Pros

A friend who had been in the hotel industry for many years recommended that we incorporate this software to help manage our online reservations. It was one of the best decisions we have made.
After using the software for just over 2 years now I am still very happy with Little Hotelier - we are a basic room only 2* hotel and the software is perfect for us.
The integration and change was so simple and the support from Little Hotelier was amazing. The Reports section is so helpful with the day to day accounting.

Pros

Overall dealing with RMS in system wise has been great and Customer service are easy to talk to, friendly, explain things with ease they don't rush you. The team know there system and how to explain.
My overall experience is really good. I've been using RMS for over a year now and I am super comfortable with using this system.
Easy on a daily basics and very useful for what we need. And the support team is amazing.

Cons

Since the updates, it lags when you try to drag a booking between rooms/ beds and it also refreshes every time you try to do something which is very frustrating.
Initially it was horrible and we began looking for alternatives.
We experienced double bookings due to glitching of the channel manager and booking engine. Technical support failed to take responsibility, simply blaming the OTAs.

Cons

At present there is a considerable lag and with the changes it can become frustrating.
Group booking - hate how many clicks. I always struggle with rate setup.
The program itself hangs constantly and as you need to work on it 12 hours a day its very frustrating and all the while you are paying through the nose.

Poor invoicing workflow with account customers

We moved from Reservation Master Pro which had poor support, security issues and was not cloud based. Every system has its challenges however. We have less errors with LH however invoicing workflow to account customers is very time consuming and takes more time than the previous software. They are not very responsive to queries and you get the corporate runaround.

Cons

Visuals are clunky *Generates unprofessional invoices to customers and cannot automatically produce a PDF invoice which most corporate customers require. *Very basic reporting making reconciliations difficult. *Tax invoice numbers on bookings do not match actual invoices *No integration to Xero

Pros

Set up and ease of use. Linkage to Siteminder Cloud based which you can access form multiple devices. Can think of anything else to recommend here?

Cons

Poor financial and room performance reporting. Invoicing workflow abysmal - --Unable to search under an invoice number which makes reconciliation very time intensive. --PDF invoice generation is not automatic when sending an invoice --Cannot run a debtors report --Invoices are HTML embedded into email, do no print correctly Visual cues are poor compared to similar products e.g. outstanding payments, occupancy at a glance. Customer support is slow and they don't respond to the basic issues with any timeline for implementation of fixes. No communication when software changes are made

Pros

Ideal for managing lodging reservations of inns and small houses for the reception of guests. It allows the administration of activities and procedures that are inherent to the sales and marketing of the hotel service. It is versatile because the information is stored in the cloud and also easy to use.

Cons

It is not functional for large hotels, but when we are aware of that, it is not something that does not worry, because it represents a great support for those who undertake in the hotel area.

Essential foundation product for smaller hotel - could not function without it

Excellent support. Responsive team. Cloud based pricing makes it an obvious choice for a smaller operation. Good on basic features. I do want more to provide for hotel/restaurant products that do not involve room nights as the key metric. Smaller hotels sometimes try to sell services that are not always framed in number of room nights. They are listening but I am still hopeful it will come soon.

Good for small properties, but....

It's an australian company, so they're not really dedicated to the US market. Just last year you could not enter a Discover card transaction. The biggest plus is ease of use (because there's not many features). It's cloud based which is great for taking reservations from a mobile enabled tablet when you're on the beach....to use a smart phone is hard but not impossible. you have a powerful interface...

Taking on Little Hotelier was the best decision we made for our business.

Little Hotelier promised to streamline our booking systems and give us the sort of stats and control a large very expensive accommodation booking program would deliver. All of this with cloud based software which means I can access LH from any computer anywhere in Australia, or indeed the world It combines seamlessly with Siteminder channel manager to integrate our online bookings with our phone bookings to give us a complete picture of our B&B business. This gives us a far better insight into decision making for the future. We look forward to a more user friendly mobile version for owners to use on iPads and mart phones when away from the business, I'm sure this is not far away!

Works great....in Australia

Simple and quick cloud system built on Siteminder channel manager. Made for Australian market, has been in US for one year (only), and still no support for Discover cards! Horrible useless reporting module. Guest emails are not editable....you can add some things to the confirmation email, but there are no marketing emails. You cannot edit the format of reservation cards so they print on two pages which is a waste of paper. US based customer service can't do much but relay suggestions to Australia. Only 3 status colors, and no way to flag a guest/customer. Customer service says it's 'front desk software not a PMS'. Then why is it being sold as a PMS???!!! Siteminder as a channel manager is great, so I would look at PMS's that integrate with it.

Very good.

Pros

RMS is user-friendly, and easy to navigate. There are little quirks in it but once identified are easily managed and applied.

Cons

Not being able to omit certain guests from scheduled emails & EDM content options are very limited. (Could be linked to a simple graphics program like Canva??)

You can also segment guests using our report writer, an advanced tool that allows you to segment guest data on a range of criteria, including length of stay, time of stay, with/without children, birthday, number of visits, company, etc. Hopefully this will help you to omit certain guests from emails. Pros

We loved the ease of use. Additionally we were very satisfied with the telephone backup service we encountered in the few times we got a little stuck.

We try to minimize the need to call the help centre as much as possible. The help centre support has been greatly improved in recent times. The staff are happy to assist solve our issues. The RMS system is very open and customisable, for someone with little IT experience this can be a little daunting.

Great, still a little overwhelmed as we have not "officially" implemented with our staff. The instructor we had during the set-up processes was great. She was extremely knowledgeable of the whole system.

RMS has been a system I have been able to navigate with little help. When there are problems majority of the time support has been helpful and have been able to resolve the issue.

Pros

In RMS you are able to select many different detailed fields that need to be filled out for reservations which is very helpful with guest check in and guest check out. RMS to me seems very self explanatory. It is not very difficult to understand the system.

Cons

The refund process. I feel like it should be a simple setting that can be done by a manger, etc. and not have to go through so many obstacle courses.

I think it is a fabulous assistant especially for someone new like me learning the ropes

Pros

The friendly assistance I have received on numerous occassions

Cons

Had 1 assistant I thought was a little rude over the phone

Pros

Looks great, web-based, lots of functionality, good reporting options, well designed and easy to setup/use.

Cons

A little buggy at times, can't toggle between different applications within the software.

Overall for such a complex booking system it is excellent.

Pros

Intergrates quite well with our existing business. Pos terminals for charge back etc.

Cons

I think the the front page menu is a little awkward to use

Cons

Mobile version can be worked on it is a little hard to use now

Pros

CSR has been more than helpful every time we have to contact him to help with any RMS problems and he also makes it easy to understand and a pleasant phone call.

Cons

Sometimes the software is a little complicated to use but CSR helps fix it.

We had a really old system that we are moving away from and it’s just amazing what this one does.

Pros

It is very easy to use and does so much! I love that it is very customizable to your business and to each user. The support has been amazing and I couldn’t be happier!

Cons

When you are setting up your confirmations the list of options that you can utilize could be a little more user friendly.

Pros

I love the fact that it has so many features built into one! I don't have to keep separate logs all over the place! RMS allows me to keep track all in one place!

Cons

Some of the features need to be integrated a little better so they completely function as they did as a stand alone.

Easy to use and so many functions available

Cons

The font is a little small in the accounting department so I need to use glasses when I don't normally need them....

Powerful Hotel Management Software

This is great software for organizing your hotel reservations. Love the software.

Pros

I loved the intuitive approach this software brings to the industry. I began never having worked in the hospitality business, but this software made it possible for a rookie like me to not only learn, but excel in using the product.

Cons

Sometimes it can be a little difficult to remove the maintenance hold on rooms. Other than that, we have not had a problem.

It is obvious the company have procedures for everything. The setup process has gone very well.

Pros

I like almost everything about this software compared to other PMS that I have used: All of the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Together we have setup and almost completed training in a few weeks. Any minor problems/queries that we have had have been resolved really quickly. Considering the software can do so much it is very easy to learn and use. It comes with it's own channel manager which is also straight forward to setup and use. It can be linked to other software e.g. accounting.

Cons

It can be a little bit laggy at times. This could be down to our computing power or more likely our internet connection

WE love RMS and wish we had switched sooner!

Overall our experience has been great! All the automation saves us lots of time and makes us look more professional as well.

Pros

We like that it's cloud-based so we can access it from anywhere on any device at any time we choose. It's also very user-friendly for those taking reservations and the ability to easily take online reservations is great.

Cons

Can be a little challenging when making changes in the backend, but if we ever have any issues tech support walks us through it.

Pros

I had researched a lot of systems to help us run our motel, on our wish list: PMS, channel manager, trust accounting, local support and a crm. Although the RMS platform has a basic crm (or rather marketing module) he rest of the system is unreal. The smart management of rates, channels and property saves us a bucket load of time. If you spend the time understanding the platform, the results are unreal.. Their support crew are the best.. We thought our last PMS was good, these guys are a level beyond and it's all included in their package price. Great value for money.

Cons

The CRM and marketing is a little basic, bu we realise this is relatively new and cannot wait to see the upgrades come through for this.

Pretty good

Pros

For the most part it’s good. Have had some issues in the past that took a while to work out. Now things are better.

Cons

It’s a little difficult to use fir people that are nit the best on the computer and to get training you must pay more. And it’s expensive.

Revolutionizing the Marina Experience ... both for attendees and workers!

Using RMS Marina has digitized the marina, and has filled a void in the market. Marina management has never been easier and more effective than now with this program. It has allowed for my local marina to be run smoother and cater to the demands of the discerning clients that spend time there.

Pros

The capabilities of the software is astounding, everything is configurable and when it comes to running a marina, this program seems to be able to do everything you throw at it, and really streamline the process.

Cons

Can seem a little overwhelming at first, as there are a lot of menus and options for things. There is a learning curve for using this powerful software.

The customization and the reports for managing and accounting are the best part of the program.

Pros

The RMS progam is very customizable. It can be set-up to address mutltiple scenarios for all types of accomodations.

Cons

If too many screens are open at one time the program seems to lag a little and some portions of the windows are not visible on smaller size computer screens and displays .

The Only Way To Go

RMS updates regularly, creating new functionality which keeps the software and our business at the cutting edge in property management systems. The RMS team seek feedback and listen to customer suggestions about improvements and new functions.

Pros

RMS is a user friendly program, intuitive program that helps to make complicated and complex work easier to manage. Inventory & rates management is made easy. The quality of detail data that RMS enables you to extract makes it a valuable business management tool - it puts information at your fingertips. Support is first rate - they can be relied upon to resolve issues quickly.

Cons

As an infrequent user I find the menu titles a little hard to navigate. The terminology used is sometimes not how I would expect a certain area of functionality to be described.
