Amazing. Very happy.
A wonderful seamless natural and clean EHR.
No eprescribing or elabs, yet. It's focused on therapists currently, but I'm sure in the future it will address this need for psychiatrists.
Thank you! We hope to add eprescribing in 2013!

Its ease of use and intuitive interface. Vendor is open to feedback and strives to make changes when asked/suggestions are made.
I wish it were more compatible with other EHR systems - and I hope that it is created so that we can interact with other PC docs EHR systems at some point. I also wish it had more robust reporting capabilities.

TN was easy to implement and immediately gave the clinicians EHR and online access to their calendar.
The support for Therapy Notes is tremendous. You can always get someone on the phone to answer your questions. If they need to they will research the answers to make sure you get a correct answer. One can ask follow-u questions and the staff will continue to work with you until you understand the issue.
The fact that the billing process is tied to the signed clinician clinical notes. There is no way to link services to a clinician if they include overpayments you can not easily tell which clinician should get the money.

Move to TherapyNotes from another EHR was a great decision. Particularly for the customer support we receive.
Software is easy to use, moderately customizable and customer service is very responsive and helpful. Makes good use of drop-down boxes and check boxes to streamline note writing. Their online credit card processing has made things much easier and is cheaper than using Square.
There is no option for multiple copay options for shared clients within a practice. The pre-formatted progress notes are cumbersome at times.

This EHR is extremely easy to use. It is intuative and keeps me on track. I love the daily to do list.
No secure client portal. I would like to see the ability to exchange messages with clients more securely.

Overall, I am obsessed with therapy notes and will never use anything else.
I love how simple this EHR is to use. I have been using it for over a year and will never use anything else.
I attempted to bill on my own and ran into a few issues. I called therapy notes and didn't have much of a resolution.

The best of all the EHR and practice management systems I evaluated in terms of features, flexibility, and performance.
Full featured, flexible, easy to use, complies with state and professional standards, saves time, web based. Good performance.
No way for clients to book appointments directly. Backing up/archiving/reporting per client or per practice not available.
Thanks for the great and candid review! You can export all of your notes for a particular patient by clicking "Download Multiple", but you're right there's no site-wide way to do it yet. We will be adding a patient portal feature to TherapyNotes in the future stay tuned! Thanks again.

I love TherapyNotes. I couldn't be happier with this software. I used several EHRs and this one is, by far, the best. It is easy to use. Therapynotes allows the user to see all the information needed at the time of the session the check a client in, take insurance payments and reschedule follow-up appointments. Plus, you get it all for a great price. Excellent support staff, too. They offer a free 30 day trial, so you can lose.
Easy to use. Written by therapists for therapists. Calendar, clinical documentation, and billing all in one system. You don't have to be tech savvy to use this EHR.
More analytics. I feel that TherapyNotes would benefit from having more robust reporting features. I think they'll get there eventually.

Unfortunately I would not recommend to group practices looking for an EHR with robust features. We're looking into other software and finding better options
Therapy notes has an intuitive user interface and reasonable pricing especially for group practices.
The client portal which has been promised for year is still not finished and the program has poor reporting functions for group practices

It was good, I think of it as a great bargain for an EHR that is very well priced to include all that it does
It was relatively straightforward, great price, could do insurance billing for you, includes treatment planning, integrated CC processing.
Not as customizable as I would like, no integrated telehealth

Fair value Mental health focus Developed the role that we play for the multiple clinics that we have for our new EHR as we transition from Practice Fusion due to their high increase in cost.
No e-prescribing option We are considering starting a nurse practitioner and that is a limitation that we might run into.

Excellent EHR company. We highly recommend. I also have experience with Simple Practice. I find TherapyNotes so much easier to navigate and the customer support makes it totally worth it!
Everytime I call for help, I am able to get an almost immediate friendly, professional, patient person to help answer questions and trouble shoot problems. This is so helpful in keeping things moving in a fast paced helping profession.
I wish they had the ability to customize forms. We had to look at another options since this feature is limited to either the forms they have available or uploading a .pdf which can be clunky for clients. Since we work with multiple family members at the same time on telehealth, I wish there was an option for multiple screens.

Use TherapyNotes if you're in behavioral mental health. This system is great!
This system was designed for mental health providers. It's an incredible EHR. The clinical notes are easy to use. The system is predictive. The calendar and billing features are what set it apart from other EHRs.
I'd like to see TherapyNotes develop more reporting features. I'd also like to see them add e-prescribing. It's a robust system otherwise.

TherapyNotes is a great option but needs to remain competitive with the growing market of EHR. I would recommend it, but unless it's price changes, it was easier to choose the alternative option.
This software is great for a private practice. It has all the necessary features like scheduling, payments, an easy to use client portal, and of course documentation. The formatting was use friendly, attractive, and intuitive. As a solo practitioner, there were many features I did not have the opportunity to use that I am sure would have been useful for a larger practice (non-clinical staff features).
The features were very similar to SimplePractice, which at the time of sign up, was cheaper. TherapyNotes charged for client reminders, .14 cents per reminder. That can really add up! I also believe that the credit card payment is more expensive through Therapynotes. Therapynotes also does not offer a secure messaging system, which has been helpful for communicating with my patients.

Sales, technical support, all of it has been terrific. There are a lot of EMRs out there - I feel like it's the support that makes the difference when something isn't working right, or I need to add a new feature.
It is an intuitive interface. There is always a learning curve to setting an EHR up in the beginning, but once you have that done TherapyNotes is very easy to use for both psychotherapy and prescribing. And customer support is always great.
It was a challenge to learn some of the terminology for functions, and figure out where settings could be found that I needed to set/change - but customer support has always been able to walk me through it.

I love the customer support - they really understand both the technical side of running an EHR and the clinical side of running a practice. They are always interested in knowing how to improve their software and in helping us be efficient clinicians.
They had a couple of days of slower service but were able to keep all of their users informed of the slow-down and updated when the fix was implemented.

In general I am very happy with the customer support and with the features.
I like the setup - it is very user friendly!
I moved from a EHR system that had been free, so it is taking me time to get used to paying monthly for this service. I also wish there was the option to modify the intake template to better suit my practice’s needs.

They have the nicest, most helpful customer service of any company with which I have ever interacted. I'm serious. They pick up the phone, they actually help you, and they are exceeding pleasant the whole time. They even send you articles, You Tube videos, and email summaries (w/o you asking) so that you have something to further illuminate what they have told you and serve as a reference in the future.
The framework for the notes look like they are designed by a medical malpractice attorney or your malpractice insurance carrier (former attorney here). They cover every base and I love it, kidding aside, because it ensures that I am providing the top level of care to my patients (Did I check whether Pt had SI? What did Pt say vs. my perception of them?) Plus, I can customize the notes and carry over portions of former notes to make note writing more efficient for me.
I haven't found any mental health EHR that is doing this (only the really large, expensive medical programs), but I would pay more if TN could add a patient direct payment system to the Portal. I'm thinking that, with time, this is something that they will offer.
Thank you for the glowing review! You can actually accept credit cards on the portal with the Payment Authorization Form. You may also be happy to know that an upcoming feature will also patients to actually make payments.

I have realized that this is the easiest to use EHR system out of all the systems I have used in the past. I was able to figure out how to use it with very little training because it is so straightforward.
I like that I can save client's information to make charging their balance easier. I like that the system directs me to do natural next steps (e.g., creating a treatment plan after doing an assessment note). I like that it is easy to see my active clients and their next appointment. It is also easy to create statements as PDFs to email clients when they ask for one.
I have had some issues with creating a superbill. I still haven't figured out how to resolve those issues.

TherapyNotes has helped me to better organize, schedule, and bill for services related to my practice. It removes the need for a separate billing service as I can submit billing from within the EHR. I can focus more time on client care and building my practice as can be more efficient with the management of my day-to-day tasks.
TherapyNotes is easy to use from day one. From its intuitive interface to the ease of scheduling and billing, this EHR is great for the solo practice that wants to manage its own needs or for the group practice that has office staff to manage these tasks. Customer support is fast, friendly, and helpful.
The only downside is the lack of ability to create customized forms within the system for clients to fill out and submit electronically. There are a handful of preloaded forms in the Library, but so far there is no way to create my own electronic forms to add to my company library.

TherapyNotes is a great program for small providers who are needing to move to EHR/EMD. The interface is easy to follow, and the support team is easy to work with and great in resolving issues. I have recommended this platform to numerous peers and colleagues in the Mental Health Counseling or Psychotherapy fields.
Things I wish it had, like some of the larger software programs are: 1. Dashboard view for Supervisors and Administrators to notify them of any documentation that may be nearing required time frames for submission, and of any upcoming treatment plans, etc. 2. The ability to modify documentation templates to meet the specific need of the provider. 3. The ability to have billing modifiers automatically...

I actually love Therapy Notes--it's by far the easiest, most intuitive mental health potential-EHR solution out there. It lacks a few features, like batch billing, EHR-certification, patient portal, etc. to make it as competitive as it needs to be. Until it adds certain features, it can't compete as well with other companies, but once it does, there will be no contest! I would give customer service a higher rating, but the representatives don't seem to always know what's in the works and could provide more information if they kept up on what is in development and tried harder to communicate where the company is going.

It's great that you can keep credit cards on file through this system!
I tried out this product as an acupuncturist when a friend who is a therapist recommended it to me for clinical note taking. I found it very easy to use, but the templates are definitely set for therapists and are not adaptable for other practitioners.
If you are not a therapist, this product probably won't work for you! That may sound obvious given the name of the product, but as an acupuncturist struggling to find an EHR, I was trying out everything. I did like the clean templates of TherapyNotes but ultimately it was too standardized for what I needed.

My overall experience has been great. I appreciate the numerous benefits I receive with Therapy Notes to run my group practice.
I find Therapy Notes easy to use and navigate. I am comfortable with the security and compliance to protect my client's personal records and information. I have used other EHR software in the past and find Therapy Notes excels most others for therapists/counselors in practice. I value the support I have received when needed and find that most of my questions are easily addressed in the Help section. I think Therapy Notes is reasonably priced as well for the amount of use provided.
I would like to see the software able to support my client's filling out paperwork in the portal system, such as an Intake Packet, and be able to submit all documents into the EHR directly. I find it tedious and time consuming to scan documents to be uploaded into the client's file.

I looked at a lot of therapy software programs for my private practice. I chose this one because, despite the cons, it is a good product, easy to use, and a good value for the money. I like having an EHR. It makes life much easier. TherapyNotes is a good product.
Easy billing and a ton of payor sources Very easy to use Good scheduling Professional looking reports You can choose credit card processing if desired for a small fee Mostly I like the to-do reminders. I don't forget to do notes. Great reports.
No options for customizing notes although you can download whatever you want. There is a lot of free text typing. Would be nice to have more pick lists. Would be nice if the patient portal did more than just offer clients scheduling. For example, it would be nice to have an option for clients to securely email or make requests through patient portal.
