It's very user-friendly. One doesn't need to be a computer savvy person to successfully utilize this program. The transition from paper files to EMR was made very smooth by the technician assigned to our practice EMR system implementation. He was very efficient and very professional skillful individual. The affordability of this EMR system is one of the best features.
The tech support needs to be more proactive. Phone calls need to be returned in a more timely matter. Although they are usually pretty good, occasionally phone calls are returned several hours after the phone call is placed.

We have been using PrognoCIS for almost 10 years now. While many of our colleagues discuss changing from one product to another, we are not. The customer support and tech support team have been beefed up and now if I call, I expect to get right through. Happy to report. Years ago, maybe not. But now, absolutely. I would be pleased to recommend.
Ease of use. Workflow. Company stands by their product.
Years ago, I would have said customer hold times.

We have learned to love it !
This system is great for a Dr's office - it is an overall ease of use for all staff from front to back office - for all staff from check out to triage to billing Even the Dr will like it !
There are some learning curves - with adding templates at the beginning - and codes and your little quirks But all worth it in the long term

Nothing really stands out much about Prognocis software. Everything I have seen in comparison is ages ahead of what Prognocis can do..
Tech service is overseas - hard to communicate. I literally out off having to make a call to get help with a particular task.

I like the ease of getting through the medical records. I also like the fact that I can fax someone different attachments through the MR. That saves lots of paper and time. If I ever have an issue, technical support is always quick to answer my call, and they are always polite and courteous.
The update that just went out created lots of problems that we had to call and fix, some of which they are still working on. Also, there isn't a way to attach the patient's demographics when you are sending an electronic fax. This is very important to fax when you are sending a referral.

The demographic page was adaptable for our needs. I like the ability to schedule and view multiple providers and their willingness to customize what they could to fit our needs.
They've have communication breakdowns, and it takes a good deal of time to complete requests. There are a lot of glitches still in the program. There's a lack of complete training. We're not able to scan over 30 pages at a time into a patient chart. We were never able to use the fax inbox for both our locations; it only worked at one location, even after several attempts by the technician and costly IT expenses.

We have had bad experiences in the past, but with PrognoCIS from Bizmatics, it has been a breeze. The EMR is very intuitive. One of the best parts about the system is the individual client support that you receive. Our rep has just been wonderful. I do not think I could have done this without her. Once everything was set up, the other technical support team members were ready to help with any issues or questions that arose.
We have really liked everything about this system. If there are specific changes that we would like to see, all we have to do is ask.

The EHR is user-friendly and allows you to chart with accuracy and efficiency. With the use of the Podiatry templates, it made the start up relatively easy. The technical support is available throughout the day. The longest that I have been down is less than one hour. The IT team gets back to you often within the hour. The portal is available 24 hours/day.
The difficulty is associated with meeting the requirements established by the federal government and the incentive program rather than the vendor. The vendor assisted with Medicare attestation.

The best thing about PrognoCIS EMR and Bizmatics is the ease of access. No matter where I am, if a problem arises that's drawn to my attention, I can log in to help resolve the issue. Whether it's a patient note, a physician question, a lab result, an order, an x-ray result, etc., it's all at my fingertips.
The least appreciated about PrognoCIS is the when the system slows down due to maintenance or a server issue. It truly presents a problem when many patients are backed up, and it is impossible to document. When the system slows down, it slows way down.

We are a busy Podiatry Practice and we went live with Prognocis EMR in February 2013. Our previous EMR left us suffering financially due to the ineffectiveness of their system and lack of support. In just a short amount of time I can honestly say that Prognocis has already made a difference in our practice. Prognocis EMR is very user friendly and the support staff is absolutely great. The billing staff is also a great team, they stay on top of everything the practice needs in order to process clean claims. The training videos are a great tool, you can go back and watch them anytime you need to refresh. We are very impressed and extremely happy that we chose Prognocis as the new EMR for our practice. Things are looking better every day!

The best part about this product is the alert system. You're able to make sure every patient's needs are always alerted.
I cannot send prescriptions via PrognoCIS, and that ends up being very time consuming when the flow of patients is heavy.

This company will build their system around your practice; in other words, they can make it "your practice-friendly". Our practice needed several changes to be added because of our clearinghouse, and when we called to get the changes added and linked from the software to the clearinghouse, the vendor made it happen so that I could continue to build for the practice.
When upgrades are being made, some additions are added that are not friendly to your practice. But, the good thing about it is that you can call and have it removed.

The customer service. Our coordinator of implementation was and continues to be very responsive to our needs and issues that arise in the course of evolution of the software.
The web-based platform isn't quite seamless. By this I mean there are adjustments and settings that need to be made to your browser to support the functions. Also, scanners and faxes need to be installed with the help of IT for each new device,computer, etc. The IT staff is very responsive, however, and do this without complaint for as many devices are necessary.

The flexibility of use, regardless of practice specialty and practice size. The ease of ICD coding to represent the exact diagnosis of the doctor. The patient portal that will help free up my staff and phone lines, and the ease of e-prescribing. The system also has a professional sophisticated billing system that makes it easier to explain patients' accounts.
So far, nothing. My area of question remains in the billing area, which I am not worried about, since my billing is in the hands of professionals.

The software is very simple to deploy and learn. The interface is extremely user-friendly, and it has most of the practices already setup in the form of template. I wholeheartedly recommend the adoption of this EHR that will guarantee you get the appropriate refunds regarding Meaningful Use. It has been a rewarding experience to have PrognoCIS as our core medical record system and billing.
Creating custom letters is difficult, and the written output is HTML-based and a bit difficult to work with.

I like the set up and how the patients accounts look. It is very easy to get around and work on without constantly needing help!
I don’t like that you have to open an extra window for the program to open up. Too much clutter on my taskbar confuses me!

I like the flexibility to change and add templates so that the written report says precisely what I want it to say. The progress report and letters don't sound like a computer talking. It reads like I dictated every word. That's important when auditors read it. They are looking for "cook book" passages so they can deny payment.
Poor response to questions. Their engineers do not understand medical practice and do not answer our questions until the second or third clarification.

PrognoCIS has alway been able to help with enhancements that make the software work for all kinds of different practices. I have used PrognoCIS for over seven years and have used it in several different specialities; they have served our office/clinic/facility very well.
I really can not say. There are somethings that cause issues for us, but as soon as I get a hold of the techs, they are alway more than willing and able to correct/adapt PrognoCIS to our needs.

The sales staff was extremely helpful. They listened to what we wanted in an EMR and explained how they could accommodate us. They did not try to sell us more. The EMR was easily customized with the help and training of our implementer - both at the practice level and individual provider level.
Our main complaint is that the Patient Portal does not meet our need in so far as on-line scheduling is concerned. The Patient Portal is not readily altered.

Their customer support representatives take a lot of time to help us with any questions we have. In fact my implementor worked with me on a Sunday when he was off to help my office because we were having some problems.
It is not tailored to my specialty. I am a chiropractic physician and would prefer software that is catered to my profession. This software is designed for any specialty, which makes it more useable throughout the medical profession.

I liked the support and accessibility of the staff. The product itself failed us as a practice.
The earlier version was confusing and busy. There was little customization, and while our providers liked the EMR, billing and front desk was challenged to effectively identify monies owed. I'm not sure if it offered it, but we did not have a button to click to check insurance eligibility. As a result, several patients were seen that didn't actually have coverage.

Having the EMR and Billing Module directly connected makes retrieving notes for insurance requests a breeze. It is also very helpful as a biller to have the codes already in the claims to be reviewed/adjusted as needed prior to submission, cutting down claim submission time.
There are some functionalities that with further enhancement could allow for a better workflow, but that is basically due to our specific needs/requirements.
