Able manage clients files electronically, billing is made easy and scheduling is a breeze
I like how user friendly the software is. I like how easy it is to navigate, the training videos and the partnership with office Ally which makes the billing process easier.
The credit cards rates for accepting co pay online were too high

There are no monthly fees, gateway fees, etc. You can also process payments without leaving TheraNest and store the card on file for future use! The best online scheduling software that is available to us in Asia.
It is oriented to my profession - mental health care. It has most of the functionality that our company needs: - appointment scheduling - room booking that prevents double booking, a must for us because we have 9 staff sharing 3 offices - invoice/receipt generation is easy - International user friendly, we are in Hong Kong - has the necessary features for managing the financial side of the business - appointment reminder features, easily editable reminder message - TN consistently add useful features to help with the business, e.g. custom forms, improved ease of use of the software - integration with other calendars - color coding for staff, ease of identifying each other on the master calendar - staff permissions feature - customer support has been excellent from the beginning
- staff permissions can be item selectable rather than group together in the basic five categories - basic navigation still needs some touch-up - mobile app needs an update - need to expand the list of reports that can be generated or permit selectable items to be generated for a report

We’ve only ever used theranest since moving everything online so I’m happy with it for the most part
I love how everything is all in one place - schedule, notes, contact log, billing. I also love the feature that alerts clients about upcoming appts.
In my experience it has had some weird flukes like erasing case notes or the calendar being very touchy. I also with the treatment planning and initial assessment features were more in line with what Medicaid requires because we can’t use those.

My clients can pay their bills online (and always see their balance), are reminded of appointments (fewer "no-shows"), and all of my records are stored efficiently and securely online. No hassles, no worries, and less room needed for storing all of that in paper format in my office.
I love that all of my information is located in one place. I can track appointments (and access this on the go!), manage records, send statements, and track client balances, all in one place. The templates are customizeable and keep my record-keeping streamlined, consistent, and professional. Most fields are also editable (service pricing, client balance, etc).
I still need to use QuickBooks to manage my expenses and overall business transactions, but this feature is not what Theranest is designed to do (or necessarily should, even).

I really like the Wiley Treatment Plan integration.
Online chat assistance has been very helpful. Customer support is responsive and overall the software is easy to learn.
Remembering to save data before using the back button takes some getting used to. I've lost data I've entered.

I use them for general EMR/note taking but recently began using them for appointment reminders and for claims submission and they are saving me hours every month.
It's so user friendly and intuitive. It's very easy to get questions answered online. And customer support is amazing!

Overall I have been very happy with my Theranest experience. As a solo practitioner, it was the easiest and smoothest system I tried and I appreciated the customer service when I started. The pandemic changed some things with everyone getting on line and needing help so it seemed like a longer wait for help but just the same it was a growing time for all of us. So, would I recommend Theranest based on my experience as a whole...the answer is simple.. yes.
Ease. When I signed on the Theranest customer service was phenomenal as I was "green" with using an EHR online system.
I would like to see more therapeutic interventions and options on the treatment plan for checks only. That would be amazingly helpful.

I had been with the same billing company for 16 years. Learning this system was a challenge for me. I appreciate the online support.
After my learning curve I like it a lot.
I do not like the bill for clients. I would like it to show insurance payment, write off, and co-payment by client as separate payments.

I love how I can use one system to schedule clients, complete documentation (intake, diagnostic impressions, treatment plan, case notes), billing (private pay or insurances via clearinghouse, and credit card processing). It helps me to stay organized and sets reminders for tasks.
Theranest has provided me with ease of billing, documentation, and scheduling clients. Their fees are very reasonable and you get a lot for the price you pay. The staff are consistently looking for ways to improve their produce and regularly incorporate suggestions from their customers. Their customer support team is efficient, kind, and professional. I had a situation wherein I needed to get...
Most of their customer service is provided via online. I prefer talking to a live person over the phone; however, when you electronically submit a question, they are very quick to provide a resolution.

I am using Theranest for online progress notes and insurance billing. I have found it to be very useful and would recommend Theranest to anyone in healthcare.
The software is very thorough and I am just now finding my way around the insurance billing process but I can see once I create the proper information for clients that billing insurance companies will be a snap. Actually I went to a workshop and the presenter recommended Theranest because her billing problems were solved.
It is always difficult to get used to new software but once accomplished it will be excellent.

Our team did over 25 demos (not kidding! My brain was numb) for various online EHR software. And, TheraNest exceeded our expectations. So, hence the 5 stars across the board.
Customer service is prompt and friendly. Layout is user-friendly. Billing and payment process is simple. Encourages ideas for enhancements from the very professionals using the software. Continually updating and upgrading system to make it a great fit for the behavioral health field.

I'm going to submit all of my billing through TheraNest, because it's much more efficient than doing it on my own and will save me a lot of time for a small amount of money.
I like being able to submit billing, and I like the patient portal for new patients, so they can fill out information before I meet them in person or online.
It seems to have a lot of features that I still haven't had a whole lot of time to explore yet, but it is easy to get up and going by learning the basics in a short amount of time. I have had problems with the TeleHealth Sessions, but I think most issues are due to overstressed internet systems. One issue I haven't been able to resolve is the difficulty in seeing the client, or having the client see me at the beginning of the session without leaving and reconvening into the session a few times, and even that doesn't always work.

What I love most about this product is that it allows me to have client's complete all intake paperwork online, without them having to print it out. It's easy to use and to set up.

I wish they didn't charge extra for it. I also wish they had more therapy note templates already built in for different age groups as I also provide play therapy.

online, secure, works through officeAlly.com, keeps improving with more features or fixes added regularly, price is acceptable if you can keep inactive clients de-activated-but see below for what interferes with that.
way more clicks per action than seem necessary. Very hard to keep track of payments because ERA listings have no information in the list (so you have to open every one to see who it is for and what dates and what insurance etc.) we're resorted to going to office ally, getting the info there, then working to record payments and write-offs in theranest. no one available to hire to do any of this (I asked theranest) waiting a day or longer for an email answer to questions, means you don't have the help when you have the time available to do the desk work

Customer support is very good, which is a lifesaver -- you'll need it!!
The more I use this system the less I like it. I chose it over other systems because I liked the interface, and I still like that. Unfortunately key functions are so bad I am considering switching (after putting in 30+ hours learning and setting up this system).
1) The billing system is so much more difficult than it should be to use on the therapist's end. I thought it would save me time from my former archaic practice of keeping track manually, but there are so many dumb elements (for example, the fact that it's necessary to write off the difference between your standard rate and the insurance reimbursement rate manually for every single invoice), that...

So far so good! I like the ease of use, all of the tools offered, and how documents etc. can be formatted to fit my practice needs. I hope to continue using this platform.
I chose Theranest on the recommendation of an online therapists group I am a part of. So far, I have enjoyed the price point, the scheduling, calendar, intake and notes portion of Theranest and I like what I know about the teletherapy platform as well.
I am not completely sure about the teletherapy platform in that I have only utilized it on a 'trial' basis. I like that it is built into the emr service and it seems to be competitive with other teletherapy platforms I have tried or looked into.

TheraNest was a satisfying tool for me, but it didn't really do the trick in terms of pricing rates.
What I liked most about TheraNest is that it offers all the tools you need to manage your mental health practice, be it a small one or a clinic. Think about scheduling appointments, billing your clients, managing client and session information. It also offers the options of integrating online therapy.
I wasn't really convinced to keep using the software, because the pricing was dependent on the number of clients your practice has. As my practice grew, I decided to switch.

The client portal and the fact that the intake can be done online! I love custom forms, the appointment reminders, emails, payroll.... I love it all! I especially love the customer service. I'm a loyal customer especially because of the way they are with their customers (texting, emailing and constant improvements). 10 stars!
Id like payroll to be able to have the option to select the payouts due tab and pay clinicians when claims are paid in full. Copays are attached to this currently and I have to select "copay paid to clinician" even though it's not in order for payouts due to work the way I need it to. I also need to be able to print out a demographics sheet on a single client to an option. I'd also like the email to have a time that an email was sent.

We have been using the software for several months now and have found that the online help in form of videos and chats to be quite helpful. There are some features that are missing for our business, but TheraNest has been adding features and has been very open to additions needed by their clients.

Theranest provides an intuitively easy therapy software system. I love being able to do everything I need in one software program, and I also purchased and love using Therabook to allow clients to complete intake forms and schedule appointments online. The customer service and response time is phenomenal (usually immediate during business hours). I give Theranest my highest recommendation!!!

Pros: great customer service. Love the ease of adding support staff without sharing confidential clinical info. Great pricing. Love the ability to log contacts with clients quickly and how it assists with maintaining HIPPA compliance. Cons: I initially had some difficulty navigating the program, but I really found the online training helpful. Also, I couldn't find a way to print contact log.
