The CPT/Svc code selection is made in the Appointment Screen and the therapist would have to go to another screen to change the Service Code.

Theranest for Private Practice

Theranest offers a wide variety of useful tools, such as scheduling, schedule reminders, electronic insurance claims, billing, documentation, and analytics for attendance, billing, and scheduling.

Pros

Theranest does a great job when it comes to submitting electronic insurance claims, creating superbills and/or invoices, and has plenty of storage for electronic files.

Cons

Theranest needs to work on their calendar feature as it is not user-friendly or very practical.

A great platform for private practitioners!

Honestly, TheraNest has been the key to my success. Having just about everything right there has made all the difference.

Pros

It has functionality for appointment reminders, secure messaging, running credit cards, even HIPAA-compliant video chat.

Cons

But, the support team is fast and responsive, and there is a portal to suggest new features, which they actually act on!

Organization, time management, no missed notes.

Pros

But the best part of TheraNest is the customer service. Not only are they fast but they answer all of my dumb questions as if they aren't, they walk me through the things I screw up with patience.

Cons

At one time there was no way to see that an email reminder had been sent to clients.

Overall, my favorite EMR of the five I have used and tried.

Pros

Set up to document all phases of counseling; ability to upload documents into client records; MSE with each progress note; can email clients through client portal for HIPPA compliance; clients can securely complete, sign, and submit intake paperwork through client portal; ability to accept credit and debit cards easily for services rendered; GREAT invoicing and billing features; automated appointment reminders; integrated calendar; multi clinician capability; Wiley planner and progress note features; the reports feature is fantastic for tracking payments, invoices, and notes status.

Cons

Like any product, it is not perfect. The calendar feature is good but has room for improvement with respect to appointments spilling into nonwork hours or the occasional time I choose to see clients outside my regular hours to compensate for conferences or other needs taking time from my regular client schedule.

Pros

I'm sure there is higher level functionality that I just don't need to worry myself with as I don't bill insurance and just needed a HIPAA compliant software to store treatment notes and do simple invoicing.

Cons

There are some simple visual improvements that could be made to the appointment scheduling/calendar function.

The best online scheduling software that is available to us in Asia.

Pros

It has most of the functionality that our company needs: - appointment scheduling - room booking that prevents double booking, a must for us because we have 9 staff sharing 3 offices - invoice/receipt generation is easy - International user friendly, we are in Hong Kong - has the necessary features for managing the financial side of the business - appointment reminder features, easily editable reminder message - TN consistently add useful features to help with the business, e.g. custom forms, improved ease of use of the software - integration with other calendars - color coding for staff, ease of identifying each other on the master calendar - staff permissions feature - customer support has been excellent from the beginning

Cons

- staff permissions can be item selectable rather than group together in the basic five categories - basic navigation still needs some touch-up - mobile app needs an update - need to expand the list of reports that can be generated or permit selectable items to be generated for a report

Ease of use, integrated billing, electronic health records that are HIPAA Compliant, and overall a good workflow.

Pros

Files are organized and help to keep me accountable with a great, relatively easy workflow which includes billing, treatment planning, assessment, etc.

Cons

The assessment and forms are still in their rudimentary form. There's a lot of customization that they could have, and probably should have, but they can't provide that...yet...

TheraNest provides a quality platform that integrates provider scheduling, notes, treatment plans and billing with a client portal. It has streamlined my business and cut down on my practice management time.

Pros

Digital forms, integrated billing, notes, scheduling, treatment plans, a la cart add on services.

Cons

The billing reconciliation can be cumbersome...but the benefits definitely outweigh the cons.

Great Software Solution for our Group Practice

From the very beginning of setting up a demo to on-going questions, they have been patient, understanding, and very helpful.

Pros

Lastly this was this software product offered all the functions (i.e. scheduling, reminders, billing, documentation) we were looking for at a reasonable price.

Cons

Although you can make a custom form, this isn't integrated into the reports function either.

Smooth work Flow

I have actually watched this company grow and alter their Technology to adapt to ever-changing needs of Insurance Billing, Provider Scheduling, and smooth Office Management, since starting our contract with Theranest.

Pros

The ease, efficiency, and great mechanics of this software makes my billing needs go very smoothly.

Cons

Secondary Insurance billing is complicated in that the Provider must actually submit and manage Primary Insurance Billing first before Secondary Billing can be submitted which leads to a longer delay in payment for services.

My clients love the appointment reminders and that their co-pays are paid with a click of a button after each appointment.

Pros

I've never had an issue getting questions answered. 2) I love the customizable forms and the client portal. 3) I enjoy that it works with by previous clearinghouse, office ally.

Cons

My previous software fed the information into the patient account automatically, with one push of a button.

Good but needs some improvements

I would say in the beginning Theranest was excellent, it has made a lot of updates and improvements but the Telehealth still needs a lot of help to be more efficient. Im debating on cancelling my subscription and using Zoom or Doxy.me instead. Also takes longer to implement suggestions, I felt they were quicker in the beginning.

Pros

I love the automatic appointment reminders and the missing progress notes reports.

Cons

The Telehealth app is very glitchy (lose sound and video often) 2. No chart alerts options, which Ive requested for the past one year 3.

I have always don't my own insurance billing what used to take me hours and hours and stress me out.

Pros

I especially appreciate Telehealth, Client Portal, and Appointment Reminders.

Cons

It would be helpful to set Telehealth appointments as reoccurring and to create an invoice from the calendar tab rather than the agenda tab for those of us who bill once a week.
