do not buy this product.

We are a practice that fights every denial and will reprocess to the fullest extent. If your practice is a more relaxed practice, this software will be great for you. It is user-friendly and has great training and support. No program is perfect, but there are others I have used and paid more for that were far less easy to use. I think our practice could stand more training, but we just are too busy and lack the time. This system does way more than we probably even know.

NextGen Review

Talk to a physician who has used it. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews left by office managers, billers, or other non physicians. You'll be in the trenches with this monstrosity. It behooves you to talk to someone who's been there and done that. I've been there and it is a bad place.

IT Program/Project Manager

To mitigate, in 2011, additional Practice Management training from NextGen and EHR Training/template development resources from Ciscon were engaged to review billing processes and create clinical workflows. Thanks to NextGen/Ciscon, we were able to launch the EHR in 2013.

Pros

Besides the EHR and Practice Management, NextGen provides a Patient Portal, ePrescribe capability, Rosetta and MirthConnect (allowing interfaces to any system like LabCorp, Quest, Immunization Registries.), and much more!

Cons

Like any EHR (vs a paper chart), there are lots of clicks for the clinical staff members.

Has improved the clinical management of our patients and improved our reports capabilities.

Pros
