Pros

Love the calendar feature where it syncs with my Google calendar. Love the reminders for client appointments and how they can manage their own appointments.
I like the fact that we no longer have to have paper files, ease of use overall and some of the features like appointment reminders, the ability to create and add your own documents.
This software is richly featured. I've appreciated the ability to create very sophisticated custom online intake forms, and and the autopay enrollment for automated batch credit card billings.

Pros

I find the chat feature especially helpful and effective for communicating with clients during moments when their internet service is suboptimal. I am very pleased with Thera-LINK.
They answer their phones, respond to emails, and in short, are ready to help. An additional nice feature in their ability to allow communication via messaging between client and therapist.
It's easy to use and increasingly growing in functionality and features. The interface is clean and the video and audio quality are consistently strong.

Cons

I have struggled most with billing—getting cards to not charge for missed appointments. Reminders have occasionally caught me off guard—either they went out too many times or not enough.
This annoyed me because my time is very valuable and I specifically set aside the time for my training and no one bothered to alert me that it had been canceled.
My main complaint is that I have had trouble getting someone on the phone when I have an issue. They do tend to respond by email quickly but sometimes I would prefer a phone conversation.

Cons

When I requested to cancel my services...once again the response...do it yourself and there are no refunds. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.
The only issue I have is occasional service interruption due to loss of internet signal strength.
The worst part about the desktop platform is their customer service they can take hours or days to respond to your request via their online chat.

My therapists and myself have had repeated issues with broken links, sudden changes from say CST to EST and unknowingly missing an appointment.

Pros

I haven't liked much of anything about simple practice as a client

Cons

Timing issues, link issues, missed appointments due to both.

Simple Practice cuts down on my time spent sitting in front of the computer so that I can focus most of my attention on my clients.

Pros

I like the ease and accessibility of the product. It is very intuitive for someone who is not super tech savvy. It has all the functions I need to keep my electronic records HIPPA compliant and keep me on track with my business.

Cons

I struggled to find out how to link Stripe with Simple Practice.

Excellent. Very easy for clients as well, but it would be helpful if you made the client video link larger.

Pros

The group practice I'm with uses SimplePractice, and I just bought it for an additional practice I opened, I love it so much. It is VERY simple, and the Telehealth component is top notch!

Cons

Finding the onboarding document section was difficult

Pros

I am new to private practice and to Simple Practice. So far, I love the look of it, generally easy navigation on my end, and so many options and templates for forms. I do scheduling myself (I don't have it set up for clients to schedule) but find it really easy on my end. Although it's not super easy to get in touch with a live person for help, there are a TON of videos and other tutorials to support set up and management.

Cons

I really wish that clients didn't need a new link every time they want to open their portal!

Ease of use, time saving, scheduling, and a portal all in one.

Pros

I work both in private practice and at an agency, so over time I've had experience using many different EHRs. I was completely shocked how easy SP was to use, and mystified why other EHR systems are not as wonderful as Simple Practice.

Cons

Nothing so far. It was a little difficult to figure out how to link my Stripe account, but that's about it.

It’s one of the best softwares I have used because it allows me to do everything in one place rather than having multiple apps for different needs.

Pros

I liked how user friendly the software is. This software allows you to do it all: schedule appointments, complete documentation and connect with clients.

Cons

Sending attachments to clients was a little confusing and required a few steps instead of a simple attach image or link.

Using this we have been able to make chart organization easier.

Pros

Being able to search for a patient chart from any page, being able to make a new chart from any page.

Cons

The inability to change between tabs quickly without saving changes. Not being able to send a direct link to chart outside of inhouse messenger.

Telehealth by Simple Pracice

I really like my Simple Practice except for the lack of live support. They have been making some improvements and I appreciate that but still wish I had more help with billing issues.

Pros

It allows me to continue to see my clients during the pandemic. It is easy for them to use. like that I can send them a link.

Cons

The telehealth feature can be a little "glitchy". My video fades in and out sometimes but not enough to stop the session.

There is really nothing I don't like about this software. Except the survey won't let me submit lol.

This is the best system for a one-man-show small practice like mine

Online scheduling and having all my client information, notes, accounting and recommendations in one place. I especially love that I can share documents directly from the program rather than using a separate email account.

Pros

I love the customer support, help center and all the classes they offer. It has been painless to transition from my old system to SimplePratice.

Cons

I am disappointed that I can't link client profiles together. I work with a lot of families and it would be nice to just have a family log in.

Pros

I've had a great experience so far with Simple Practice. It's user interface is great and billing is incredibly straightforward (I do superbills, I do not bill directly to insurance). I've been very happy overall.

Cons

The cost is higher than other EMR's designed for individual and small group practice. It also does not currently have the capability to link to online surveys for clients.

I love the streamlined ease of creating an invoice for a session and being able to immediately charge the client's card on file through Stripe.

Cons

I had some difficulty initially with finding and editing the intake paperwork that is sent with the new client portal link. It took me awhile to figure out where to find it.

Appointment Scheduling Made Easy

Pros

I enjoy using SimplePractice to schedule appointments with my provider. It's easy to view available appointments, request a new appointment, or reschedule. I get helpful reminders one day and then again one hour ahead of the appointment.

Cons

I am constantly needing to request a new link to access my portal. I still haven't figured out how to enter Client Portal without taking this extra step from an old email.

I like the link to a credit card that is encrypted. This is going to greatly benefit me and reduce the amount of lost revenue. I also like that it sends my reminders out .

Cons

I have not found any cons so far in using the program. It feels like overall the program is going to very much benefit my business.

Pros

I enjoy that simple practice allows me multiple functions for my therapy practice such as scheduling, billing, and HIPPA compliant. I also really value all of the documents provided and that you can modify them to meet the needs of your practice.

Cons

The only thing I didn’t like was it was initially confusing on how to locate all the document templates. However, a quick search gave me a link on where they’re located in the software.

The ease and format and the link from the program to my phone app. I also like the MSE. Otherwise I am a bit new and will have more positive feedback to offer at a later time.

Cons

I would like more of a comprehensive video tutorial to assist me with coordination of intake forms and how to access other features. Another idea would be to add supportive features such as reminders for clients birthdays.

EHR for private practice

Pros

Everything you need to run a practice is available and very well done. Once you learn your way around it becomes easier to navigate. There are many different options and lots of information in the help section if you need help. It's streamlined for complete (100%) EHR functionality. Smooth integrations for payment. I love the HIPAA compliant messaging in the patient portal and the calendar scheduling options for patients to see your schedule and choose a time without needing to call the office for an appointment. The awesome feature of video sessions without the need to use another company or software.

Cons

I find the navigational structure very awkward and not user friendly. It's kind of frustrating to figure out where things are because things aren't in a logical order. For better ease of use I would recommend that everything is clearly delineated into one menu structure rather than submenus and tab menus. For example: one could easily assume that client documents could be found in the left "Documents" menu link, but unfortunately that link is only for practitioner documents (uploading a copy of license, etc.). To find client documents you have to remember that you need to click "My Account" in the upper right corner, then the "Settings" submenu, then on the left side the "Client Portal" and then find the tab menu "Shared Documents and Files". It just a very strange link menu system.

Simple practice was introduced to me and my [SENSITIVE CONTENT] during a medical conference we attended during the early stages of setting up our private practice. Thankfully, it came at a time when we were still developing our core processes and workflows, so it was able to shape our systems right from the very beginning.

Pros

Simple Practice is very easy to learn and get comfortable using. All the various features easily link up to others that follow or proceed in the logical process of service delivery, making product navigation extremely user friendly and smooth.

Cons

The period allowed for the free trial is a bit short and does not allow potential buyers enough time to test all the core elements before having to make a decision on whether to purchase or not.

Pros

I found the online scheduler, billing, and progress note features to be the best part of this software.

Cons

I don’t like that we can’t link client accounts together. For example, when I see a minor whose parents are divorced, it would be great to link dad’s payment/account with the child and a mother’s payment/account to the same child. (Keeping parents separate from one another, without duplicating a minor client in order to achieve this). The forms and template database could use some more counseling forms. There tends to be a ton of ABA (behavioral) forms and doesn’t offer much in the way of family/couple counseling.

Fairly user friendly UI, not always intuitive

Pros

Being able to link my calendar on my website is fantastic. The superbills the software creates are simple to create and send. I love the templates that are available and that I can create my own (haven't seen this with other software).

Cons

For clients who are minors, their and their caregivers' information gets mixed up. Superbills say payments should go to the minor which is inaccurate. If the minor has an email address in the chart, I'd like to be able to have the automated reminder emails go to the minor and their caregiver. I'd like more features for liability and documentation purposes such as: reminder emails being part of the clients' files (a read receipt would be even better); being able to pull a client's appointment schedule showing all missed/late cancelled sessions; having a confirmation in the client's file that a superbill has been sent to them

Relatively seamless and intuitive

Simplified, partially automated scheduling.

Pros

Pleasant interface. Clients like the client portal and find it interesting. The calendaring is probably the most helpful so far. Also billing moves along and reminds you who needs to be billed and who has paid.

Cons

That we can't link paypal, Square POS, Venmo. Nobody I know uses Stripe or whatever the pay portal is that SimplePractice uses. This means most of my billing has to be entered manually. Streamlining billing was one of my major motivations but SP fails on that account.
