It was alright.
It was easy enough to use and do treatment plans through, and even had integrated CC processing
It wasn’t the most straightforward interface (though by no means complicated), I don’t care for the pricing as it quickly gets expensive to charge by the client.

I have been using this software now for 9 months. Overall I am pleased. Customer service is excellent. Seems comparably priced to other software companys. The mobile applications on an iPhone and iPad are my only complaints, needs improvement. They seem to be making changes all the time trying to improve. Recently added a client payment option in the portal, excellent feature. I use this as a sole proprietor so I cannot attest how it works for multiple therapist. I would recommend TherNest to others.
Customer service, that is does appointment reminders by text.

It's been a HUGE headache. They consistently overpromise and underdeliver.
It has so many bugs that it is hard to find much to like other than the cost. I do like that it is priced by client rather than by therapist.
SO MANY bugs that make working with the software on a day to day basis very difficult. Managed billing was TERRIBLE. They caused our practice to have 30k in outstanding claims in 2 months. NOTHING was paid. And then when I asked to discontinue the service, they stopped responding. We took over billing and they charged us over $600 in one month for work that WE DID.

I love this product!! It streamlined by clinical and business operations!!
Ease of use. Combines patient clinical and billing information in one. Technical support personnel are responsive and friendly.
Does not always load pages quickly, sometimes requires page refresh. Could use some formatting improvements for some of the billing/fiscal reports.

I came in to a situation where the former Admin was the only one who knew how to use TheraNest, key word being former. As such, I had little to no time to teach myself this system, which, turned out not to be any problem for anyone other than the Customer Support team. Their patience cannot be compared. Their understanding confuses me for I do not even know what I was asking 99.9% of the time. And, the amount of extra work these poor people had to take on fixing errors, even a deep sigh would have been no way near adequate but nothing other than sheer pleasantness. Even now that I am more up to speed, our therapists not so much which leads me to, still, constantly turn to TheraNest for help. I highly recommend

Very pleased with the program and the customer service is outstanding! It is also very easy on our budget by being billed per client than by counselor. And the non-profit discount doesn't hurt either!
How user friendly it is and the features work well with our private practice.
On the appointment screen, it would be helpful for the counselor to have the system to have the day of the week automatically populate along with the actual date of the appointment.

As a practitioner starting a new private practice there a nest enabled me to quickly organize treatment plans and create a bill payment system that was easy.
I like the ability to create treatment plans with ease and to track my appointments in the future.
I was confused by insurance billing section and and found uploading the documents to be somewhat complicated.

The system is aesthetically beautiful, pretty easy to learn and navigate and great for those who have multiple therapists in their practice as you pay by the client not by the therapist. Customer service is so responsive. Great system.

I am able to run my practice by myself without having to hire additional people
The client portal, the intake, treatment plan, and notes, the billing support. Since I've used this for 4 years now, I see that customer service has improved vastly from when I first started.
I dislike that I can't charge for more than one co pay at a time per client, as it gets flagged as a duplicate transaction. There should be a way to bypass that!

Fair
Less expensive subscription plans. Pretty simple interface. They are a work in progress, updating features in response to user needs.
Dealing with archiving and unarchiving clients, adding personalized forms that differ by clinician- can't figure it out, letting clients manage and see their invoices in the portal. They update and add a feature, but I've already created a work around by the time it is up and running.

How it easy and everything is basically self explanatory. Have used numerous programs by far my favorite.
I wish it would alert when a text recieve. It would only change the appt if client only press 1 or 2 but if they respond with a message form, no alert is receive. Also a breakdown when doing a report by the insurance company.

Cost effective practice management
This is the Most cost effective option I have found to manage a small private practice. The client portal is a wonderful tool to communicate with clients.
All of the concerns I have had or improvements I have inquired about have been promptly addressed or created by TheraNest.

Tracking of clients info in one place. I also like the ease of keeping track of billing.. The graphics also give a quick insight to what's going on
Global billing capability not there yet. I have a need to bill by credit card from the country I live to other countries .

I love TheraNest because it is user friendly and very simply to work with. I am just used to having for options while searching for Checks, claims etc.
Ease of use is the best part of TheraNest and I like the instruction videos
Reports tab doesn’t give many filters to make the report simpler for the provider. Creating a report by check numbers & dates would be great.

Ease of use and functionality is wonderful! It is a great tool and I love the client portal. As I said, there are still ways it can be improved.

Scheduling, billing, keeping notes in one place. It could not be easier to manage my notes for my clients.
Love the user-friendly software and how easy it is to learn how to navigate the program. The longer you use it, the new tips & tricks you discover.
Occasionally you will find that an appointment will bounce back to it's original status, but nothing that cannot be fixed by refreshing the screen.

I had been with the same billing company for 16 years. Learning this system was a challenge for me. I appreciate the online support.
After my learning curve I like it a lot.
I do not like the bill for clients. I would like it to show insurance payment, write off, and co-payment by client as separate payments.

Ours is not a therapy practice, but private pay recovery coaching for people with mental illness. So some of the incredible insurance billing features are wasted on us. Even so, Theranest is easier to use and more cost-effective than our previous scheduling software, which was designed for the home health care market. We are happy we made the switch.
Scheduling, adding clients and adding staff are all very easy and intuitive. We like that we can add custom forms and that most of the reports are very useful. The online help articles and tutorials answer about 80% of our questions, and the chat help has quickly handled almost all the rest. When we did need to talk to a real person we could, and got what we needed in one call. We love that the team is super-responsive when we have a suggestion for a feature. App is easy for coaches to use remotely (we think; that's the next phase.)
As of now, you can't link uploaded documents to particular sessions, or substitute a custom signable form for the Progress Notes form built-in. I wish the Staff Billing Report would create its own subtotals by staff member, as this would save us a lot of time doing payroll. Similarly, we'd love the Daily Billing Report to have subtotals by client. And we would love to be able to filter the calendar by client, but this is a small thing (you can see a list of appointments in the client tab, but not laid out in a weekly calendar).

My overall experience with TheraNest has been great! Continues updates are making even more user-friendly!
I like that it is easy to schedule clients, cancel sessions, reschedule sessions, etc. I particularly like being able to schedule a series as well as use an "after-hours" feature. I like that an client's initials can be used for privacy. Invoicing is easy, and I can easily see from the Agenda who has paid and who hasn't. I like the chat feature so that I can quickly communicate with other counselors and our office staff. We have multiple offices, so this helps us stay connected! I also like being able to add custom forms. And I like being able to do progress notes several different ways.
It would be nice to be able to sign a batch of progress notes at once by checking specific ones or a using a "select all" feature.

1) Clean interface and ease of use. TheraNest is exceptionally easy to learn, which works well for a training facility where therapists are coming and going every semester. 2) Excellent customer service. TheraNest's support team is available by phone or by a link through the TheraNest webpage. They usually get back to me within an hour for any questions I have.
The feature we've wanted most from TheraNest (which they don't yet have) is the ability to have clients electronically "sign" documents using their finger/stylus on an iPad. Currently, we have to print forms requiring client signatures (informed consent, release of information, etc.), have clients sign the paper copy, scan the copy back in, and drop it into one of the pre-set clinical document tabs in TheraNest. The other point on our "wish list" is ease of transferring information out to Excel or SPSS for research. Currently, this can only be done with demographic information.

Although cheaper initially, by the time you add the portal and everything else you need, it is pretty much the same or more expensive than some other EHRs

Overall this has been a great experience. Billing is super easy. Training is also easy. Both of these benefits show in the bottom line.
Record keeping can be daunting - so many guidelines from health providers and company policies. I have found this program to be flexible for our organization and forgiving to those who are new to the organization and are just learning. Our time is saved in training because of the great tutorials available to every user.
We are finding it difficult as we grow to our next level. No dates on reports and not able to run many reports by therapist is becoming increasingly difficult.

Positive and happy to have purchased it.
Ease of use- I've used many EHRs in the past; many are designed by software designers and are simply not intuitive or have bells and whistles that may seem great, but aren't used. Theranest feels like it was designed by therapists for therapists. Easy and intuitive, the most difficult area was billing which took less than a day to figure out. IT is responsive and the community is helpful.
Very happy with the program software. If there was anything to fix, I'd say the telehealth platform can sometimes be wonky, but I think that's simply the case across most platforms nowadays because of the high volume in video calls due to COVID.
