Pros

I liked the ability to create my own layouts and favorite encouters to be more efficient. Also like the feature where I can just duplicate previous notes and diagnosis.
I felt I received great personal attention from helpful trainers. Having an implementation coordinator is helpful to keep me on track during the entire process.
I believe it to be as good as any competitor for a fraction of the cost. It is generally pretty self explanatory and user friendly.

Pros

My training experience with our rep has been so helpful and supportive. I will recommend ICANote any time.
Fair price, great customer service and reliable platform. They are a company with many years of experience, I have been using their product since 2005 and it has only improved over the years.
The support and training that has been provided to our team has been fantastic. The ease of use had made transition for new hires to acclimate and provide quality documentation.

Cons

It is even more frustrating when there is no solution to an error and you have to wait for a fix and put up with the errors until the fix comes out.
The SQL search function is difficult to use. Sometimes we have had troubles with the stability of the software - sometimes it crashes and you have to restart it.
The billing program has to be checked and often rebilled for missing claims. The drop down lists are not optometry specific and can be very tedious to find the right listing.

Cons

There are places where you can get stuck and can't move. For example, creating a patient chart that does not have all the required information gives you an error message.
They seemed clueless of how to transfer data. They were unable to transfer records from a group practice without having to recreate the entire record.
I canceled SFAX due to poor customer service and excessive cost, and ongoing failed faxes. Approximately 6-10 in any given day.

ICANotes meets highest expectations

I have used ICANotes off and on since the early 2000's. The only reason I stopped using this powerful program was due to the constraints of where I was working. There are so many improvements over the past 10 years that when I returned 2 years ago I was amazed. Perhaps one of the best features is there customer support system. Questions are quickly answered. If you have suggestions for improvement, someone actually reviews these and even implements the better suggestions. I could not recommend this software system enough. I wholeheartedly give this a 5 star rating!!

Pros

-Excellent customer support -Constantly updated and improved -Easy to use -Easily customized to my needs as therapist -Set for a wide range of healthcare providers -Integrated billing process -Quick notes that touch on all important aspects of visit -Economical, especially in light of how much you receive for the monthly fee

Cons

There are really very few cons that I would downgrade ICANotes about.

Orientation limitation

Get some psychologist or other therapist to expand the text options for other types of treatment.

Pros

I enjoy the flexibility of the program for taking my text and formatting it professionally for letters and notes. I like how I can use menu options and easily change them to reflect my own ideas. Technical support is immediately available, but answers are short and there is little opportunity to get a more in-depth orientation. I took the test drive and found it to be helpful, but this hasn't been an advertised offering for current users, and I think it should be.

Cons

The options for therapy interventions and treatment planning are old fashioned and problem focused. More advanced therapeutic practices are solution focused and strength focused. There are also very few options for reflecting relationship based problems and solutions- the orientation is almost entirely intra-psychic instead of interpersonal.

OK for Small Mental Health Group

No great. I think this would work as an end to end solution for a very small mental health practice. It is not good if you need to get things done quickly and efficiently.

Pros

My mental health providers that have been on this software for a long time really like it. They are very fond of the EHR and feel like it works best for them.

Cons

I don't like a lot of things about this software. It is very slow, there is not enough RAM to run the software through their "web based" rdp connection. Terrible customer service, no ability to reach anyone, when you do they are not helpful and never provide solutions. Trying to create an integration with their "preferred" partners is an impossible task. They want to charge for services that no one else charges for and do not respond for months at a time even after following up weekly. Running reports is almost comical. Something that would take seconds in another billing system takes hours or even DAYS to complete in ICANOTES. We have a special computer that only runs reports on ICANOTES because they can take anywhere from 8-24 hours to run and then "export."
